We're delving even deeper into the Monster Arena this time, fans. Some of the strongest opponents in the game are right here. I hope you've got 255 Strength, Defence, Magic Defence, Agility and an Accuracy/Evasion/Luck combination that's greater than or equal to 255. Otherwise you'll get battered.

Original Creations Part 2[]

Th'uban[]

Th'uban

HP: 3,000,000 (99,999)
AP: 50,000 (50,000)
Gil: 0
Vulnerabilities:

  • None

Difficulty: Very Hard

This thing is an utter bastard. It counters your attacks with Condemn, which wipes clean your positive status effects. Hyper Mighty G just became irrelevant. You can't even Anima tank him because he'll wipe out your buffs and OHKO you with Convergence, which is basically guaranteed 99,999 damage. You can survive it with an Aeon's Shield but you're on to a loser if you think you can go tête-à-tête with Th'uban and survive.
This is why Auto-Protect is a must now -- Condemn can't remove permanent buffs. What you still have to watch out for is Rainbow, which randomly inflicts Poison, Sleep, Silence, Darkness and Confuse. Fun. Statusproof armour would be fine here if it didn't clash with your carefully-customised Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect, Auto-Phoenix armour. Ribbon is the ideal fourth ability, but getting it on more than one character at this point is an absolute grind. Save this guy for near-last.
His weapons drops are awesome, with up to four slots containing Triple AP and Triple Overdrive. It's just a shame you have to go through this thing to get them.

Neslug[]

HP: 4,000,000 (99,999)
AP: 50,000 (50,000)
Gil: 0
Vulnerabilities:

  • Silence

Difficulty: Hard

The Monster Arena owner came up with this thing. He designed and created this hideous abomination. Guy needs help. Not being based on a previous boss (or any other fiend for that matter), Neslug is the one true 'original creation' of the Monster Arena.

It attacks with Megaton, which does massive damage and inflicts Confuse. It also uses Slime, a magic-based attack that inflicts Armour Break, Mental Break, Poison, Curse, Silence, Slow and Delay. Whoo. To avoid this blowout (literally) of an attack, inflict it with Silence. Yes, an Original Creation has a status vulnerability.

Once you've dealt over 1/2 its HP, it retreats into its shell and gains Auto-Regen. Do not summon any Aeons at this point because it'll start regaining five or six-digit numbers of HP. It's also immune to physical attacks (not Overdrives though), so switch to Doublecasting Ultima and throwing out whatever Overdrives you've saved up thus far.

When it's down to its last 1,000,000 HP, the shell breaks and we can go to town. Re-inflict Silence and it's basically helpless from there.

Ultima Buster[]

HP: 5,000,000 (99,999)
AP: 50,000 (50,000)
Gil: 0
Vulnerabilities:

Difficulty: Medium

Sinspawn Gui's superpowered form. Like before, it has two arms that protect the "face", and you need to destroy them in order to damage the main target properly. Otherwise, it has a Defence of 255 and Armoured status, and ain't nobody got time for that.

The head and arms each have 80,000 HP, which should be an OHKO at this point. Hit the head before it uses Contamination, because it hits one character with Poison, Zombie (which we haven't had the pleasure of seeing in quite a while) Confuse, Full Break and Slow, so that's fun.

Take out the arms and go to town on the face. At 99,999 damage a pop and with Quick Hit, this thing will go down very quickly, despite the massive HP count. All it does for its own attack is a physical, and fairly obviously, Ultima. High Magic Defence will shut it down, or you can just summon an Aeon to give it a whack, soak up Ultima and let the party go from there. Because it's basically defenceless once the arms are gone, this is a comparatively easy fight.

As well as dropping Winning Formulas(e?) and Dark Matter, its weapon drops are freaking awesome. It's possible to obtain a piece of equipment with the perfect level-grinding trifecta: Triple AP, Triple Overdrive and Overdrive → AP. Farm this guy as much as you can.
