Welcome back! This time we're looking at the Original Creations of the Monster Arena -- superbosses in their own right, they're much more powerful versions of bosses you've already fought. Let's dive right in.

Also, I'm eating a banana. Fun fact for you there.

Original Creations Part 1[]

Earth Eater[]

Earth Eater
Earth Eater (FFX)

HP: 1,300,000 (99,999)
AP: 50,000 (50,000)
Gil: 0
Vulnerabilities:

  • None

Difficulty: Hard

This big bugger is just like Chocobo Eater, only on steroids and with no cliff over which to push him. He has high, unbreakable defences and Auto-Reflect, so no cheap tricks here.
Its Megaton Punch inflicts blockable instant death, and a shitload of redundant damage to boot. Auto-Protect is an absolute must from now on. If you deal 100,000 damage to it (Overdrives, hey there) it'll fall over on its back, after which it counters by bouncing Flare off its arse.
Anima tanking is a good strategy here -- it's immune to instant death and with Regen and Protect up, backed up with high Defence, you should be able to wall him.

Greater Sphere[]

Greater Sphere
Spherimorph-enemy-ffx

HP: 1,500,000 (99,999)
AP: 50,000 (50,000)
Gil: 0
Vulnerabilities:

  • None

Difficulty: Hard

It's Spherimorph's big brother (?). Like before, it has an elemental weakness but we've long since forgotten about elements. It counters regular attacks with Ultima (zzz) and Overdrives with Hydraulic Press, a troll move that makes a Finnish guy come along and crush your party for YouTube hits deals 15/16ths of your characters' maximum HP, so yes, it very much can kill you unless your party is at pretty much full health. You can reduce the damage to 15/32nds with Protect, though.

Just Anima tank the thing. You can set up the relevant buffs quickly and with high enough Magic Defence, alongside Protect and Shell you can shake off both Ultima and Hydraulic Press together, which is likely to follow your attacks and will follow Oblivion.

It's much easier to take this thing on mano a mano than it is as a party. If you plan on grinding Luck, you'll need the Luck Spheres this thing drops. Prepare to fight him a lot. It's a shame its death animation takes up more time than it should, too.

Catastrophe[]

Catastrophe
Catastrophe (FFX)

HP: 2,200,000 (99,999)
AP: 50,000 (50,000)
Gil: 0
Vulnerabilities:

  • None

Difficulty: Medium

Oh look, it's Sinspawn Genaux/ais. It comes out of its shell only after losing 1/5 of its HP. Until then it either passes turn or uses Toxic Cloud, which wrecks your party with Confuse, Poison and Curse. Confuse shouldn't be an issue, Poison can be cleared up with Al Bhed Potions and Curse, eh, depends on how badly you want to use Overdrives. Essentially, you only need to spam Quick Hit while avoiding getting taken apart by his attacks.

When it emerges, it starts using Toxic Spray which I believe doesn't actually cause Poison, but rather the more devastating Full Break. Dispel that shit immediately. Hundred Thorns is its nastiest move, requiring very high Defence and Protect to not get the party wiped out. Demi is about as relevant as it's always been.
