Well, this is going to be one of those parts where I have to leave it halfway through and go do something...I'm meeting my sister to go for a walk with her dog, and I need to buy things ;-;

That said it's a nice day, and I have about three hours longer today than I've been getting recently because I got out of bed so early. At any rate, Part 16 starts here!

There are no new enemies here. Just powered-up versions of enemies you've fought already.

Cid (Final Fantasy X)

So the Guado have come looking for Yuna, and have destroyed the place in their wake.

Those tree-dwelling god-botherers.

We meet this game's incarnation of Cid, a roughneck Al Bhed boss who's also Rikku father. Which also makes him the father of that moronic grunting freak Brother.

Al Bhed Home

When you get control, do the honourable thing and raid Keyakku's corpse. There's a pair of Hi-Potions in it for you. You'll find the Al Bhed Primer vol. XIX outside too.

Head inside. You'll be beset by fiends.

Battle: Guado Guardian, Bomb x3

The bombs are stronger than before, but can be taken out with Blizzara.

After the battle, follow your party. Apparently Cid is going to destroy Home and take the Guado with it. Good. Decisive action and sacrilege; I like it. There's another battle.

Battle: Guado Guardian, Dual Horn x2

The same strategy you used on the Mi'ihen Highroad applies here: inflict Darkness to hinder their attacks and use melee fighters.

After the battle, head downstairs BUT BE CAREFUL. Do NOT go too far or you'll miss some stuff, including an Al Bhed Primer. You can't return to Home, so make sure you pick it up now.

As soon as the camera angle changes, head back up the stairs and go into the left door. There's a battle.

Battle: Guado Guardian, Dual Horn x2

Exactly the same as before. Watch your HP levels as there are a lot of battles here.

The chest on the left contains whatever you say it does. In Al Bhed. Say the middle option on the top row for an Elixir. As for the other chest, it wants you to translate words into Al Bhed. The passwords are 'Cunno', 'Fyed' and 'Byntuh'. You'll receive a Friend Sphere. The Al Bhed Primer vol. XX is on the right table.

Home inside4

Now you can get back to the path. At the bottom of the camera angle stairs there's a chest on the left that I never noticed before -- it contains 4 Al Bhed Potions. At the three-way split, take the north path for Al Bhed Potion x6. Now take the right path -- before the door there's the Al Bhed Primer vol. XXI on the floor. Go through the door.

Battle: Guado Guardian, Chimera x2

Those Chimeras are a pain. Use Power Break and Magic Break to soften their blows. Melee to finish them off.

Afterwards, examine the somewhat hidden chest on the right. The third option, 'Oac', is what we want. Then 'Brother', 'Bikanel Island' and 'Ym Prat' to obtain a Skill Sphere. The password to the other chest is '5633', and your reward is a Special Sphere.

In the next area, there's a scene. Wakka starts to realise that maybe Yevon isn't as holy as he once thought. About time, you tropical twit.

Battle: Guado Guardian, Chimera x2

Like before. This is the last battle and you've just used the Save Sphere (I hope) so you shouldn't have problems. If you do, it's not a long walk back from the Load screen :P

Tidus still doesn't get it. This is a pretty powerful scene -- everyone runs to check on Yuna, and Tidus is left in the dark. Why does everyone go quiet when he says 'after we defeat Sin'? Why isn't guarding the summoner enough?

Escape from summoners sanctuary

Head down the stairs. To your left and right are Level 2 and Level 4 Key Spheres. Enter the north door for a long, touching scene. Tidus finally realises the impact of his naivety, and it hurts. Big time. T breaks down, and calls out Wakka and Lulu for hiding it and not trying to stop Yuna.

Dona and Isaaru explain that it's their choice; defeating Sin is all that matters, and they're willing to give their lives for the cause.

And I've been telling Yuna... Let's go to Zanarkand together! Let's beat Sin! I told her all the things we could...we could... And all along, the whole time, I didn't know anything! But Yuna, she'd...just smile.

Tidus. My heart.

So now we know exactly what we're up against. Sacrificing Yuna for ten years of peace in Spira? No way, man.

Head left and grab the 10000 Gil from the chest. Now let's get out of here. Take the south-eastern door and up the ramp.

Fahrenheit[]

Boy, don't forget those words, 'cause if you do...I'm gonna make you regret it.

Cid, smackdown-layer.

Fahrenheit bridge

It's an airship! The one we salvaged ages ago. Cid's none too happy about Yuna's pilgrimage, and calls Tidus out on his promise to 'protect' Yuna lasting only long enough to make her perform the Final Summoning, and he bodyslams Tidus into the floor. I love this guy, I really do.

Brother pilots fahrenheit

Brother's here too, and being forced to blow up his home sends him into fits of tears. Ah well. We finally have a way to cross the globe, find Yuna, and maybe do a little sidequestin' along the way.

See you in the next part! Alles beginnt hier, mein freunden.
