Zirconiade (ジルコニアエイド, Jirukoniaeido^?) is the Final Boss of Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII-. A so-called "Ultimate Summon", Zirconiade's Materia was shattered into pieces some time ago. The four pieces of the Materia were assembled by AVALANCHE's demented scientist and former apprentice to Bugenhagen, Fuhito, who used them to merge with Zirconiade in order to facilitate his plan to wipe out all life in the world and thus all threats to it.

By doing this, his natural human body became so powerful and charged by the materia that his body changed form, and held only a small part of his sanity. Unfortunately for him, his plan fell short when Zirconiade was defeated by the Turks in the Slums of Midgar.

The battle had far-reaching consequences. Most immediately, when it was destroyed, it took a whole Sector of Midgar with it--this Sector was seen, but not elaborated upon, in the beginning of Final Fantasy VII. The summoning of Zirconiade also prompts the Planet to release the Jade Weapon to defend itself. However, the Turks manage to defeat Zirconiade before the WEAPON could arrive, and become the targets of its aggression themselves.
