The Yamatano Orochi is a Soul of Rebirth boss in Final Fantasy II . It guards a treasure chest on the fifth floor of the Unknown Palace containing a Stardust Rod .
The Yamatano Orochi attacks with Poison Cloud XVI, Thunderbolt XVI, and Icestorm XVI. These attacks are not strong on their own, and with Shell cast much of the dragon's damage is reduced.
With Minwu 's Cure sufficiently leveled, he can heal the party easily of any damage inflicted while the other three members attack.
An alternate method of defeating the Yamatano Orochi is to simply cast a level 8 or higher Teleport .
