Template:Sideicon Template:Location The Yahnikurm Desert, also known as the Great Desert (グレートデザート, Gurēto Dezāto?), is a location in the original Final Fantasy. It makes up the core of the Lufenian continent, in the northeast corner of the world map. The Great Desert is also the largest desert in the game, and the Mirage Tower lies in its center. The rest of the Great Desert is simply a huge expanse of sand, and there are places within it where sand is all the player's field of vision can see.
The only border of the Great Desert that is not flanked by impassable mountain ranges is its southeast corner. The Warriors of Light must land their airship on the small grassy peninsula outside this entrance in order to reach the Mirage Tower. The bestial inhabitants of the desert are large reptilian creatures, none of which are exceptionally difficult.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy
The Yahnikurm Desert appears in Dissidia 012, named as the Mirage Sandsea. This area also includes the Lufenia area from the original Final Fantasy. The Dreams of a Flying Castle Gateway is located in the middle of the desert, referencing the Flying Fortress.
