I couldn't finish 'em. Looks like this's gonna get complicated.
Template:FFXIII-2 Enemies The Xolotl is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII-2. The fight is similar to the Enki and Enlil fight from Final Fantasy XIII. It spawns on the north-eastern platform of Academia 500 AF. The platform usually spawns Miquiztli and Xolotl together, or rarely, Tezcatlipoca on its own. Once the player has killed a set of enemies on there, no more enemies will spawn until the player closes the Academia 500 AF Time Gate. The player can capture either Miquiztli and Xolotl or Tezcatlipoca but never all three, until the gate is reopened. However, the player can choose by hopping on the platform, seeing which enemies spawn and jumping off again if necessary, whereupon the monsters will despawn.
Battle
Xolotl always appears alongside Miquiztli, and will become enraged once its partner is killed. If Miquiztli gets low on HP the Xolotl will attempt to heal it via Nature's Bounty. Once enraged, it will Bellow occasionally, removing all positive enhancements from the party and all negative ailments from the user.
Xolotl is one of the three creatures that can be summoned by a Mimi. The chances of taming a summoned Xolotl is so low as to be unassessable, but may be zero. The Mimi is accompanied by between three and five Bamapamas; the Xolotl is always summoned when there are two or three Bamapamas remaining on the field; if more, the Mimi summons a Proto-behemoth, if less, a Mánagarmr. The Mimi itself is invincible while summoning.
As Xolotl is resistant to Magic, Physical-based debuffs such as Heavy Deprotega and Curse II have an advantage.
Paradigm Pack
The Xolotl is a tameable monster, albeit difficult to obtain. It excels in the Sentinel role, and because of the high HP stat and potent damage resistance, it makes a very good choice. It is very cheap to raise to maximum level.
The passive abilities Resist Magic +36% and Resist Physical +36% are prized enough by players that they are included a good percentage of the innumerable creature 'builds' posted online, and Xolotl, like its fellow Woodwraith Tezcatlipoca, has both of them without infusion.
Xolotl and Goblin Chieftain have Improved Guard red-locked; Flandit and Lancer have it available for infusion (and Snow, for those with that DLC).
Improved Guard II strengthens the effects of the existing Steelguard, reducing damage taken from 30% of normal to 14% of normal, and it can do the same for Mediguard if and when it is infused from another monster, ideally Pulse Knight. Improved Ward from Viking can improve the Xolotl's ability to protect the party against Area of Effect attacks with its Fringeward.
It requires 66 Grade three Biological (Orb) monster materials to advance to level 20; 37 grade four Essences to maximum level of 40.
