The Kazekiri has a chance of casting Wind Slash when the holder attacks; casting Wind Slash from the Kazekiri as an Added Ability replaces the weapon's attack rather than being cast in addition to it, and will not be disabled by the Master's Scroll.
Some enemies use Wind Slash and there is also a weaker version of the attack called Gale Cut.
Wind Slash is a skill that can be learned by the Geomancer job. A Geomancer standing on either the Book, Tree, Brick, Bridge, Furnishings, Iron Plate, Moss, or Coffin terrain tile will use Wind Slash to deal Wind-elemental damage with a chance of inflicting Disable to any enemy units within five squares. It costs 150 JP to learn.
Gilgamesh can use Wind Slash as a Bravery attack where he fires a burst of wind at his opponent.
In the Japanese version, Wind Slash is called Kamaitachi. Kamaitachi is a Japanese yōkai often told about in the Kōshin'etsu region, or can also refer to the strange events that this creature causes. They appear riding on dust devils, and they cut people using the nails on both their hands that are like sickles. One would receive a sharp wound from it, but there is no pain.
