White chocobo (白チョコボ, Shirochokobo?), also capitalised as white chocobo, is a recurring type of chocobo. It is one of the rarest types of chocobo, and is a support character able to aid the party. Rarely is the white chocobo available as a mount like other chocobos.
White chocobos can be found in chocobo forests, usually one in each forest. They cannot be ridden, but when caught, it will restore 500 MP to all party members.
White chocobo can be found as an enemy in the Hakawea Shore area of the Phon Coast, but it only spawns under set circumstances. The player must go to Hakawea Shore, and ride the Wayward Chocobo towards the Pora-Pora Sands area. From there, a bangaa Game Hunter will reveal a hidden path that leads to the Caima Hills. The player must go through the path to Caima Hills, then return to Pora-Pora Sands all the way to Hakawea Shore. The white chocobo will await the player right where the Wayward Chocobo was.
The Trickster is a particularly powerful white chocobo, an Elite Mark that becomes available once the party reaches Mt Bur-Omisace. The Trickster is able to turn almost completely invisible and runs swiftly to evade the party, and is much larger than normal chocobos, standing well above the party members. It is able to use White Wind and Choco Comet.
White chocobos are found in Oerba 300 AF. They can be recruited into the Paradigm Pack as Medics, and are among the best Medics in the game, having all normal Cure spells along with Esuna, Esunada, and Raise.
Angel of Valhalla is a white chocobo Lightning finds injured on the Wildlands. After it recovers Lightning can ride it on the field and it can help Lightning in battle as a guest. In contrast to the white chocobos of Final Fantasy XIII-2, the Angel of Valhalla has a few green feathers and a tattoo above its left eye.
The white-plumed chocobo restores magickal power with its choco recharge.
White chocobos can be found in the Rupie Mountains during Greenfire. They have the second-highest move of the chocobos and have access to Choco Cure, Choco Esuna, Choco Barrier, and Choco Recharge, the latter being exclusive to the white chocobo.
The white chocobo appears as a light-elemental summon in Final Fantasy Legends II. The white chocobo's special attack Chocobo Cure restores the entire party's HP. Summoning the white chocobo costs 1 point from the Consumption Gauge.

The white chocobo is the fastest type of chocobo available in Field Music Sequences. However, they do not appear under normal circumstances, the party needs abilities or items to increase the odds of getting good chocobos during Feature Drive in order for them to appear.
