StatsEdit

Battle Edit

They appear later in the Chaos Shrine, on the first floor. The dragon appears also in the Lifespring Grotto, in a room where a dragon, Dark Bahamut, orders the party to kill some of its disciples to continue to the next level. One of the disciples may be the White Dragon, which the party can fight. They sometimes come in groups of up to four dragons.

White Dragons are not as difficult to defeat as the Red Dragon, having less HP, Attack, and stats overall; which is strange, because the party is supposed to visit the Cavern of Ice after the visit to Mount Gulg. The White Dragon is of the Ice element, and thus is weak to Fire attacks, and resistant against Ice attacks. Oddly enough, the dragon is also weak to Lightning. As with many winged enemies, the dragon is immune to Quake, and it is also invulnerable to Poison and Stone.

Even if they are weaker than their red counterparts, they still have a trick up their sleeves: Icestorm, which deals Ice damage to all party members, and can be dangerous for members with low Defense.

Strategy Edit

A single Firaga will either finish them off or leave them very weak.

Etymology Edit

A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, that features in the myths of many cultures.

Chromatic dragon is a classification of dragon in the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons who are typically of evil alignment, in contrast to the metallic dragons, and their queen is Tiamat. White, black, green, blue and red dragons are the classic chromatic dragons. Final Fantasy has derived a lot of influence from D&D, especially the early series. White dragons are the weakest and the most feral of the classic chromatic dragons. They love to swim in cold water, lair in ice caves, and their icy breath can freeze a foe solid.
