Added by XenomicWhirlwind (旋風, Senpū?), also known as Aerial Rave (エアリアルレイヴ, Eariaru Reivu?) is a recurring spell and ability in the Final Fantasy series. It does damage to all enemies, sometimes Wind-elemental and other times non-elemental. In some games, Whirlwind is an alternate name for Tornado.

Final Fantasy IV

Whirlwind, known as Tornado in the Super NES release, is an enemy ability used by Storm Dragon and Sand Worm. It deals minor non-elemental damage to the party.
In the DS version, Whirlwind is an Augment ability found in the Crystal Room of the Lodestone Cavern after defeating Barbariccia. It costs 60 MP to use and inflicts Wind damage to the target, as well as making the target weak to Fire-elemental attacks.
Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-

Whirlwind returns as a monster spell in the sequel of Final Fantasy IV. It functions the same way as it did in the prequel, and the ability is still used by Sand Worms.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

Whirlwind is an enemy ability used by the Sand Worm and Belphegor enemies. It deals lesser damage to all characters.
Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-

Whirlwind is an attack used by G Deleter. It is a cinematic attack that acts like Gravity, draining half of Zack's HP.
Final Fantasy IX

Whirlwind is an attack used by Ark, and inflicts Wind-elemental damage and Float on the party.
Final Fantasy XI

Whirlwind is another Sea Monk ability similar to Maelstrom, but inflicts Wind damage and Vitality Down instead. It cannot be learned by Blue Mages.
Great Whirlwind is an enemy ability used by Manticores, which hits a cone in front of the user for Wind damage and inflicts Choke.
Final Fantasy XII

Whirlwind is an attack used by Chaos. It deals damage equal to half the target's max HP, but is restricted by the 9,999 damage cap.
Final Fantasy XIII

Whirlwind is a spinning attack used by the Eidolon Bahamut that launches staggered foes into the air. Its Japanese name is Aerial Rave.
Final Fantasy XIII-2

Whirlwind returns as an ability exclusive for Chaos Bahamut. The animation is similar to that of Final Fantasy XIII and, like the previous game, it launches the targets into the air.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Whirlwind is a White Monk skill that inflicts non-elemental damage to all adjacent units. It is learned from the Hard Knuckles for 100 AP and has a Weapon Attack power of 25.
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Whirlwind is learned from the Claymore for 300 AP, and costs 8 MP to cast. It is used by the Raptor class, and deals Wind-elemental damage to one enemy with a chance of Confusion within four squares.
