Etymology
Edit
The Whale Whisker derives its name from the Japanese name, which is also translated as baleen, the many fibers that covered the inside mouths of baleen whales. Such material was used in fishing rods and sword hilts, as well in clothing and many items before the introduction of plastic, and was in high demand because of its durability and flexibility.
