Added by SpiraWest Ronfaure is an area in Final Fantasy XI. Part of the Ronfaure region, this wooded area lies to the west of San d'Oria's gates. Many years ago, the Orc forces captured the area surrounding Mount Ghelsba, then proceeded to relentlessly dispatch troops into the surrounding region from their newly constructed fort. The region's outpost is located in this area.

KnightwellEdit
Added by SpiraThe Knightwell is a small lake that runs just south of the mountains to the southeast of the region's outpost. This fishing spot is guarded jealously by Goblin Fishermen, and some of the creatures fished up bite back, but adventurers able to look past that will find good fish in the waters.
During the Sunbreeze Festival, adventurers can flock here to try their hand at Goldfish Scooping.
WatchtowerEdit
Added by SpiraAccessible only from Northern San d'Oria, this watch tower, built into the city wall, keeps an eye on the forest below, watching for signs of movement by the Orcs. It is here that players may undertake the Teamwork quests, which involve building parties of adventurers with certain attributes in common and showing them to the head of the watch tower, Vilatroire.
OutpostEdit

This area, built on the west side of central West Ronfaure, marks the region as participating in Conquest. The flag of the outpost changes with the nation, if any, that has taken possession of the region for this cycle of Conquest. Patriotic adventurers may bring supplies to the outpost, participate in Garrison events to defend the outpost from attack, or request for repatriation back to their home nation. Adventurers may also donate equipment to the outpost in order to boost their nation's standing in the region, so long as one of the three nations controls it.
The rabbit NM Jaggedy-Eared Jack can be found wandering east of West Ronfaure's outpost.
Stone MonumentEdit

This ancient monument to the east of the Knightwell was placed and inscribed by the legendary Gwynham Ironheart. The player must make a copy of the monument's inscription using clay and take it to Abelard in Selbina, along with the rest of the inscriptions of the monuments across the land, in order to obtain a valuable map of the Crawlers' Nest. The monument reads:
- "It has been a full ten years since I last visited this land, yet I am shocked to see Orcish warriors roaming this far south!
I saw many here in this forest, the very lap of the Kingdom, but the proud Elvaan knights don't consider them a threat.
Mark my words! Someday, hundreds - no - thousands of Orcs will bring war upon this beautiful kingdom.

Planar RiftEdit

These mysterious rifts are disturbances in the fabric of time and space. It is from here that extradimensional invaders of unknown origin, collectively known as "Voidwalkers", breach into Vana'diel. To stem the tide of invasion, adventurers may volunteer themselves in Voidwatch operations to dispatch these intruders at the source. The fiend Lancing Lamorak can be found at the Planar Rifts here.

- Two paths to the east lead to East Ronfaure.

- A path to the south leads to the La Theine Plateau.
- Bostaunieux Oubliette - (E-8)
- The back entrance to Bostaunieux Oubliette. The oubliette cannot be entered from this side as it is on top of a cliff.
- Ghelsba Outpost - (E-4)
- Orcish war flags and stick fences mark the boundaries of the territory staked out by the Orcs in the northwest corner of West Ronfaure.
MissionsEdit
- Smash the Orcish Scouts: The adventurer must defeat Orcish Fodder, located in West Ronfaure, East Ronfaure, Ghelsba Outpost, or La Theine Plateau, and retrieve an Orcish Axe as proof of the deed.
- Prestige of the Papsque: The adventurer must defeat a powerful orc, Marauder Dvogzog, located in the area. The area it is fought in may only be accessed by entering West Ronfaure through the Bostaunieux Oubliette.

West Ronfaure, like East Ronfaure, carries its eponymous theme as its background song. As this was one of the few tracks of Final Fantasy XI's original soundtrack to be composed by Nobuo Uematsu, it's also one of the few tracks to be played outside of the Final Fantasy XI community, and has gained popularity as a result.
When the player engages in battle in West Ronfaure alone, the "Battle Theme" plays. If the player engages in a battle with other party members, "Battle Theme #2" plays.
