The Werewolf is a species of monster and a specific monster in Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. They are physical brutes that pack a punch. One of the more annoying abilities of Werewolves is their Roar skill, which neutralizes all buffs on the field.

Ferocious creatures, part man, part beast. They shred their prey with razor-sharp claws.

Zaghnal FFTA2

Loup-garou FFTA2

A werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope, is "a person who changes for periods of time into a wolf, typically when there is a full moon."

The Loup-Garou's (some alternate spellings include "Rougarou", Roux-Ga-Roux, Rugaroo, and Rugaru) name is actually equivalent to 'Werewolf'. In French, Loup means 'wolf', while garou(from 'garulf') is a man who transforms into an animal.

The Zaghnal is an Indian war hammer or axe.

In Akkadian mythology, Humbaba (Assyrian spelling) or Huwawa (Babylonian) was a monstrous giant of immemorial age raised by Utu, the Sun. Humbaba/Huwawa was also the guardian of the Cedar Forest where the gods lived. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh slays Humbaba for fame and glory.
