The Werewolf is a giant/behemoth-type enemy in the game Final Fantasy XII. It is located in the southern part of the Giza Plains during the Dry period. The party should avoid it at the beginning of the game, since they can kill the party in one hit.

The Werewolf's sword also appears in the background of most weapon shops, chained to the wall.

Classification: Behemoth

Page 1: ObservationsEdit

"The story of this strange, man-like creature began, it is said, when a group of bandits ate the corrupted flesh of a wolf, becoming infected and changing form. Indeed, like the wolf, these afflicted beings are known to feed with relish upon rotting flesh. As carrion-feeders oft develop strong resistance to illness, some natural philosophers have urged detailed study of the creature in hopes of culling reagents for medicants from their flesh."

Page 2: Talk About TownEdit

"You've heard the famous saying that a good steak is worth ten-fold its weight in potions? Of course you have! Now, that saying's older than I am, and potions and philtres have come a long way since I was a lad, but you have to admit it still has the ring of truth about it! Eat a quality steak, look me in the eye, and tell me it doesn't invigorate you!" Irrim, Apothecary

Power-leveling TrickEdit

The Werewolf is part of the famous power-leveling trick. Before doing this, Vaan should have a Gladius and at least two Quickenings. Balthier and Fran should not yet joined, so this leveling up strategy should be employed before sneaking into the palace. Later in the game all characters will enter the party at a level similar to Vaan's, so by leveling up Vaan alone, the player is actually leveling up all six characters simultaneously. After Penelo leaves the party after going to see Old Dalan, Vaan will get the Auto-Attack gambit, making it much easier to level on the Werewolves. After killing the Werewolves the player can exit the area to the Crystal Glade without touching the Save Crystal, and exit out the other side, run back to the area of the Werewolves, and they will have respawned. This allows the player to rack up a large battle chain, increasing the quality of received loot.
