Weapon Break (ウェポンブレイク, Wepon Bureiku?), also known as Rend Weapon or Dismantle, is a recurring ability in the series. It generally either destroys the target's equipped weapon or lowers their attack power.

### Final Fantasy XIEdit

Weapon Break is a Great Axe Weapon Skill, requiring 175 Combat Skill. It deals one hit which lowers the target's Attack, and with TP enhancements will increase the Attack Down duration. Weapon Break can be chained into Impaction.

Weapon Break is part of the Knight's skillset, learned for 400 JP. In the original PlayStation version, this ability was useless against enemies that cannot equip weapons, but will now instead deal damage to anything that does not have a weapon in the PSP remake. The success rate of Rend Weapon breaking the target's weapon, if it has one, is:
