The Watchbeast is a boss in Final Fantasy Dimensions. It is the guardian beast of the Crystal of Lux, manifesting when it senses the crystal in danger. Though Sol's party was unaware of the time, the Watchbeast attacked in response to Elgo's presence among them.
The watchbeast isn't that much of a threat, and is a very easy boss. It will not attack much except when it casts Blaze on the party, which can take out a severe amount of the party's HP. Diana should be always ready to heal everyone. It is weak to Fire, so Aigis' fusion ability and Elgo's Fire spells should deal the most damage. Sol and Glaive can help by delivering physical attacks (Glaive with equipped Metal Claw is a great help). This battle is scripted – when the beast's HP is down, it will use Soul Despair, which will leave the party with single-digit HP. After this, the battle will be over and a cutscene will start.
The battle will be tougher without Elgo's level 3 spells, but not exactly threatening. Sarah and Alba should be placed on the back row, so they can safely focus on healing and attacking with Fire respectivelly. Nacht and Dusk should just attack. Eventually the watchbeast will use Soul Despair once more, however this time the battle continues and therefore healing is of essence as the party will be left at single digits, which will likely kill them if they are damaged. If that is dealt with, the battle will pose no problem.
