The Warrior (せんし, Senshi?), also known as the Fighter, is the most versatile member of the Warriors of Light. He has access to the best weapons and armor available, and has impressive Strength and Stamina. The Warrior also has the most HP out of any character class. His main drawback is his dependence on powerful equipment, making him a rather expensive class to maintain.
The Warrior's sprite was originally depicted with red hair in the NES version of Final Fantasy. He was depicted with dishwater blond hair in the WonderSwan Color version and has remained as such in all subsequent releases. His artwork depicts him of having dark blue armor and horns on his helmet, and the FMV depicts him with white hair.

After completing the Citadel of Trials, Bahamut, the Dragon King, upgrades the Warrior to the rank of Knight (ナイト, Naito?). As a Knight, he is able to equip nearly every weapon and armor in the game and is able to cast low-level White Magic spells. In all versions, it is recommended to promote the Warrior sooner than later, as being upgraded too late runs the risk of decreased spell charges (MP in later editions). The costume looks exactly the same except inverted colors and a head ornament and a cape.

Name OriginsEdit
In the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary versions, there are ten optional Auto-Names for the different character classes. Each name is a reference to another character or location name in the Final Fantasy series. The ten names for the Warrior class are:
- Argus - Location in Final Fantasy III.
- Arus - Character in Final Fantasy III.
- Banon - Character in Final Fantasy VI.
- Baron - Location in Final Fantasy IV.
- Desh - Character in Final Fantasy III.
- Doma - Location in Final Fantasy VI.
- Giott - Character in Final Fantasy IV.
- Leo - Character in Final Fantasy VI.
- Sasune - Location in Final Fantasy III.
- Zeza - Character in Final Fantasy V.
In addition, the name Cloud from Final Fantasy VII was used in screenshots for the Origins manual.

Dissidia Final FantasyEdit

Chaos has summoned a combined force of Final Fantasy's ultimate masters of evil. Cosmos, in attempt to protect the Crystals, has summoned warriors to thwart their plans. The Warrior of Light is one of these warriors and stands as the hero representing the original Final Fantasy, opposing Garland, and eventually rises as the leader of the Warriors of Cosmos.
The Warrior of Light harbors no doubts or hesitations about his duty to Cosmos, and works tirelessly to find his Crystal and defeat the forces of Chaos. Though Chaos's villains appear to battle him and attempt to trick him and sway his resolve, the Warrior remains stalwart and continues onward in his quest in their wake, determined to prevail against evil. The Warrior is also the first Warrior of Cosmos to learn the true nature of the war between the gods from Garland.
The Warrior of Light's alternate outfit is a red palette swap based on an alternate artwork by Yoshitaka Amano.
Dissidia 012 Final FantasyEdit
The Warrior of Light reappears as a Warrior of Cosmos in the prequel to Dissidia Final Fantasy alongside all the other characters from the original. Here he is again Cosmos' guardian and the leader of the heroes. However, when the Manikins appear for the first time and threaten to overwhelm the warriors, he and Kain make a pact to defeat their comrades so they may live to the next cycle, as if they lose to the manikins they will not be revived.
When he attempts to dispatch Lightning he admits his plan to her and Cosmos, and Lightning takes the remaining heroes to stop the flow of manikins, leaving the Warrior to guard Cosmos. In the game's climax the Warrior single-handledly guards Cosmos from an army of manikins until she expends her power to destroy them and save his life.
Dissidia 012 also reveals the Warrior's true origins. He is an advanced manikin created by Cid of the Lufaine and infused with Cid's memories to give him a sense of self. Set down in World B, he is found by Garland and Prishe who fight to determine who will take him to their respective god. Prishe defeats Garland and takes the Warrior to Cosmos to be made one of her warriors. Prishe later gives the Warrior a name, but the player does not discover what it is, and by the timeline of the games he has forgotten both it and Prishe, only retaining a faint memory of an unknown person calling him by name.
In his second alternate outfit, the Warrior of Light takes off his helmet and his armor and hair are colored bright red to reflect the original NES Final Fantasy Warrior and Knight sprites. As a bonus fourth downloadable outfit, the Warrior wears his normal armor but without his helmet, as he appears in flashbacks.
Theatrhythm Final FantasyEdit
The Warrior of Light is a playable character in the Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.
His special ability is Class Change, which grants 50% damage reduction during a Battle Music Sequence after reaching a chain of 70.
Final Fantasy Trading Card GameEdit
There is a trading card in the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game that depicts the Warrior of Light's alternate outfit.
