Well since the name of this page "Final Fantasy Wiki: Walkthroughs" is a very broad topic, I don't see why it all can't be moved here. Less is more when it comes to directories and User Help.
Henryacores - "É que esta noite vou lançar ao mar/A bruma que houver em mim./Vou beber e cantar este luar/vou dançar até ao fim." TALK- {time}
I only put the link to markup because I thought it could serve as a help to new users who want to make walkthroughs. If you want, you can put the basics on the intro youself.
I only made this page for navigation. Now your walkthroughs will be acessed more easily BH.
I've noticed something about the Walkthrough namespace: If you're viewing a subpage, then the links up to higher-level pages aren't shown at the top. For example, when viewing Walkthrough:Final Fantasy Tactics/Zerobandwidth/Missions/0.1: To Orbonne, there are no links back to the Missions page directly above it. Similarly, the Missions page doesn't show a link to the top page. Is this something that can be changed in the namespace's configuration, or would the authors have to add explicit links at the top of every walkthrough subpage?

There are alot of "abandoned" walkthroughs. I remember BlueHighwind cleaning them up one month. What happened? Should anything be done about it? I will gladly VFD my CC walkthrough since my PSP is broken and Henry is way farther than me right now. But I plan to continue my FFX-2 walkthrough once my cousin gives me his PS2 in December.
BlueHighwindQ? TALK - This Land is Made of... LOVE AND PEACE!! LOVE AND PEACE!! ツ:
I tried to, but I don't have Deletion powers. Some Admin, I don't remember if it was Bluerfn or Crazyswords refused to delete the abandoned pages that I VFD'd. So nothing was done. There should be some kind of rule about abandoned Walkthroughs. Maybe a Time-Table or something.
"If no serious work has been done on the Walkthrough for one year while it is in a state of incompletion without a good explanatory circumstance for the lack of progress, the Walkthrough will be deleted." How's that?
EDIT: We could probably use somebody in command of the Walkthrough section to patrol this sort of thing.
Azul- "...When will Versus get a release date? Who is John Galt?..." TALK - {time}
Sounds good. Yeah, I think a Time-Table will work. Like at the To-Do-List. After so much time goes by and it has not been edited, the writter should be contacted and if they don't reply back, it's deleted. Simple as that.
I have read the guide to writing walkthroughs, but i still dont know how to creat one. Can someone please help me with this? It would be much appreciated.
This page is a mess. Because each sub-page/template uses a different format/no format no doubt. We need to propose a standard for the format of this page. We also need to propose a method of working out whether a walkthrough needs to be destroyed. We can safely say completed walkthroughs can stay. But if a walkthrough belongs to a user that isn't active no longer, then walkthroughs should be killed off.
Actually, a way to make this page neater is to only have completed walkthroughs. Only one a walkthrough is completed can it be placed here. If someone wants a walkthrough, they probably want a complete one. ILHI 19:43, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
I would agree with that, actually. It may also motivate the other users to finish said walkthroughs. Drake Clawfang 19:47, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Agreement? Remove unfinished walkthroughs from this page and give a standard. *DS Walkthrough by BlueHighwind. seems pretty simple. ILHI 21:05, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
ILHI, I finished that. You need to pay attention. --BlueHighwind ツ 01:41, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
If you did it than you can't have done a good job because this page still looks like a mess. ILHI 16:32, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
He means that he finished his walkthrough and wants to know why you are using it as a standard for an unfinished walkthrough. Which means that either I or he needs to reread what was going on above, because I though that you were using it as a standard finished walkthrough. - Ninja of Wind- 22:22, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh, I see. I was confused because he misinterpreted it. Although I could've sworn there was someone who cleaned this page up before me. BH: I'm referring to standardising the lists, I actually was saying that walkthrough is complete, I just took it at random. If all finished walkthroughs are on this page and in that standard, and all unfinished are not, that'd be good. ILHI 22:27, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Wait a minute! All unfinished? I'm still working on mine and I don't think I have given up yet, especially since I was just working on it today. - Ninja of Wind- 01:13, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
We mean removal from this page. And I agree. - Henryacores^ 01:33, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
OK then, I agree. That just means I'll have to go the long way to find my walkthrough. I'll still be able to look it up on the search engine, right? - Ninja of Wind- 01:40, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Yes. You can always bookmark things. - Henryacores^ 01:52, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm doing this now, and tomorrow. Although if anyone else knows what they're doing they can finish it off. ILHI 22:27, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm sorry to ask, but, WHAT HAPPENED TO MY WALKTHROUGH? I was really enjoying writing it and would follow it through to the end but deleted? I know it was not complete. I sound so stupid, don't I? 1stclasswarrior 18:10, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
So it's still there, but I can't add it in the category? What if someone does not like the walkthroughs listed or were, (like me) following a different walkthrough? To me it seems so stupid.... But what's done is done.... 1stclasswarrior 18:14, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
People only want to read finished walkthroughs. When a walkthrough is finished they can add it. It's not stupid in the slightest. 80% of walkthroughs are never finished, and they just crowd the page needlessly. ILHI 18:16, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Now it's making sense. If you can still write it and add it in when finished I have no complaints. I just logged on and it took me as a suprise... I was here about 2 hours ago but it was not like that then. Sorry for the fuss. 1stclasswarrior 18:20, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Is there a page where I can find the unfinished FFXII walkthroughs? Judge Balthier 17:20, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
not wishing to sound like an idiot, but everytime i do as the help page says and write walkthroughto start mine off, it just keeps going to the list of walkthroughs, anyone help?
I can't help but notice that there aren't any walkthroughs of the PS1 version of FF IV. Does the PS1 version differ in any major way from the others to the extent that it affects the usefulness of the existing walkthroughs?
Yes, it does. The translation is radically different from the GBA and DS versions. While the translation may be similar to the SNES version, the PS version has more abilities, items, and other things removed from the SNES version.
The PS version is the J2e version released however many years later with a new shiny, not very different from the official SNES, translation.
BTW, I hate you. People forget the PS version, and the J2e version which many are familiar with, exist. REMEMBER THEM! (I have all the PlayStation versions of the games, I'm hardly going to forget they exist) ILHI 21:24, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Starting a Final Fantasy I walkthrough on the original NES Edit
In case for games where no 100% completed walkthrough existed yet, I would advocate an easy way for visitors to discover the partially complete walkthroughs (with big warnings about the lack of completion). Perhaps something like a page of Walkthrough:Index of incomplete walkthroughs, then say for example if there are incomplete walkthroughs for Final Fantasy X-2 and no complete ones, the Final Fantasy X-2 section of this page would say:
No complete walkthroughs thus far, but some incomplete walkthroughs exist.
*bump* It'd certainly make it easier to manage the list of "In progress" walkthroughs on the To-Do List. It doesn't even have to be a separate index; it can just be a subsection of this one, or we could have each game's walkthrough list split into complete and incomplete.
I don't know about anyone else, but I personally think that it could be useful to have a few users visit a walkthrough while it's in progress, for the purposes of constructive criticism. In most cases, it's probably easier to implement any proposed changes (if any good ones crop up, that is) while the walkthrough is still in its early stages than it would be to try and make big alterations after finishing the whole thing!

can some on please make a walkthrough for FFVII CRISIS CORE PLEASE
I notice that there aren't any guides for older versions of some games, like the NES version of FFI or the SNES version of FFVI. If I were to create guides for these versions, where should I categorize them? King NothingSpeak now, vermin! 12:31, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
Same as the other walkthroughs, and note the version in brackets. We do have a SNES FF6 walkthrough though, CSM's. DoreikuKuroofangu 12:35, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
That's what I thought, I just wanted to make certain. And on that note, I guess I'll work on that SNES guide for IV (and then the NES guide for FFI).... King NothingSpeak now, vermin! 11:27, April 22, 2010 (UTC)
AlVan - I'm the leading man, you know. TALK- {time}
If nobody else is up for it, I'll write a walkthrough for it. But first, I wanna see if more experienced walkthrough writers (like User:BlueHighwind or User:HamFruitCake) would want to write it.
Paramina has one in progress, though I haven't seen much work on it for a while... and as for BlueH, forget it.
...but anyway, there's no quota on how many we can have. I still say that it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a list for incomplete walkthroughs, but that's an old discussion... Anyway, if you want to write one, you might as well dive right in : )

Never mind, some guy's almost through with writing one. I might be good at a XII walkthrough though...
