Rank II marks:

Wyvern Lord[]

Hunt 08: A Scream from the Sky
XII wyvern lord render

Location: Nam-Yensa Sandsea/Simoon Bluff
Level: 18
HP: 18,669
Steal: Yensa Scale, Crooked Fang, Wyvern Wing
Petitioner: Sherral (Rabanastre/Amal's Weaponary)
Rewards: 1000 Gil, Longbow, Shell Shield

One look at the picture and you know it's a flying enemy. Two options, ranged weapons or magicks. Equip some Windbreakers and make sure weapons are not wind-elemental. The Telekinesis technick is also useful, but if you're fighting this dragon in early stages, there's no way you can get that.

A cheater's tip: cast Sleep on the Wyvern Lord. Once it hits you can go offensive with magicks without waking it up!

Enkelados[]

How to find: Kill all the Wus in The Shred, move one zone away then return.

Hunt 10: The Defense of Ozmone Plain
XII enkelados render

Location: Ozmone Plain/The Shred
Level: 22
HP: 18,709
Steal: Potion, Earth Magicite, Slaven Harness
Petitioner: Low-chief Sugumu (Jahara/Elderknoll)
Rewards: 1100 Gil, Ether, Golden Amulet (Extra: Errmonea Leaf)

Enkelados is quite the fast and easy win. With Belias and some quickenings this giant will be down in no time. Or, you could bring in a Berserked and Haste tank, then start hammering. The giant would eventually heal itself, bring HP back to 50%. It will use Purify once in battle to remove status aliments, followed by White Wind, which makes it immune to all status aliments for two minutes.

A cheater's tip: Enkelados can also be affected by Disable and Immobilize, so the Nihopaloa-Remedy trick when Enkelados is at half-health will allow for an easy take-down.

The Shred is also the place where the Rare Game Bull Croc spawns, and if you're lucky, the foe will spawn alongside with the mark! Haha... two birds with one stone. The show's not over yet. If the player defeats the Bull Croc, another Rare Game, Aeros might spawn in the Henne Mines and fly out to engage in battle. Three birds with one stone! How lucky is that?

Give the Errmonea Leaf received after defeating the mark to Lesina in the the nomad village in Giza Plains. With this Lesina will reward the player with two Remedies.

Croakadile[]

Hunt 11: A Ring in the Rain
XII croakadile render

Location: Giza Plains - The Rains/Starfall Field
Level: 24
HP: 19,449
Steal: Horn, Pointed Horn, Aries Gem
Petitioner: Sadeen (Giza Plains - The Rains/Nomad Village)
Rewards: 1200 Gil, Serpent Rod, Teleport Stone (Extra: Ring of the Toad)

This toad is a healing maniac. It can cast Renew and Angelsong which inflicts Regen. When 60% of HP is lost, it doubles its levels with Growing Threat! It's attacks are accompanied with Sleep, which can be very annoying at times.

However fear not, with Fire spells at hand, this toad is an easy win. For extra (and quick) damage, summon Belias once battle starts and after he leaves, go frenzy with the fire spells. Equip Nishijin Belts to protect against the Sleep. Spreading the party will ensure that Aqua Bubbles doesn't hit every member. Ninja-dodge those!

Sadeen will ask the player to give the Ring of the Toad to Elder Brunoa during the dry season. When she recieves the ring, Elder Brunoa will tell the story of Sadeen. See Sadeen for a second time during the Rains will reveal the truth. This does not earn you any rewards though, just side stories.

Ixtab[]

Hunt 12: The Dead Ought Sleep Forever
XII ixtab render

Location: Henne Mines/Phase 1 - Shaft
Level: 24
HP: 22,562
Steal: Dark Crystal, Book of Orgain-Mille, Flame Shield
Petitioner: High-chief Zayalu (Jahara/Elderknoll)
Rewards: 1300 Gil, Ether, Soul Powder

Bah! A ghost foe! He can hit you. and you can hit him too. Ixtab relies on physicals, Undead summons, Doom and some other status aliments. You can either summon an Esper for the status immunity, or rely on regular attacks and items. The ghost is vulnerable to a few statuses too, so the Nihopalaoa + Remedy trick will work. Ixtab delivers wind and water -ra spells, so be sure to equip appropriate shields and armor.

A cheater's tip: Undead? No problem! with Holy and a few cure spells, you're ready to go!
