Introduction[]

Hello and welcome to Part 28 of MystRay's Final Fantasy XII Walkthrough! So, Final Fantasy XIII-2 was released today. I have a copy pre-ordered, but since we got it through Amazon, it won't get here until Saturday... Anyway, let's get this tower over with! For now...

The Second Reach[]

Amano Morning Song

Ummm... I've run out of pictures of this place!

So here we are in The Reach, and there are different altars scattered around the room. What you need to do is touch the one you would like to give up. There are four of them. One for weapons, one for magic, one for items, and one for the mini-map. I personally give up Items everytime I go through here. They're really not that useful. The only other one that sane people give up is the Mini-Map which I don't care for either. When you've made your choice, go through the now unlocked door behind you.

The next area is called the Station of Banishment. Here you'll meet up with some new enemies! We have the very annoying Crusader. These skeletons are just plain out annoying. Not hard, but annoying. You'll also meet the Bune. These guys can hit hard, but they're not very hard. The easiest way to get through this place is stay in the southern rooms, and go to the south-western corner. You'll see a staircase going up. Take it up and go to the next area.

This area is the Station of Suffering. What joyful names huh? Anyway, you'll meet the Reaver here. They're easy. Same drill here. Just go along the southern rooms to the south-eastern corner this time and go up the stairs.

The new area is the Station of Ascension. This one isn't as easy. We have to walk out to the circle, up to the north-east corner and then over to the north-western corner... Along the way, you'll meet three new enemies. All extremely easy. The Zombie Warlock, the Necrofiend, and the Abaddon.

In the next area, the Reach of the Damned, you'll see a beloved Save Crystal! After saving, walk over to the south-west corner and go into the next area.

The next area is The Bounds of Truth. This should look familiar. Walk forward until...

Boss Battle: Fenrir
Ffxii-fenrir
Level: 49
Elemental Affinities
HP: 112,832 XiiFire -Immune XiiIce -Immune
MP: 756 XiiEnergy - Immune XiiWater - Immune
Steal: Beastlord Hide, Beastlord Horn, Behemoth Steak XiiAir - Absorbs XiiEarth - Weak
Diffuculty: Easy XiiHoly - Immune XiiDark - Immune

This guy is a beast. You might be a little surprised at how hard he can hit. Trust me. He hits HARD! If you're using Vaan in this fight, unequip his weapon since we don't want Vaan healing him do we? Although we can safely say that is something he would probably do... If Vaan dies, just switch him out for someone else, and if you keep up your offense and defense, he'll fall eventually.

Once he's dead (sort of...), go back to reality and continue on. In the next room, , you can give back your sacrifice and continue on, and the lift will finally come up for us to use! Take the life up to continue on.

The next room, the Reach of the Occult, contains a Save Crystal! The only thing to do here is to touch the Way Stone, so do that!

The Third Reach of Death[]

Just to shed some light on this dismal place...

This is easily the worst of the three Ascents. You'll see why soon enough. This place is death incarnate! There are these Sigils and they're color coded and if you hit the wrong one three times, you'll be thrust into the pit of no return (it's possible to survive, but it's very hard), so follow my every instruction! First you'll meet some newbies called Purobolos. They're a piece of cake. First, use the Black Sigil. Kill the bombs in front of you, then go to the giant square room. Kill the easy Cataract Aevis and then go south to the seemingly dead end. Hit the Fool's Facade and go in. There may be some treasure chest in here. If there are, it'll be something good. If there isn't, it's not the end of the world. Use the Green Sigil you find in the Fool's Facade. Now you'll be in a place without coverage of the map. Just take the right side and open any Fool's Facade you come across until you make it out to more Sigils. After killing the Aeronite, use the Red Sigil. In the next area, you'll be faced with 2 Aeronites. Run forward, grab the chest, then hit the Sigil of the color that the rooms turned in the Second Ascent. If you chose Items, like me, you'll hit the Yellow Sigil. In the next area, kill the enemies, then go towards the seemingly dead end without a pillar at the end. You guessed it! Another Fool's Facade! Hit it and take the Way Stone. Now, before taking the Dais of Ascendence in the next room, CAST FLOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stress this enough. With Float on, the boss coming up will be a whole heck of a lot easier. So now, when you're ready, take the elevator and we'll be engaged with our next Esper!...

Esper Battle: Hashmal
FFXII hashmall
Level: 50
Elemental Affinities
HP: 209,060 XiiFire -Immune XiiIce -Immune
MP: 999 XiiEnergy - Immune XiiWater - Immune
Steal: Leo Gem, Hi-Ether, High Arcana XiiAir - Weak XiiEarth - Absorbs
Diffuculty: Easy XiiHoly - Immune XiiDark - Immune

This guy is a piece of cake. IF you have Float cast. If you don't, prepare for a challenge. He can hit pretty hard, and his regular attacks can inflict Disease, so heal that with Cleanse, but otherwise, nothing else of his can hit! Roxxor and Quakeja won't touch you! So have fun with a very easy Esper! For beating him, you'll obtain Hashmal, Bringer of Order! One of my favorites.

Once you've beaten Hashmal, you'll be in the Empyrean Ravel. A nice long walk to reflect on how we've just conquered the Pharos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sort of... We've still got some more bosses at the end of this area, so beware. But for now, just have a breather. You'll get a cutscene, and be transported a way through the area. Save at the Save Crystal, get all your buffs on and head on!

The Sun-Cryst[]

At the top of the Pharos, we get some more cutscenes! Watch them yourself since this is one of the coolest scenes in the game. This whole sequence gives me shivers. You have a fight that is so easy, I'm not even going to put a box for you. Murder Gabranth!!! Once you beat Gabranth however...

Boss Battle: Dr. Cid
Ffxii-cid
Level: 50
Elemental Affinities
HP: 82,093 XiiFire -Halves XiiIce -Halves
MP: 999 XiiEnergy - Halves XiiWater - Halves
Steal: Hi-Potion, Ketu Board, Magepower Shishak XiiAir - Halves XiiEarth - Halves
Diffuculty: Easy XiiHoly - Weak XiiDark - Absorbs

Cid by himself is pathetic. He has Gatling Gun, but otherwise just get him down to half HP, then he'll summon Femfrit (see below). Once Famfrit is disposed of, finish him off!

Esper Battle: Famfrit
Famfrit FFXII
Level: 52
Elemental Affinities
HP: 149,060 XiiFire -Weak XiiIce -Immune
MP: 999 XiiEnergy - Immune XiiWater - Absorbs
Steal: Aquarius Gem, Elixir, High Arcana XiiAir - Immune XiiEarth - Immune
Diffuculty: Medium XiiHoly - Immune XiiDark - Immune

So when Famfrit gets summoned, Cid is immune to any type of damage, so we have two people attacking us at once! This can actually get pretty tough. Just watch your HP, since they can stack their big attacks which could easily spell certain doom for you people. Once you beat him, see above.

After killing them, watch the epic cutscenes! Now we'll be setting up for the finale! But it's gonna be a bit before we actually go to the finale. Next time, we get to go hunting! This is Myst signing off! Have a good day!
