Okay, so we're done with the Monster Arena for awhile. Now, it's time to finish up the ultimate weapon hunt!
[edit] Return to Remiem
Now, go grab a Chocobo and go back to Remiem Temple. Talk to Belgemine and fight her version of Anima. Use Bahamut for an easy win. The first win will get you 60 Stamina Springs, and subsequent wins will get you 10 Mana Spheres. Now that you have the Blossom Crown and the Flower Scepter, you can enter the back room of Remiem. Here' you'll meet another Fayth. This is the Fayth of several villains from Final Fantasy IV: Sandy, Cindy, and Mindy, the Magus Sisters. But they became bugs! What the hell is going on?
Anyway, back outside, choose to fight Belgemine's version of the Magus Sisters. Use Anima. When you win, you'll get 40 Shining Gems the first time and 12 Power Spheres for subsequent wins. Also, Belgemine will give you the opportunity to send her. Do this and you'll get the Moon Sigil, which is an ingredient in Yuna's ultimate weapon.
Now, go back to the shrine in Macalania, because we can now get Yuna and Auron's ultimate weapons ready for use! Once you power them up, here's what they look like. First, is Auron's Masamune:
- Break Damage Limit
- Triple Overdrive
- Counterattack
- First Strike
Also, this weapon will allow Yojimbo to break the Damage Limit. But we don't use Yojimbo anyway because he sucks and costs money. Yuna's Nirvana looks like this:
- Break Damage Limit
- Triple Overdrive
- Double AP
- One MP Cost
Also, this weapon will allow Valefor to break the Damage Limit! Now, all of our Aeons can break 9,999 HP damage.
Equip Yuna's ultimate weapon, but not Auron's just yet.
[edit] Back to Bikanel
We now have six of our ultimate weapons ready for use! But we still have to finish up Rikku's ultimate weapon! Well, we have to fix that, don't we? (ButCSMwedon'tlikeRikkuandweneveruseher...SILENCE! I taught you how to love Gau and Relm and by God I'm going to teach you that Rikku is just like them in usefulness!) Fly the airship back to Bikanel. Make sure Wakka and Auron are equipped with their catching weapons, because we have to catch 10 of each of the monsters here. See Part 16 for a complete list, and keep in mind you don't have to capture the machina here.
Now, go all the way to the western area of the desert. Remember that Cactuar stone overlooking a valley? Check it out. You'll now have to find 10 Cactuars and play a game with them. They're hidden all over the desert in all the areas, and once you kill one, you have to go all the way back here and check the stone again to get the next one to appear, so it's a pain in the ass, but you have to do it. Here's what you have to do: when you find one of the Cactuars, you have to play a game of "Red Light, Green Light 1,2,3" with them. You can only move when they're facing away from you, or you lose. If you don't approach them within a certain amount of time, you also lose. If you get to the Cactuar before time runs out, you have to fight him. If you win, you'll get his Sphere. If you lose three times to the same Cactuar, you'll get a Sphere del Perdedor. I recommend saving before playing each game. Anyway, here are the Cactuar locations:
- The first Cactuar is at the Oasis.
- The second Cactuar is in the eastern area, running around in the path that juts out near the entrance to the central area.
- The third Cactuar is in the western area, near the sign that tells you about a 20% discount somewhere in Al Bhedian.
- The fourth and fifth Cactuars are in the central area playing near the ruins.
- The sixth Cactuar is in the eastern area in the tent with the Save Point.
- The seventh Cactuar is in one of the chests in the main part of the central area (not in the ruins).
- The eighth Cactuar is in one of the sand pits in the western area.
- To find the ninth Cactuar, you'll have to go all the way back to the Oasis. It'll see you and go up to the Airship. Follow it onto the Airship and go to the upper deck, where you'll catch it.
- The tenth and final Cactuar is right next to the Cactuar stone.
Now, the sandstorm will go away and you can enter the area it blocked. Inside here there are two chests. The first one has an item that depends on how many games you won with the Cactuars:
- 0-1 games: No prize
- 2 games: Potion
- 3-5 games: Elixir
- 6-7 games: Megalixir
- 8-10 games: Friend Sphere
The other chest will hold the Mercury Sigil, which is the last item you need for Rikku's ultimate weapon!
Now, go back to Macalania and show Rikku's Godhand off. It'll then become activated and ready to use! Here's what it has on it:
- Break Damage Limit
- Triple Overdrive
- Double AP
- Gillionaire
Rikku should now be in the party at the end of each battle so you can get double your Gil, which you WILL need. The other characters that should be in the party at the end of the battle are Yuna, Kimahri, and Wakka, since they also have Double AP on their ultimate weapon. But Wakka is catching enemies, so he's stuck killing enemies without getting the bonus since his catching weapon doesn't have the bonus. Anyway, you now have everyone's ultimate weapons! Now, we can go onto the hardest dungeon of all: the Omega Ruins! But that's for next time.
