Okay, now we have one more thing to do before venturing off into a new area:

Contents

[edit] LLLUUUCCCCCCAAA!!!, Again

I hope those blades move, because then it would be a sweet ultimate weapon.

Now, take the Airship back to Luca. There, go to the Besaid Aurochs' locker room. Outside you'll find another Jecht's Sphere. He'll talk about how he kept telling baby Tidus to give up on his dream because he's so full of himself he doesn't think anyone can beat him. Jecht also teaches a young Auron about Blitzball. Inside the locker room, you'll find the Jupiter Crest on one of the lockers, which is an ingredient for Wakka's ultimate weapon. Now, we get to find the weapon itself, which is also in Luca. Go to the bar downtown and talk to the bartender. If she asks to see the Celestial Mirror, show it to her. If not, you need to play some more Blitzball! If you choose to show it to her, you'll get Wakka's World Champion. You can't equip it yet though.

[edit] The Mi'ihen Highroad and Mushroom Rock again

Now, go up to the Mi'ihen Highroad. Capture 10 of all the enemies I mentioned in Part 7 of this Walkthrough, and don't forget the enemies that only show up in the canyon north of the Travel Agency! There's also another Jecht's Sphere somewhere in the canyon, so get that, too. In this one, Jecht wants to fight the Chocobo Eater. I wouldn't want to do that if I were him. Oh wait, I would, since I usually like to bust in and mow down everyone in raids. Now, go to Mushroom Rock Road. There's an elevator near the entrance in an area you couldn't reach before. Go up the elevator and examine the shine there. The Rusty Sword will react with the Celestial Mirror to create the Masamune, which is Auron's ultimate weapon. You can't equip it yet though.

This really doesn't look like the Masamune at all...

Now, go into Mushroom Rock towards the area where you fought Operation Mi'ihen. Once you get close, look around the elevator for Auron's Sphere. This is the last of these items. It's a scene between a young Auron and Kinoc, who will tell him to guard Braska well. Auron then leaves on his first pilgrimage. At this point, you've collected all of these items, so Auron will also learn his final Overdrive: Tornado! Also, while you're here, capture 10 of all the monsters I mentioned in Part 7 of the walkthrough. We now just have three places left to go that have monsters we need to capture! But we're not going there just yet. First, we're going to a place we haven't been in the longest while...

But before that, we have to revisit the shrine in Macalania. Show it the World Champion, the Jupiter Crest, and Jupiter Sigil and Wakka's ultimate weapon will be complete! Here's its abilities:

  • Break Damage Limit
  • Triple Overdrive
  • Double AP
  • Evade & Counter

Also, this weapon allows Ifrit to break the 9,999 damage limit!

[edit] A rematch with the fish

It doesn't look ANYTHING like this in game.

Now, go back to the airship and go to the place where you input the coordinates. Check near (12,57) to unlock the Baaj Temple. Now choose to go there.

It's the place Tidus arrived in Spira at! Go north and out of the water. Save your game here, and equip armor with Petrify immunity on Tidus, Wakka, and Rikku. This is MANDATORY for this next part. If you have enough Farplane Shadows or Farplane Winds to customize ID protection onto these armors, do that, too. Also, equip Tidus and Wakka with their ultimate weapons so they can top 9,999 HP of damage (Rikku doesn't have hers ready yet). This next boss is VERY tough. When you're ready, jump into the water. It's Geosgaeno again!

This time, it's for real!
This boss can be pretty tough. First of all, Geosgaeno uses Stone Punch, which Petrifies a character. And when you're underwater, getting petrified means you also die and get kicked out of the fight, meaning you can't heal it! This is VERY dangerous, but if you have Stoneproof on you should absorb Stone Punch harmlessly. Start off the fight with Haste (NOT Hastega, you'll see why in a minute), and then have Tidus use Quick Hit every turn, since Geosgaeno's main weakness is its sluggishness, so take advantage of this by getting your attacks in. Now, Geosgaeno also uses a move where he swallows your characters. When he does this, any status your character has, positive or negative, will go onto Geosgaeno! So don't put up any other buffs besides Haste on Tidus. Geosgaeno has high defense and is immune to Armor Break, so don't bother with that. The only thing you can do is just attack physically and quickly with Tidus. If Wakka's Overdrive is full, have him use his Attack Reels to deal a lot of damage (go for the most hits you can!) Have Rikku Mix some elemental things together so you can take advantage of Geosgaeno's weakness to all the elements. Don't bother Stealing; it only has Water Gems and you know where you can get those. Now, if it swallows a character, you have the option of using the Struggle Trigger Command to deal VERY heavy damage to Geosgaeno, but if you do this, Geosgaeno will spit the character out, killing the character or reducing everyone's HP to 1. But if you kill Geosgaeno while someone is swallowed he spits them out causing 9,999 damged to everyone.
Not very spectacular if you ask me... Why Lulu?

When you've beaten the damn thing, swim around the bottom of the pool here. You'll find a chest with the Onion Knight, which is Lulu's ultimate weapon. Also, you'll find an opening that leads to a room. There are two chests in each of the corners. The bottom right corner has a Megalixir and the bottom left corner has a Mega Phoenix. Now, examine the six statues. They'll only activate if you got all six of the Destruction Sphere treasures in the six temples we visited already. Since we did that in previous parts of the walkthrough, examine the statues. Once you've done that, a door will open to the next room. You'll meet Mrs. Seymour, who talks about how she gave Seymour her power and turned herself into Anima. She'll then give you Anima to summon! Anima is VERY powerful. Even its normal physical will break 9,999 HP, and its Pain attack is VERY, VERY IMPORTANT. Its overdrive, Oblivion, will ALWAYS do 99,999 HP of damage, even at low levels!

Now, head back to the airship.

[edit] Lulu's ultimate weapon

Now that you have Anima and all three of Lulu's ultimate weapon ingredients, go back to Macalania and show the shrine Lulu's stuff. Lulu's Onion Knight, when powered up, has these abilities:

  • Break Damage Limit
  • Triple Overdrive
  • MP Turbo
  • One MP Cost

So now, ALL of Lulu's Black Magic spells cost 2 MP and are extra powerful! If she ever learns any White Magic, it all costs 1 MP! Also, this weapon allows Shiva to break the 9,999 damage limit!
