Hamfruitcake shockingly enough has forgotten to introduce her Final Fantasy X-2 Walkthrough yet again. She really needs a slap on the wrists and sent to bed without any tea. A truly fitting punishment methinks. But I'm not going to be punishing myself any time soon so screw that. I have the power!

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Gullwings![]

Aboard the Celsius alarms are blaring and it looks like trouble. Fiends are apparently pouring out of the temples causing mass panic. Looks like we've been given the task of helping and calming the good ole folk down.

Yuripa

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Gullwings to the Rescue.

Yuna doesn't seem overly excited by the idea but Rikku decides to put a positive spin on it by charging for fiend extermination. Sounds a bit callous, Yuna's caring nature shouldn't be happy about this. But wait! Nooj and Baralai have gone walkabouts too. It's all exciting stuff!

Talk to Buddy to discover that Kilika and Besaid are your new Hotspots and depending on who you gave the awesome Sphere to Bevelle and Mushroom Rock will also be in need of your assistance. O'aka has decided to jump ship too back to Macalania it would seem if you paid off his debts! Exciting isn't it folks?

Head to the Engine Room to pick up the chests containing Remedy x5, Ether x3, Phoenix Down x6 and Hi-Potion x4 and don't forget to go have a nap with Barkeep before packing your things and preparing for the exciting adventures that await. It's also worth noting the sphere on the floor below Shinra on the Bridge, it's going to play a very important part in another endlessly dull sequence of events in Chapter 4. Commspheres. Whenever you land anywhere from now on across Spira you'll see Shinra placing them across all over the place. Look out for him.

Ugh I'm shuddering at the thought already...

Whatever shall we do first? I really don't know!

Ok I'll decide, it's up to me after all. As this is quite a short Chapter we'll hit the Hotspots later and get some Secondary Side Quests/Mini Games, frivolous time wasting over with now. So what are we waiting for?

100% Note

As you travel around Spira please do not forget about the Publicity Campaign sidequest. It's long and it's dull but whilst you're going here there and everywhere just check the location tables and try to talk to the people while you're out and about to save you having to come back and suffer running around aimlessly later.

Remember: Multi-tasking. It's apparently pretty easy when you get the hang of it. I wouldn't know.

Mushroom Rock Road[]

Regardless of who you gave the Awesome Sphere to you'll have a conversation with Yaibal and Lucil to boost your Percentage. Talk to Shinra about the Commsphere to see if it's working and he'll buzz off elsewhere.

Shinra will slip through the guards regardless of your alliance. And that's about it here. If you intend to do the Machina Mayhem Mission head through here first.

Mi'ihen Highroad[]

Let's go! But wait, do not fly straight to the Mi'ihen Highroad. Land at Mushroom Rock and head to the Road through the gate to see a special scene involving some guy running off. Talk to Buddy before you start.

Notice that this area has 4 stars as the fiends here are quite tough but I thought, hey why the hell not, let's just right in at the deep end shall we? If you feel your team aren't up to scratch feel free to leave this task until later. Upon our arrival you'll have a decision. Are you really going to say no?

Machina Mayhem[]

Our task is to incapacitate 13 Machina Units. Sounds easy enough. They say it's not a race but I think you know in your heart it is. I feel a competitive streak running through me yearning to be the best so although the Al Bhed are assisting you it's better if you destroy more than them. Just for bragging rights really. Oh and don't forget to save before you start, you can not Escape these battles once you engage in them. I also highly recommend taking full advantage of using your new accessories the Bloodlust and Wring to assist this killing spree along greatly.

Scout Machina ffx-2

The Machina appear as green squares on your mini-map but are also visible on the field so easy to spot and take down. The main issue here is that they also come packed with plenty of HP so hit them with Dark Knights and their Darkness attacks and powerful Black Magic. Do NOT use Thunder Magic, in contrast to the previous game these machina absorb Lightning so stick with Waterga for the best effects and pummel them into submission. Some defence against Blind will serve you well too. Take advantage of this excellent EXP source.

Head along the road taking Machina out as you go and picking up treasure happily. Once you reach the Travel Agency you can touch the Save Sphere and continue along. Hop over to the girl trapped on the platform by hitting the Circle-button to gain access to that particular machina. Once you hit 9 as far as I can tell it's just a waiting game until the Al Bhed finish the last machina off.

Once the mission is complete you will recieve 10,000 gil and the Undying Storm Garment Grid. You'll also see some hints to a later event involving Detective Rin. Oh my!

Djose[]

For a light hearted scene head over to Djose to check out what's going on with Gippal and the gang. Remember to do this before you start doing any Hotspots as this scene won't be there once you've visited Besaid and Kilika. It's obvious that there is some attraction between a certain Rikku and Gippal. He is also rather polite to Yuna. Claims that Considering she defeated Sin, everyone shouldn't just dump all their issues on her and expect her to solve them. Or for me to care.

I'm paraphrasing of course. You'll recieve the Al Bhed Primer XV after the scene and then you can leave and never look back.

Moonflow[]

Head over to the Moonflow to see how Tobli and his show are going. It looks like the Musicians are here and all the gear you saved too... Yet the little guy still doesn't seem happy. Whatever is the matter? Keep talking to him for the scene to reveal why he is so distressed. Hmmm so he needs a celebrity it would seem... Iiiiinteresting.

I agree with Paine. Run.

Don't forget to spread the word about certain Calm Lands based Enterprises while you're here though...

Guadosalam[]

As we're checking up on peoples we might as well go see how the Syndicate are doing back in ole Guadosalam. Head to the mansion and talk to Ormi and Logos in the Living Area who will be discussing how to cheer up the mighty Leblanc. Clue: it involves them impersonating Noojie Woojie. Silly boys.

FFX-2 Artwork Logos

Head to her bedroom to find her sulking. Back downstairs talk to the fellas again who will spit-ball about how to cheer up the boss. They have a sphere to show you in their room, remember where that was? Head to the Underground passage at the back of the Living Area and worm your way through the passageway, take the right path from the Save Sphere and enter the room there to find the boys room.

Enter Logos and a Sphere for you to view. Hmm... Isn't this Bevelle? And Yuna's backside... Hmmm... Can't say she hasn't got good eyesight though, I swear I couldn't spot Nooj, that resolution was terrible. You'll recieve the Logos Sphere and Ormi Sphere after the scene.

Check the bedside table to find another Sphere for your team to peruse. Oh look it's our old friend, the lookalike! How incredibly sinister. Enter Maechen who will gladly give us a history lesson out of nowhere. The Gaol Sphere is now yours for the taking. Maechen is one of the only NPCs to reference Tidus so I think we should give him our time. He will then discuss him in length and noticed he was definitely a strange boy, but we all knew that I'm sure. Yuna tells Maechen of Tidus' fate and he becomes quite distressed. Oh Maechen, I still like, you the bestest!

Before you leave head to the room with the Sphere Oscillo Finder inside (where it all kicked off before) and grab the Tetra Band. You can also climb on the box nearest to the door and run along the balcony to find a chest with the Crimson Sphere 4 inside.

There's nothing else to do in Guadosalam except canvass so be on your merry way.

Thunder Plains[]

You can continue to calibrate the Lightning Towers here if you haven't quite finished yet and talk to Cid once again here if you wish. He is still in a mood if you're interested. Check this page for more information on those exciting events.

In the Northern Area of the Thunder Plains (next to Macalania) you'll find two Ronso pups to talk to. Lian and Ayde ask Yuna where to go to find a way to fix Kimarhi's horn. It doesn't matter where you tell them but talking to them overall does increase your Completed Percentage so don't ignore the blue fluffballs.

Macalania[]

In the woods head to Spring as always and talk to mini musician children you found during that Hunt Down the Troupe mission and they will introduce you to a new friend they've made. Luckily this gel creature won't attack you, approach it and talk to it to recieve the Howling Wing Garment Grid. Thank you gel dude!

Head to the Agency to find it infested with fiends. The team decide it's time to take some action.

Secure the Agency[]

6 fights in a row? No problemo! Just use Darkness and multiple hitting Black Mage to keep thhings moving along nicely, also bring a White Mage in case thing get hairy. You will face the same set of enemies twice:

  • Rhyos, Vertigo
  • Barbuta x3
  • Flan Blanco, Barbuta

For your success you'll recieve the Pride of Sword Garment Grid. Inside the Agency a dying Al Bhed will give you the Berserker Dressphere and his last words and the Al Bhed Primer I. O'aka then will run in and tries to pay the deceased Al Bhed debters... He doesn't take their deaths well...

Leave the Agency and head back to the Woods and O'aka will run out and declare he'll be the best Shop Owner in the world. Looks like we'll be leaving him to it then.
