Welcome to my least favourite part of the entire game. Once this part's out of the way it's Shmooth Shailing all the way.

At least I have my handy Infinite Amounts of Classical Music strategy to keep my mind focused. Unfortunately, I also have Yummy Food I Could Be Eating to claw at the back of mind, tempting me with its- and we're back.

Sorry, just had to grab a brisket and horseradish bagel. Now I can write Part 11 of this walkthrough :P

As Squall, head left to the train tracks. Board the train, and as it speeds away, enjoy the sight of the G-Soldier running to keep up :P

At least he tried.

As Selphie, drive north to Deling City.

Deling City[]

Objective: Swindle shopkeeper, generate potentially infinite income and crash economy. Also challenge military general to game of cards.

Head to General Caraway's mansion and challenge him to a game of cards. Lose the Ifrit Card to him, and he'll start to use the Rinoa Card, which has two 'A' ranks but is fiddly to use due to her poor vertical ranks.

Afterwards, talk to him and ask about the Ifrit card. Apparently he lost it Martine. How could you have possibly lost it in the time between ending the game and us talking to you immediately afterwards?

Money-Making Trick[]

  • Afterwards, head to the item shop. Purchase as many Tents as possible, and use Carbuncle's Recov-Med RF ability to refine them into Mega-Potions at a ratio of 1:4.
  • Sell the Mega-Potions for 5,000 Gil each.
  • It costs 100,000 Gil to purchase 100 Tents, which refine into 25 Mega-Potions. At 5,000 Gil a piece, you can sell them all for 125,000 Gil -- a 25% profit.

Continue for as long as you like, though I recommend buying 100 of every recovery item to make your ride somewhat less difficult. Now leave Deling City and drive west to the Missile Base.

Missile Base[]

Objective: Bugger about with cruise missiles, avoiding being blown up in the process.

Enemies[]

Draw Points[]

Missile Base 3
Missile Base 2

Head left and enter the base. Check the light between the doors -- apparently one of your team nabbed an ID card from the vehicle. Handy. Head inside, and choose 'Walk by quietly'. The guard jokingly congratulates you, so just walk on by and keep going.

Down the stairs, head left and south. There's a Blind Draw Point, which is worthwhile only if you want to see the phrase 'Selphie stocked 15 Blinds' and imagine her as the manager of a DIY shop.

Talk to the lazy soldiers on the right and head back north. Enter the north door. There's a Draw Point here...whoa, Full-Life? Awesome. Talk to the guard taking notes and tell him to go on ahead.

Back to the lazy soldiers, who ask you to check the circuit room. That's the room we walked quietly past earlier, huskies :P

There's a Blizzara Draw Point in here, but more important are the controls. Press whatever buttons you like. The power will cut out temporarily.

Leave the room and bluff your way out. Head right and back downstairs. Go right again, and as you pass a door a soldier will come out and talk to you. Play it cool and agree to help.

What's that in the background?

Stand between the two guards, and mash Square-button to load the launcher into place. The launcher that, y'know, is going to blow your school to bits and kill everyone inside.

Anyway, talk to the soldier, exit the room and check the control panel. Confirm the equipment, then go to 'Target' and 'Set Error Ratio'. Why is this even an option? It's like the ballistic equivalent of Google's 'I'm Feeling Lucky' feature :P

Select 'Upload Data' and confirm it. Once you're done, talk to the guard to the south and go upstairs. You'll have to fight some weakling enemies. Afterwards, talk to your party and check the back wall. Now for the self-destruct sequence. Head into the back room and examine the console. Set yourself a time limit (10 or 20 minutes will let you escape out the back, and I'm guessing no-one in history has ever select 30 minutes; think about it). Now GTFO of here.

Out in the parking area, you're attacked by a...giant tank thing.

Difficulty: Medium
Strategy:

That time limit is a pressing issue here. Up to Level 21, it has 4,200 HP. At Level 22 and above, it has double that, 8,400. It's got three weaknesses but GFs take a long time to cast, and time is not your friend here.

Despite not having eyes, it's semi-vulnerable to Blind, which nerfs its physical attacks. Casting Shell on everyone will soften the blow from Beam Cannon, which it uses every turn after four of it turrets have been destroyed, so hurry up and take advantage of Limit Break situations.

After the battle, run around and check the exits. Yeah, you're trapped in. The party members accept their fate, but wonder why Squall assigned them to the suicide mission. The base explodes, and you're back with Squall. The cold, heartless murderer of his friends.
