Ooh, new episode of Rick and Morty. The ending was...wow. I'm finding it hard to even.

What I can do, though, is write Part 16 of this walkthrough. No third-person introduction this time; if you don't know who I am already, then you left the gas on at home.

Rocket Town[]

We got guests!! GET SOME TEA! ^%$#!

Cid

Items[]

RocketTown

Not sure that's how rockets are supposed to be kept.

Upon entering, Cloud will notice the defunct-looking rocket. The building on your left is the weapon shop, which sells Gold Armlets -- your best defence yet. I'm playing on a pseudo-challenge mode, where I'm sticking to the double AP Platinum Armlets in lieu of higher defensive capabilities.

The item shop to the north sells Barrier and Exit Materia, neither of which is particularly stellar. Big Guard does what Barrier wishes it could, and being able to escape battle more quickly is something you shouldn't even be considering. Outside, talk to the old man twice and look at the rocket to receive a Yoshiyuki.

Enter the house on the eastern side of town. In the back room you can find a Power Source.

Now enter the house slightly to the northwest of the house you were just inside. You can find a Drill Arm in a chest here -- I wonder who this is for?

Head out the back to find...a plane? Cool. It's called the Tiny Bronco. Not so cool. A woman called She-Ra...er, Shera appears and tells us that we need to speak to the owner, and that she thought we were Shinra employees coming to check on it. Hmm.

Head towards the rocket and climb the ladders to enter. In here, you'll find the owner -- Final Fantasy VII's resident Cid, and probably the best of the lot (at least until Final Fantasy X). Give the cheerful chappie a name.

Character Introduction: Cid Highwind

FF7 - Cid Portrait

I. #$?&ing love this guy. He makes Barret sound like a member of the aristocracy by comparison. He doesn't give a crap about manners or decency, which is justified considering the pile of shit Shinra dumped on him after they reneged on their space program, leaving him with a burned-out rocket and a meek, fastidious helper, upon whom he piles most of his frustration and bad language.

He's got decent Strength and high Defence, but low Magic and MP. But hey; beatdowns tend to come at a price. Plus, he owns an aeroplane (of sorts), so he's pretty cool.

Shera

Um, run?

Ask him about the rocket and he'll tell you that his assistant Shera caused the initial launch to be cancelled, and since then Shinra stopped their plans to use his rocket, ruining his plans.

When he starts moping, leave the rocket and head back to town. Enter the house with the Tiny Bronco out back and Shera will talk to you about Cid. Who promptly appears and swears at Shera to make some tea. And then at Cloud, to drink his tea. Cap'n.

Shera explains: When the rocket was originally scheduled to launch, she stayed behind to fix a broken oxygen tank. Unfortunately, continuing the launch would have increased the temperature in the engine room to a level where, and I quote, "There ain't gonna be SHIT left when we blast off!"

Cid initiated the Emergency Shutdown, saving Shera's life. And he's been giving her hell for it ever since. Speaking of which, he marches back in and stands on the table, complaining that we're not being good enough guests. In walks waddles Palmer, fat man of Shinra and head of the Space Program. Cid calls him fat and heads outside to meet with Rufus, who's come along as well.

I could quite happily play the animation of Palmer wobbling from side to side for hours. I wouldn't watch it, but I'd play it. Then go and do something else. Y'know, so I could say that I did.

Unfortunately for Cid, Rufus-kaichou only wants to borrow the Tiny Bronco to go after Sephiroth. Cid is understandably nonplussed. Shinra calls us inside; we want the Tiny Bronco, but Palmer's planning to make off with it. Not on our watch, tubby.

...really? You're going to fight us? Shouldn't you be busy fighting diabetes or something? All he does is launch magic spells at your party for about 450 damage and taunt you like a moron.

Use him as an excuse to grind out a couple of Limit Breaks. When you defeat him, he'll nearly get whacked by the Tiny Bronco's tail, and as he runs away he gets hit by a Shinra truck that comes out of nowhere. Hah.

Tinybronco7

I don't know who started the Bronco (probably Shera), but now would be a good time to steal it. Cid leaps on board, but the tail takes a hit. It'll only function as a boat (or seaplane, I guess) for now.

Now that we can explore shallow waters, there's a few sidequests upon which we can embark. They'll ease your upcoming story sections, so I'm going to go through them in the next section. By the end of the sidequesting, you could have:
- Two new Summon Materia
- Two new Enemy Skills
- Powerful new equipment
- Cloud, Aeris and Yuffie's ultimate Limit Breaks

Sound like something you'd like? Then continue on, my friend. Otherwise, skip ahead to the Temple of the Ancients section.
