I totally called it. Over a year ago, back when I was writing Part 30 I predicted that I'd write it in 42 parts. And here it is; the final part of Apoqliphoth's guide to Final Fantasy VI. Douglas Adams was right.
Rebuild your party (unless you want to solo Setzer, lol). Fly to Mobliz and land on the largest island off the west coast.
Soul Shrine[]
Items[]
Enter the cave and talk to the ghost. You'll have to fight through 128 battles, culminating in the revived Eight Legendary Dragons and Kaiser Dragon. You get several breaks in between, allowing you to switch up your party's strategy and equipment as required. Upon defeating the Kaiser Dragon again, you'll receive the Master's Crown, resident bragging rights bestower/pointless trinket.
Note that enemies exclusive to the Dragons' Den may appear at any point in place of the normal enemy formation. I recommend equipping the party with Miracle Shoes and Ribbons - it's the most consistently effective Relic setup against the more difficult opponents. Equip any Espers you wish for stat gain purposes - you'll get a lot of EXP running through 128 battles.
You'll also find Glutturn enemies, superpowered Magic Urns that demand rare healing items lest you face their terrible wrath.
If you don't hand over a Hi-Ether, the Blue Glutturn uses Punish twice per turn, which inflicts Death but can be avoided with Vanish or anything that grants it. You can steal a Celestriad from it.
The red Glutturn spams Ultima and Heartless Angel. Ultima can be blocked by Runic, and you can steal a Soul of Thamasa from it. This is the only other source of Souls of Thamasa in the game, so it's probably worth a shot. The price for it leaving you alone? Elixirs.
This little Glutturn wants an X-Ether or he'll use Cloudy Heaven, which puts your party on a countdown to Game Over. He carries a Master's Scroll.
And this little piggy wants some Ether, a relatively low cost for avoiding a volley of physical attacks. You can steal from it a Force Shield.

With the Master's Crown in hand, you've finally completed everything there is to do in Final Fantasy VI!
At one point I thought I'd never finish this walkthrough, that it'd be left 99% complete. I'm glad I remembered why I started writing these guides in the first place.
Until next time, huskies. And remember, Yoshitaka Amano can't draw.
