Here's a weird thought for you, my dear Space Monkies. Six months ago, if you typed in "BlueHighwind" on Google, you would get nothing. Those twelves letters arranged in that particular formation had no meaning then. But now that I, BlueHighwind have been editing here for so long, there are 789 results. Most go to absolutely nothing, and many more are about a Vandal on Wikipedia that used my name, and that number is nothing compared to the 8,490 Crazyswordsman gets. But at least I've destroy AuronKaizer, who only gets 5 results. It's slow, but you cannot deny that it's progress.

Moogle Forest[]

Once you're done with the Village, go South. Don't enter the castle, because it's filled with horrible monsters that will probably kill you at this level. Keep on going South until you see a giant plot of dirt brown land, head East at this area. Keep on going until the land ends at the shore, now go North until you see a forest in a valley to your East. Enter it to reach the Moogle Forest.

As soon as enter, you'll see a Moogle humping a tree. When it spots you, it will become so embarrassed about being caught in its disgusting activity that it runs away and falls into a hole in the ground. For some reason or another, Lenna wants to save the little sexual deviant. Jump into the hole to find an underground river. Here's where things can get somewhat difficult. You have to let the current carry you along your way. But every so often you'll get into a random battle. The enemies are aquatic, so don't be cheap with your "Thundara" spells. This isn't anything you can't handle, but be warned that you can't visit the menus to heal your party between battles. The river won't push you too far on your first swim though, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. When you reach dry land again, heal up and jump back into the frigid subterranean waters.

Once you reach another chuck of cold blue rock, don't go down the first staircase into the water that you see. Rather go East through a small passage to find the first bit of Treasure that we've seen in a long time. Its just 4,400 Gil. Then jump down from the waterfall back into the river. Go across another stretch of dry land until the river slams you across a few rocks and into the Southern wall. Go left a bit to find a Phoenix Down, then go East, then North up a few stairs to find the door. Just before you reach the door, you'll get into a Random Battle.

Boss Battle: Tyrannosaur
Tyrasaurus-ffv
HP: 5000
Steal: Golden Shield
Difficulty: Easy

Strategy:

You remember that Phoenix Down you just found? Use it on the undead T-Rex. Battle over.

Just after the battle you meet up with the Moogle. This fat non-cute FFXII version Moogle will then show to the way through the World Map to reach the next area. You have to follow the thin stretches of trees between the swirling deserts - do not take even a single step into those sands. Though the areas with some sand and some grass are fair game. Be sure to follow the Moogle's path almost exactly. Head North, then East at the fork. Head up Northwest until you see a mountain range jutting Southeast. Go around it and then through the pass into the forested valley. March around the center of the forest to enter the Moogle Village.

Moogle Village[]

Well this looks suspicously a lot like the Moogle Forest, doesn't it? When you enter, four Moogles will scatter to the four winds. The one we saved is in the Northeast corner. A few Kupos later, the little white creature thanks by letting us into its treehouse and giving us free dibs into its secret stash. The treasures include: an Ether, a Phoenix Down, 10,000 Gil, a single Gil, a Dancing Dagger, and a Cottage. Exactly what a Moogle was doing with any of those things, I haven't the slightest idea.

Next enter the house just to the left to find a Moogle Costume. Even Bartz has to express befuddlement why something like this would be around here. Its like if you entered your friend's house and found a human costume in his closet. Are there aliens living amongst the Moogles? The answer may never be found. With the costume on, go into the last house. The Moogle inside will quickly fall in love with you (real perverts those Moogles are, they just can't fall in love with their own kind, can they?), and let you take the Elven Mantle out of the chest. When that's all done, go back to your Moogle buddy at the right tree. It then uses Moogle Telepathy to contact a Moogle that lives with Krile (yes she speaks Moogle, don't ask). Then she flies her Dragon out to the Village and picks us up.

Bal Castle[]

Random Fun Fact: In FFXII, one of the Resistance Airships is called the Galuf-Val, "Val" being the old name for this area and Galuf being the king of this castle. When it comes to giving away weird facts like that, please Space Monkies, keep it here. Do not ever say anything like that at parties. Trust me, the looks of demused repulsion in girls' faces as they slowly move into the other room to mock you is one you do not want to see.

Galuf gets into his comfy king easy chair and listens to the news at the front. Half of the troops have been killed by Exdeath's monster hoards, and the other half is crippled because Krile tried to entertain them with her own rendition of "My Heart Will Go On". There were heavy casualties - the living came to envy the dead. Worse is that thanks to Exdeath's barrier, the Bal Knights can't get close to the enemy castle. Its not looking good all in all. Naturally Bartz's reaction to hearing about all this is to be ask if Galuf really is the king. "I thought you were just a crazy old man." Was this guy dropped when he was little?

Then Galuf makes the worst pun ever - "You'll be PUNished". In an instant, all the Bal soldiers in the hospital succumbed to their wounds. Once again the living envied the dead, and the dead envied those not yet born.

When the game finally give you back control and you've stopped weeping in the fetal position, explore the Throne Room for some Items. You can find a Hero Cocktail and the spell "Teleport" after going through a secret passage. With that all done, head South two screens to enter the castle grounds. Head left a bit and enter the first door that you see to find an Inn. Strangly even though the King of this nation is a member of our party we still have to pay 50 Gil. In fact you have to pay for everything here. Bal is just like another town. The Item Shop is inside the Inn, and the Weapons/Armor?Magic Shop is on the West Wall. There are no new spells, but you can at least upgrade your armor and weapons. When you're done shopping here, go up the stairs until you reach the roof. Head right until you're under the steeple to go down a hidden staircase. Head down all the way until you reach that room that was cut off from the ground floor. The chest at the end holds an Angel Robe. If you press A-button on the wall below you, you can enter the Weapon/Armor Shop counter. The two shopkeeps kick Bartz's ass, but one takes pity on the humble oaf by giving him Lamia's Harp.

Leave this building and go South into the pond. You'll be flushed up into the moat. Now walk around the entire castle until you're in the Northeast corner. Go left a bit underneath the Castle and hunt around until you find a Great Sword in the water. Go back to where you came in and press the switch to get back into the Castle grounds.

We only have two more places to go. Head back to the main building. If you go downstairs you'll find a Save Point. Then go downstairs again to find a hall filled with monsters. These are the Objet d'Art, they always appear in groups of five and are serious threats. Luckily you can kill them off with "Lv. 5 Death". They give loads of EXP, money, and AB Points which is always good. Just fighting these guys until you run out of MP will net you a few free levels. But don't push yourself too hard, GAME OVERS always suck. With that done, go upstairs all the way until you reach the Dragon perch. It turns out that the poor lizard is dying, and the only way to save him is off in the next area. Well, let's go then. Heal up at the Inn and leave out the main exit. Be sure that you've done everything here before you leave, because you won't be able to return for a time after this.

As soon as you're outside, one of Exdeath's minions comes in for the kill. You should remember this guy.

Boss Battle: Abductor
Abductor-ffv
HP: 2500
Steal: Gaia Gear, Power Armlet, Hi-Potion
Difficulty: Easy

Strategy:

Despite the new paint job, Abductor is still the same as before. If you lost last time, this is your chance for revenge. This fight will be no problem at all. His HP is so low that you can just tap A blindfolded and still win. Since I'm a nice guy, I let my baby cousin who can't even read and spells "Joey" "J-O-W-E-Y" play this battle for me. He won.

With that done, you're once again in the World Map. Quelb isn't that hard to find, simply walk North along the path until you find a town in the middle of a mountain pass.
