And we're back! The Sealed Temple is a cheap mistress, one that invites you in with the promise of tantalising new things to discover and then sends you back and forth across hell and breakfast. Bah.

Anyway, it's Part 37! Of Apoqliphoth 's walkthrough. To Final Fantasy V ;)

Return to the Sealed Temple and enter the central room.

Sealed Temple[]

Arena[]

Enemies[]

Items[]

  • Dark Matter
  • Hero Cocktail
  • Holy Water
  • Gladius
  • Ether

Go left and south, then continue clockwise. South is a treasure chest containing a Dark Matter. Left through the passage is a Hero Cocktail. South of the first chest is another chest with a Holy Water inside.

Head right and go through another secret path to find a Gladius. Go back through the path -- north is a stone statue. Now where did we hear something similar? Unfortunately, we have to walk all the way back to the Hall of Watchmen. Leave the Arena and go through the right door, then go left to reach the Hall of Souls.

Head due south and fall to the Hall of Doubt. North is the Soft-Vendor you've been looking for. Apparently he's a shifty dealer and his miracle cure-all lasts for only five minutes. Equip the Read Ahead to lower the encounter rate and take the southeast warp back to the River of Souls. Head north and back through the dungeon to the entrance. Re-enter the Arena and go back to the stone creature.

Boss Battle: Grand Aevis
GrandAevis-ffv-ios

Level: 97
HP: 42,000
MP: 20,000
ABP: 30

Steal: Cottage
Drops: Fairy Bow

Weakness: Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind
Immunity: -
Absorbs: -

Difficulty: Hard
Strategy:

It's accompanied by two Dark Elementals, which use White Wind to heal the enemies for 5,500 HP. They respawn if you kill them, which is annoying. The main problem here is Grand Aevis' Breath Wing, coupled with his ridiculous speed.

You need Angel Rings across the party to avoid Zombie. Cast Mighty Guard to survive his party-wide attacks. From there, cast Bahamut to take out the Dark Elementals and quickly Rapid Fire the hell out of the big boy.

Heal whenever you get the chance, because it can ruin you very quickly.

And with that, the coast is clear. Go clockwise around the room, then northeast to grab that chest below the Gladius to claim the Ether inside. Go southwest to find a new location.

Heart of Ronka[]

Enemies[]

FFV iOS Heart of Ronka

Copy/pasting? How original.

Items[]

The four chests contain two Ethers and two Fuma Shurikens. South are two more chests, which contain a Dark Matter and a Cottage. Further south are three chests. Grab the Cottage, Blitzshot and Sorcerer's Mantle. Which is misspelled.

Head back north and go left at the split. Two more chests, these containing a Phoenix Down and a Blitzshot. At the right end are two sets of Holy Water. Go south to B1. On the left is a Kagenui. Head back upstairs, then all the way left and down the stairs on the other side.

Here, go due south to find a room akin to the one in Ghido's Cave. Take the stone and place it into the southeast chest. Go through the leftmost door and take the Hyper Wrist. Return to the chests and place the stone into the northwest chest. Go through the second-to-left door and grab the Blastshot and Buckshot.

Back at the chests, place the stone into the southwest chest and take the second door from the right. Go downstairs. There's a Cottage in a nearby chest. To the left is a conveyor chain, so ride it down to...the Warp Zone? No Mario Bros.

Head south then east to find five chains. The second one along takes you to a small room surrounded by hidden paths. Take the left path to reach a chest containing the Apocalypse (the sword, not the actual end of the world). It's immensely powerful, so go right ahead and equip that.

Go back through the hidden passage, ignoring the dead-end secret path to your left. Climb back down the chain, and then take the chain to your left back up. Head west through the passage and north. To the southwest is a staircase to a new location, at last.

Abyssal Falls[]

Enemies[]

FFV iOS Abyssal Falls

Items[]

Head east across the waterfall, then south. Keep going down and take the Cottage from the chest you pass. Further south is a chest containing a Royal Crown. Keep heading south to find a large staircase leading to B2. You'll change areas halfway down. Keep going south past the sealed door. There's a new room down the right stairs.

Down some more stairs you'll find two Dark Matter, a Turtle Shell, a Cottage and a Water Scroll. Go back to B2 and go left. The waterfall will push you downwards, so grab the Coral Ring to the left. Equip a character with the Dash ability and press the switch. Run as fast as you can to the left side of the waterfall (on the higher area obviously :P) Head north on the other side to the Hall of Tranquility.

Hall of Tranquility[]

Items[]

  • Longinus
FFV iOS Abyssal Falls - Hall of Tranquility

To the north is the Longinus, the most powerful of the lances. North of that is a Save Point. Back in the main room, talk to the guy on the central platform. He fully heals you and gives you the key to the jail cell in which lies that monster we saw earlier. In reverse order. Once again, you need to do some serious backtracking. Go back through the Abyssal Falls to the north.

On B1, head west all the way and north. Back in the Heart of Ronka, go south and right to the conveyor chain. In the Warp Zone, head west and north. Don't go up the chain though -- take a right, then north to find a warp back to the beginning. Use the Save Point in the cave before the starting area to heal and take a break, then enter the left door of said starting area. Open the prison cell and the beast within will thank you by trying to kill you. Ungrateful.

Boss Battle: Archeodemon
Archeodemon-ffv-ios

Level: 17
HP: 50,000
MP: 62,000
ABP: 0

Steal: Phoenix Down
Drops: Chaos Orb

Weakness: -
Immunity: -
Absorbs: Fire, Ice, Lightning, Poison, Holy, Earth, Wind, Water

Difficulty: Medium
Strategy:

So his gimmick is that he counters physical attacks by casting Death on himself. This sounds stupid, but he's Undead so it revives him automatically with full HP. His attack pattern is to use an irrelevant Drain Touch and a slightly more relevant Flare. Like Twintania, it also charges up Mega Flare, and later Giga Flare. These warrant using Mighty Guard at the beginning to survive his onslaught. Of course, also start with Hastega to get more rounds over the course of the fight. It's a long one.

Since it revives itself constantly, start by spamming Magic Hammer until you start removing two-digit MP quantities. Let it use Flare until it's out of MP, then just kill it like you would a giant wall -- spamming Rapid Fire.

Time to traipse back to the Hall of Tranquility. Your path is:

Dungeon → Entrance → Arena → Heart of Ronka B2 → Left path to B1 → Southwest chest to B2 → Left/North/South to Abyssal Falls B1 → Southeast to B2 → Southwest to Hall of Tranquility (use Dash to pass the waterfall)

Save your game and use a Cottage. The main part of the Sealed Temple is now complete -- the Hall of Tranquility is a three-way split between the game's three true superbosses.
