Job Formation
Edit
Warrior
Thief
Red Mage
Black Mage
Gysahl
Edit
From where you are, just south of the tower of Owen, go north into the outer sea of this place and go east, after you reach the most eastern part you can get to on a ship go south. Land on the little jut of land containing a town. This place is called Gysahl. The magic shop here is worthless, but buying break could be useful. There's a house with a few things of gyshal greens hidden inside. There is also a shop here which sells magic keys, which are useless if you have a thief in your party. However if you find the secret passage leading to the back of the shop, you can get a Shuriken, the best throwing weapon in the game, but you cannot wield or use it yet, but don't sell it, although that 32750 gil might be tempting. In the inn through a secret passage there is a guy who'll give you Bestiary info. Leave.
Wide open sea
Edit
Now we sail back the way we came, except we keep going west past the Tower of Owen. Land on the south part of the island.
Note: The Sea Dragon enemy is the first regular enemy that will have two attacks per round.
Dwarven Hollows
Edit
Ok this place has some new equips. Buy 3 Ice armors, 3 ice helms if you can afford it, I don't care if it has 1 less Armor point than flame mail, you'll know why when we go up against Salamander, the armour resists fire. Buy two Tyrfings for your Red Mage. If you don't have the gil, just kill stuff outside to get it. The Inn here charges 80 gil. Talk to the uniquely coloured dwarf, get a scene, go to the opposite side from where you entered, go down the stairs, cast Toad, walk into lake, Recast Toad.
Subterranean Lake
Edit
Bombs are weak to ice, Stalagmites will petrify you. All other enemies are weak to thunder.
The first floor requires you just to follow the path, it has only one chest, a Gold Needle. The second screen is just follow the path, it shouldn't even give you a random encounter. The third screen is also straightforward, the first chest has a Zeus's Wrath. The second chest has another Zeus's wrath, The third has a gold needle. The forth chest contains another Gold needle. The fourth room, is another straightforward one, the first chest here has 3k gil. The second chest gives you yet another set of 3000 gil. Walk up to the pile of gold.
Reccommended level:17, you'll need them.
Boss: Gutsco
HP: 3500
This guy is trying to take some of Kefka's look, He Fails. His Physical attacks will be doing around 130 to a black mage, but he'll most likely hit your front-rowers for about the same damage. Remember this fight can go bad very quickly if he hits both times on the same character. If you have to, use your attack items. This battle will need your red mage constantly healing.
You'll get a cutscene and a shadow following you. Leave the dungeon. Talk to the main dwarf again, put the Fang of Ice on the altar, Gutsco will steal em. He'll go to the Fire crystal, which is north of the Dwarven Hollows, but you have to use your ship. Buy loads of Hi-Potions
Molten Cave
Edit
This place is the cliched flame dungeon of this game. If you continue on with the path you start on instead of going on the magma, you get to go to a chest containing an Antarctic wind which will be useful in the upcoming boss battle. Go back to the magma, walk through it, go east and follow that path of magma to get to another chest containing another Antarctic wind. Go back west through the magma to go down a floor. With this floor just follow the small path up until you go to the magma, follow that south, that leads to a chest containing a Freezing Blade, equip it to your Warrior so he can be useful in the boss battle. Follow the magma back and go through the west path. Go south at the three way junction. It leads to yet another chest containing a Hi-Potion. Go back north and get a treasure chest containing a Phoenix Down. Go back to the only path you haven't taken, Go downstairs. With this floor the first chest is easy to find it contains Impact claws. Go further north get a treasure chest containing a Phoenix Down. Touch the green rock. Follow the path that appears. Go through the nondescript chamber. Walk up in this room.
Boss: Salamander
HP: 6000
Ok, so this is the hardest boss that we've ever faced. Have your red mage constantly casting cure over your party, and your black mage spamming Blizzara and other high power ice attacks. His Fire Breath will do a lot of damage to all your party members, it'll be a game over if he uses it twice in a row. I think both his physical and magic defense increase when he's near death. You'll be lucky to finish this fight with all four members non-KO'd
YAY NOW WE GET BETTER JOB CLASSES, they are the Knight, Ranger, Geomancer and Scholar.
