Flying Fortress[]

Ground Floor Welcome to the Flying Fortress where this game finally begins to take it up a notch. This is the beginning of a bit of a somewhat challenge being introduced into the game. If you've played RPG's before though and know what you are doing up until this point then you will be able to make it through here just fine.

From here you can go south, east or west. First go south and pick up a Razor which casts Scourge when used. It isn't really worth it so go back to the Warp panel and this time go East to grab 5000gil, 180gil, a Protect Ring, 6720gil and a Healing Helm. Finally Go to the West and 7900gil, 4150gil, 9900gil and a Potion. Now go north to find a little square that will warp us too the next floor.

First Floor

Now this floor is pretty much the same as the last however there are a lot more places to go. Start by going North-West and grabbing a Cottage and a Mythril Helm. Next go West and grab the 880gil and 13000gil, and South-West for a bit of Adamantite. The South Path leads to the Warp Panel so skip that and instead go to the South-East room which has a Black Robe and a White Robe. The east leads to a Diamond Shield and another ribbon and finally you can grab some Diamond Gloves from the North-Eastern room and head south to warp to the next room.

Second Floor

When you enter this floor go to the dome just right of you and you will find that all the crystals all seem to be flashing as well as another light. The grey dot appears just above Garland's tiny castle. That is where Chaos is located an our next destination but first we must find the final Crystal.

Up North from the Warp Panel back to the previous floor we can find 5450gil, a Potion, 9000gil and a Protect Ring. Head back to the middle of the room and head West to grab Sasuke's Blade, 3400gil, 4150gil and a Gold Needle. Finally back at the Observation dome go to the East and then north to get 8135gil, a Protect Cloke, 9500gil, Clothes, another Gold Needle and 6400gil. Down to the south is a whole heap of panels that say "Analyzing Tiamat, No Known Weakness". This is meant to be some form of advice for the upcoming boss battle but knowing the boss has no weakness doesn't really give us the upper hand now does it? Go back to the center of the room and just a little to the West you should see the Warp Panel to the next floor.

Third Floor

There isn't any treasure in this room so just try to keep yourself as healthy as possible during this last stretch. If you are really badly hurt and your MP is depleted you can always teleport back to Earth and retreat to Cornelia and heal up at the Inn. The coming boss battle will provide a bit of a challenge if you are seriously low on MP. This place is a never ending floor unless you walk through it the right way. Go down 2 areas and then go West 2 areas to find the final Warp Panel.

Fourth Floor

We Have Made it! Now is a good time to heal up and Revive any fallen members. Go and equip the best armor for your Dudes and Use any Ethers to restore MP. Head north and hit Tiamat with all you got.

Hard Boss Battle: Tiamat
Ffbosstiamatpsp

HP: 2,400

Weakness: None

So i've listed Tiamat as hard here because he lacks a weakness unlike previous fiends. "Fira" worked for Lich, "Blizzaga" worked for Marilith and "Thundaga" absolutely tore up Kraken but Tiamat is not really weak against anything. On top of that, Tiamat simply is a step up in difficulty again that we haven't really seen since the Lich battle earlier in the game. Don't worry though, this boss really is more of a medium challenge and can be defeated through the same basic strategy we've used all game.

First set up "Nulall" (You better have it, but I guess "Nulshock" will work) and "Protera" to help soften Tiamat's Blows and hard they are. You really want to ensure that you are maintaining your health for this battle as it can prove to be a bit more of a slog than what you are used to. Now your Black Mage is going to find this battle a lot easier if you picked up "Flare" earlier however simple spamming that won't guarantee a victory.

Tiamat's main attack is "Thunderbolt" which if you were watching the Blue Dragon battle earlier can be quite painful and in Tiamat's arms it can be potentially deadly. Her regular attacks are also quite powerful but if you set up "Nulall" and "Protera" it shouldn't anything you couldn't handle.

This battle all comes down to how well you use your White Mage. If you heal right every turn and set up the protective spells early in the battle then you should be pretty fine for the rest of the battle. You'll just have to be prepared to tough it out.

Well Done! We beat all the elemental fiends and we can finally take a quick break. Warp out of there a soon as your done.

Dissidia Garland

Remember this guy?

Where do we go Now?[]

First we should have a rest in the Inn here to get ready for whats next. Its also a good idea to go around and get any spells you missed and stock up on stuff like Antidotes, Gold Needles, Eye Drops etc. Now you have a choice of where to go next. You can either go to Garland's Castle and take down Chaos which in that case go Here but that will be prove something of a challenge at this point in the game. The best course of action is to attempt at least some of the Soul of Chaos bonus dungeons (If not all) for better weapons as well as that extra experience.
