Walkthrough:Final Fantasy/BlueHighwind/Part 18

From Final Fantasy Wiki

Space Monkies, here's a watch I, BlueHighwind would like to see. The two shouting heroes of action movies of 2007, Beowulf vs. King Leonidas. "THIS IS SPARTA!!!" "NO, I AM BEOWULF!!!" "TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL!!!" "I AM RIPPER! I AM SLASHER!!!" Who has the biggest lungs? We shall see.

[edit] Lifespring Grotto (Continued)

Poor Lifespring Grotto, forced between onto two pages and neither of them belong to it alone. Well it deserves what it gets after forcing me to go through here no less then five damn times because Shinryu kept on kicking my ass.

[edit] Big Roomed Level

The distinctive factor of this area is its high incidence of massive Rooms. I believe that each holds a chest though I never bothered to really check. Enter the big Southwestern Room and exit at the corner to find the stairs down deeper into this labyrinth.

Treasure Locations:

1. South part of the big Northeast Room
2. North part of the big Southeast Room
3. South part of the big Northwest Room
4. North part of the big Southwest Room

[edit] Sky Fortress 1

Once again we find ourselves out into the sky even though we've done nothing but go down. I suspect Square Enix might have been on something when they wrote the code for these dungeons. This floor has a center path that's the main highway of the area. Each branch leads to various Treasure and the warp exit is in the South end towards the East.

Treasure Locations:

1. The East of the Middle Section in a Treasure Room
2. Treasure Room along the West side of the main highway
3. Behind #2. is a path leading to this Treasure (that kinda sounded like a Jeopardy response)

[edit] Sky Fortress 2

Ahh my least favorite room in all of Lifespring Grotto, no enemies but ten Chests. Why do I hate this floor? Simple: this floor is freaky because the pathways can disappear and appear at random often making navigation halfway impossible. Plus you can fall right off the pathway meaning a loss of HP and severe annoyance for all. But at least I can do some real walkthroughing here instead of just telling you the general location of the exit.

From the entrance, which is the center platform, head North to meet a path split. Turn right and follow the path as it twists South. At the next fork, keep going South. Soon, another fork will appear. Take the Southwest path. At the very next fork, take the Southwest route again. Follow this long pathway to yet another split. Go North this time and the walkway to will begin to turn east and then South. At this point, you should start walking on solid ground again. Now just head North ignoring any branches or forks until at last, you reach the exit. Finally.

Treasure Locations:

1. Head South then head South again at the fork to find a Treasure Room
2. Leave that room and move North past the fork, you'll find another fork, head North along a long hallway to find a Chest
3.4. From the center go North then East and follow the path as it twists its way South. Take the fork South to another fork and go Southeast. You'll find two rooms here, take the North room
5. Go to the lower room
6.7.8.9.10. I'm not wasting any more time of my life or my page wandering around here falling off of these damn pathways - find them yourself

[edit] Library

Why would the only library in whole world be in a deep mysterious dungeon that only the bravest can reach? These nerds don't seem to tough to me, how the hell did they get down here? This is just a joke level. Nothing but you and readers here, no enemies. Perhaps somebody got lazy (like me in that last section) and just didn't bother coding random encounters. I don't know. The exit is in the Northeast corner.

Treasure Locations:

1. North of where you start
2. Along the Eastern wall, go around the shelves to find it
3. Southwestern corner

[edit] Dance the Dance of Life

A bunch of weirdo have fought life and death to get down here just to dance(?). Other than that they just generally get in the way and make it kinda hard to find the Treasure here. The warps will jump you around the level, the exit is in the third area.

Treasure Locations:

1. First area in the oast the Northernmost line of Dancers
2. If the second area has three huts its in the Southeast corner
3. If the second area has only one hut than its in the Northeast corner

[edit] Row Row Row Your Boat

You're now in a Canoe in a sunken village. Well I imagine if you build a town in an underwater cave then its bound to get a little wet. For some odd reason our party destroy any monster that dares cross our path but yet they can't row faster than a Parkinson Patient with two fingers. No enemies here. The exit just might be anywhere so check all the houses.

Treasure Locations:

1. Southwest corner
2. Western part of the area, come in from the South
3. Northwest corner
4. Southern border someplace

[edit] Bizzaro Bahamut

I saved my favorite floor for last! It seems that I'm not the only one with a Bizzaro problem so does my main dragon, Bahamut. The Bizzaro Bahamut will test your strength not by making you fetch him a useless piece of junk but rather by killing at least X number of dragons. Kill them all if you're bloodthirsty.

Treasure Locations:

N/A

[edit] Level 5 Boss Battle

The Boss here is a coward and so is hiding from us someplace on this level. His location is random so it takes a bit of hunting to find him. Don't worry there are no enemies here. All the bosses here are Final Fantasy V refugees.

Optional Boss Battle: Gilgamesh
Image:FFPSPGilgameshsprite.png
HP: 8888
Difficulty: Medium

Strategy:

Gilgamesh! My man! Give a brotha a hug! Its been too long... too long... Well, I'm going to kill you now. Nothing personal.

The star of the Epic of Gilgamesh and the namesake of a really shitty anime is nothing but a physical brawler, and his physical attacks hurt. "Protera" is the only thing you can use to weaken his fierce attack. He also uses the Excalipur (not a typo) which is just a cheap bootleg version of the real thing: Excalibur. His HP is pathetic though, so this shouldn't be too hot for you to handle. For winning you'll get some Genji Gloves.

Beating Exdeath's cowardly general will unlock the staircase down, someplace on the floor. Its also randomly placed, while you're there you also have the option of going back to the surface. Don't we still have too much to kill to leave yet.

[edit] Level 10 Boss Battle

Optional Boss Battle: Atomos
Image:Atomos-FFPSP.png
HP: 13000
Difficulty: Medium

Strategy:

Atomos would one day become a Summon but back in FFV he was just another boss. Same deal here. The ultimate goal here is shave off his HP as fast as possible. His "Wormhole" attack will kill off one Light Warrior everytime it hits, pray that person is not your White Wizard. "NulBlaze" and "Protera" your team to protect from "Firaga" and Atomos's physical attack and go all out hitting him as quickly and as hardly as you can. Try your best to survive this fight without too many lost characters.

[edit] Level 20 Boss Battles

Here we go: the big Kahunas, the big cheese, the cream of the crop, the creme de la creme, the head honchos, the captains of the football team. Omega and Shinryu - the hardest bosses of the whole game. If you're not feeling up to it use an Emergency Exit to retreat back to the surface, we don't want to die after going all the way down here. First go left to fight the lesser of the two evils, Omega.

Superboss Battle: Omega
Image:Omega psp.gif
HP: 35000
Difficulty: Hard

Strategy:

My God, its HIM! Omega the dark robot that kicked my ass so many times in FFV. Jesus Christ, I'd rather see Midgar Zolom then this creature again. He was just that nasty.

Okay, I'd rather see Omega than Midgar Zolom. That was just exaggeration.

Everything about Omega is insane - the HP, the attack power and the defense. Its almost mindboggling and worse is that this isn't even the worst the game has to offer. Life would be a lot easier if we had a Mystic Knight with Rapid Fire, but no. This is FFI, where real strategy doesn't exist. First off put up a thick defensive barrier: "NulAll", "Protera", and anything else you have to weaken Omega's crushing attacks. "Earthquake" can kill off a character which is NOT good - that might mean the end of the road for you with just a single attack. "Wave Cannon" is also the toughest attack we've seen so far. Giant's Glove all your fighters and be sure to "Haste" everybody. Once you've dug yourself in well enough the real fight can begin. Unload everything you have on him. Since Omega is weak to Thunder be sure to "Thundaga" with every Black Mage turn. "Healaga" every turn with your White Mage - I don't care if your team is doing fine, just keep their HP up. If you're really in a tight spot use a Megalixer, but save a few for the next Superboss. You'll get a Murasame for winning.

Now you have to go all the way through Lifespring's Grotto all over again just for a shot at Omega's master: Shinryu.

Superboss Battle: Shinryu
Image:Shinryu-FFPSP.gif
HP: 35000
Difficulty: Hard

Strategy:

Shinryu is the biggest baddest motherfucker to step into that cartridge you now have in your Gameboy. There is nothing in either FFI or FFII that even begins to rival this monster's power. How hard is Shinryu? He makes Chaos look like a fucking girl scout selling cookies. I could never beat him in his original game (working on it though - UPDATE: He's toast, along with the rest of the FFV Superbosses). He actually is so fucking badass he actually follows Omega just because he can do whatever the fuck he wants, however the fuck he wants to. First off use every "Nul" spell you have: "NulAll", "NulFrost", "NulBlaze", and "NulShock". This is mandatory if you want to survive this fight. If you manage to get in all those spells you're survival rate is only up 20%. Even with all those barriers Shinryu's trio of elemental attacks: "Tidal Wave", "Thunderbolt", and "Ice Storm" are still powerful attacks. Worse is "Flare" which can still KO your entire party even with the heaviest barrier you have up. For this reason I give you full reign to use every Elixer and Megalixer you might have in stock. You're never going to have a better time to use them. Use the trio of "Haste", "Temper", and Giant's Glove on all your attackers just so that their attacks actually mean something. With this strategy and a little luck the big badass Dragon will finally go down. For winning you'll get a Ragnarok.

Thank God Neo Shinryu and Omege MK. II stayed in FFV. Don't worry, I'll be coming for you guys in another walkthrough.

With that we have now finally finished up the Soul of Chaos. It is finally completed, all the hours of shit we've had to endure has ended in victory. Give yourself an applause, kiss the first person you see right on the lips - I don't care if its a man, woman, or even your sister, do it. We have to celebrate this accomplishment.

Oh wait, there's still that thing about Chaos destroying the world. Forgot about him for a second.
