[edit] Whisperwind Cove

Now this is by far my favorite of all of the four optional dungeons. If you only go through a single cave out of the four be sure to go through this one. This whole dungeon requires only a single runthrough so we can just march through here once and never have need to return. Unfortunately this dungeon has Forty Floors, which means that you're going to be descending its dark depths for a good two hours or so. Get into a nice easy chair and say goodbye to your friends and family for the afternoon, we have a long ass dungeon to traverse.

For some odd reason the boys at Square Enix fucked up the difficulty of this dungeon. Normally the Souls of Chaos grow more difficult in the order in which you unlocked them. However the Cove's bosses are a cakewalk compared to misnamed Lifespring Grotto. You can find this place Northwest of the Ice Cavern in that river system North of Crescent Lake. Be well prepared because this is a long performance. Luckily it is well worth it, the items you find in those depths will boost your team to the next level. Chaos won't stand a chance against you after this dungeon.

There is a Boss Battle every ten floors. There are about a billion different item possibilities for each floor and its my curse to have to list them all. You better fucking appreciate this because I put a lot of work into this table:

You want to know what hell is? Its typing out the code for a table of that size and magnitude. Holy shit, holy fuck, holy fucking shit. You're welcome, Space Monkies.

Okay here's a description of the possible floors you're going to find during your attack on the Cove. As always they are listed in no order:

[edit] Marsh Cave 1

This area has a bunch of pillars just hanging around for no reason that I can figure other than to create such atmosphere. In the Northeast and Southwest corners there are two Treasure Rooms where you'll find most of the loot on this floor. The exit is to the West.

Treasure Locations:

1.2. Southwestern Room
3.4. Northeastern Room
5. The very Northeaster Corner
6. East of the exit

[edit] Marsh Cave 2

Now here is one massive goddamn map. I say skip the items and leave via the Northwest corner exit, this map is just a waste of resources.

Treasure Locations:

1. Northwest corner, come to it from the West
2. Around the Southeast corner
3. Around the Southwest corner
4. Southeast of the exit
5. Look along the Southern wall and you'll find it

[edit] Marsh Cave 3

This one is nice and simple, just follow any path and they all lead you to the exit. Simplicity is a virtue all too scarce in these caves.

Treasure Locations:

1. End of the Northern path away from the exit
2. End of the Eastern path away from the exit
3. End of the Western path away from the exit
4. Southwestern corner
5. Along the Western path

[edit] Marsh Cave 4

This floor has a nice little row of four rooms, each holding a bit of Treasure. The exit is in the Northeast corner.

Treasure Locations:

1.2. The Western Treasure Room
3.4. Second to Western Room
5.6. Eastern Room

[edit] Dusty Cave

This cave is dirty, that's the best way to describe it. In the very center there are at most three whole Treasure Chests, so its worth your while to make the trek over there. After that head to the Southeastern corner to leave.

Treasure Locations:

1.2.3. In the very center of the floor
4.5. In the Western side of the floor there are a bunch of deadends, two might hold a chest
6. On the Eastern side there are also a bunch of deadends, one holds a Chest

[edit] Clay Cavern

This is the most boring uninteresting level that I can imagine. Nothing special just go to the Northwest corner and leave.

Treasure Locations:

1. Directly West of the exit
2. South of the exit is a pathway leading East, take it to find a Chest
3. Along the Eastern wall

[edit] Tiny Cave

This is a nice and small little floor, so tiny I don't even need to lead you through it. However that is my job so there. The exit is in the Northwestern corner.

Treasure Locations:

1. Along the Eastern wall at a dead end
2. North of 1.
3. Approach from the South to find a Chest on the Western side
4. Southwest corner

[edit] Rock Maze

Now this is not a fun level, its a giant maze filled with tiny little rocks. First off follow the path as it twists north. Then turn West, and South. If you turn Westward you'll find a Treasure Room with three whole chests. Now its just a trek to the West and North to leave this floor.

Treasure Locations:

1.2.3. The Treasure Room listed above
