Via Purifico is a dungeon and an unrevisitable location located below the city of Bevelle in Final Fantasy X. It is intended as a place for prisoners to be left to die.

Tidus is sent to Via Purifico.

After the wedding ceremony in Bevelle, Yuna jumps from the top of the temple and summons Valefor midair and heads for the Chamber of the Fayth to obtain Bahamut. Her guardians follow, but are all arrested by Yevon and put on trial.

The trial reveals the higher echelons of the Yevon order to be engaged in a deception of their subordinates and the people of Spira. Yuna and her guardians are found guilty of treason for killing Maester Seymour and conspiring with the Al Bhed to cause an insurrection, and sentenced to the Via Purifico. Tidus, Wakka and Rikku are separated from the others and placed in the underwater section of the dungeon, whereas Yuna, Lulu, Auron, and Kimahri get lost in the maze. Yuna must find all her friends in the labyrinth dungeon and together they look for a way out.

Tidus, Wakka and Rikku escape the underwater section of the dungeon by defeating Evrae Altana, while Yuna and the others find Isaaru guarding the exit to the maze. Still loyal to Yevon, Isaaru challenges Yuna in a battle of aeons. After losing the battle, he lets Yuna and her guardians leave the Via Purifico, and Yuna's party is reunited with Tidus, Wakka and Rikku on the Highbridge.

Yuna must find her scattered companions in the dungeon, by finding Kimahri, Auron and Lulu. Afterward, she must activate a teleporter to find her way out.

Tidus, Rikku and Wakka must navigate the sewers and use floodgates to their advantage.

EtymologyEdit

Via purifico is Latin for "road to purification".
