The Vetala is an enemy and a mark in Final Fantasy XIII, fought in Mission 25. A Cie'th, the Vetala is highly resistant to all forms of attacks when not staggered, conjuring a holographic sphere that absorbs elements and whittles damage dealt to nearly nothing. The Vetala attacks with powerful magic attacks of many elements, so staggering it as quickly as possible is imperative. Its appearance is the result of two halves of a Ghast Cie'th merged together.

StrategyEdit

Using Ravagers is needed in order to stagger the Vetala. A Paradigm with three Ravagers works the best for this, while occasionally using a Commando or a Saboteur to slow the chain gauge down. When it is staggered, the player can use a Saboteur to cast Deprotect. When it is staggered, it becomes vulnerable to physical attacks.

EtymologyEdit

A vetala is a vampiric being from Hindu mythology. They are spirits who possess corpses.
