Valefor is a boss in Final Fantasy X-2. Valefor is a dark Aeon fought in the Antechamber of Besaid Temple.

It may look like Dark Valefor from Final Fantasy X, but is nowhere near as strong as the Dark Aeons were.

[edit] Strategy

Valefor is not to be taken lightly like the first of its kind that is defeated in Chapter 3; however, if you know what is in the woods for you, this boss is manageable. For starters, it does not have any sort of attack pattern, meaning you will have to be on your toes for whole battle.

The boss' Smash hits one for about 300 damage, Energy Ray hits all for 300, while Energy Blast deals 400 damage to all girls. It is recommended to have a lot of Hi-Potions for this battle. Also, prior to battle, fix up the girls' DEF and AGL, for boss is quite fast. Hi-Potions you've brought along will help manage to keep a steady flow of HP, unless you're considering bringing a White Mage into battle, who will tip odds in your favor by using Protect and Shell.

If you bring a White Mage, have her cast Protect, then Shell on everybody - afterward you have two options. Either you keep up Cura or Curaga on all girls or use Hi-Potions or Mega-Potions to heal your wounds (in latter case employ an Alchemist who has learned Mega-Potion ACTA), while Dark Knights slowly chip away at Valefor's HP until it is defeated. Shell will help keep damage from Energy Ray and Energy Blast at a safe distance, only problem left being Smash which is used every so often.

Fortunately, you can inflict all Breaks on the boss, so you may also want to consider Warrior's ACTA. Or how about Berserker with Counterattack PASA? Every time you are attacked, Valefor will feel the pain right back. There are quite a few options for defeating this boss, you just need to seek them out.
