The Valefor, also known as the Balfrey, is an enemy from Final Fantasy III, fought in the Cave of Shadows. Like many other enemies in the cave, it divides into two when attacked by a weapon other than a Dark Blade or is not inflicted with Paralysis. Therefore, Ancient Sword is the best non-Dark Sword to bring along to deal with these enemies. They are otherwise moderately powerful, so take care to not let any character's HP drop below 900.

Etymology Edit

In demonology, Valefar is a Duke of Hell. He tempts people to steal and is in charge of a good relationship among thieves, but later he brings them to the gallows.
