Holy cow; FF8 fan are gathering. This is Blue's worst nightmare. I personlly like FF8 because of the junction system. Anything new to the series is always an added plus. Plus, I don't know if you agree, but Quistis is the hottest chick in the series. I like Tifa and Rinoa, but Quistis is hot in the classy, hot-for-teacher way.

I think it should be a bit of both. Here for example, we have a good community, it's not all just information, there's discussion, events, walkthroughs, stuff where people can, you know, socialize. On the other hand, as a Wiki, it is our duty to provide information. And we do that, in a semi-professional and entertaining manner. I find Wikipedia's content reliable, but sometimes it's quite dry. That's not what this Wiki should be like - we provide information. "By the fans, for the fans" comes to mind. When I restructure a article, I don't just type a list of facts, I try to make it sound good. My overhaul to Kefka's page, or Sephiroth's "strength" section for example.
Currently, I like this Wiki, I've come to realize that although the information here is largely unsourced, it's okay, because the users here all know each other and know the games. BlueHighwind may be a bit of a bother, but I trust him to know the facts on VII, and I trust myself for the facts on VI and VII likewise. Each game has some sort of user representation to make sure that game is presented here fairly and accurately. I can't recall the last time the actual factual content of an article was fought over, because when such disputes happen compromise is usually reached. And I like that, really. Drake Clawfang

Officially, the entire DNC operation from fights to archives to queued fights, is run by TacticAngel.
"unofficially", he's been getting lax the last few months for whatever reasons he has, so Blue Highwind and I are keeping the talk page in line, and occasionally putting up fights. TA mostly just pops in one a week to update the fight and Blue and I keep the place clean and shiny while he's gone.

Well for me, Rydia, in all sincerity personifies all the qualities of an excellent RPG character - attractive (and how), intelligent, good personality, unique outfit, good backstory, awesome skillset, and even her weapon. Oh sure, swords kick ass, but Rydia's whip gives her sex appeal and that iconic quote from Cid. There's honestly not a single thing I would change about her.

Well, that's a subject of debate. Rydia specifically states that time flows faster in the world of the Summons, and she explicitly states she aged faster. So she's technically much older, although they never pin an exact age on her adult form that I know of.
As for the rest of the girls, only know about half of them, sorry. :p

I don't have a problem with Rosa personally, but she's quite clingy and a DID for the first part of the game, and doesn't do much once she rejoins you. Plus she's just plain overshadowed by Rydia. As for Celes, agreed, she's a lot more emotional, but I think that was the point of her, to contrast Terra who wondered if she could feel at all.

No, sorry. I still don't hate FF8, but I didn't care for it either. It was okay, and I'd play it again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
Squall and Rinoa aside, my big gripe is that everyone else in the game is uninspired - the same backstory and 2-D personalities. I think its interesting on one level that Zell, Irvine, Quistis and Seifer all turned out so different when they had the same upbringing. But on another level, I don't buy it. It just seemed that once their history at the orphanage was shown, they pretty much got left behind as Squall and Rinoa started moving the plot along. I like games like IX, VI and VII, where everyone gets their chance to take center stage. That never happened in VIII. Well, Selphie did at the Missile Base, but not really anyone else.
Also, Ellone. Is it too much to ask that her power be explained? I get she has this power...but how? How does she uses her power, how did she get it, how does it work, do others have it, has she always had it, did she inherit it, it she a Sorceress?

Well, it's a bit tough, but first, you have to crosscheck the Smash Wiki policies you have apparently broken to see if they all check out with what you did. Remember that on formal wikis, you almost always only own your userspace, and from what I could tell this involves the Smash Arena. Then, if you are still not happy, check the policies on Central Wikia and Wikia Help that span across all of Wikia. If those allow you a back door through this thing, go ahead. If the Wikia policies suggest admin power abuse (I'm pretty sure protecting a user page to shut up a temp-banned user counts as power abuse), you can try reporting it to a staff member to get their opinion/action. --SCM 20:12, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Sometimes, I feel my faith in humanity begin to slip. I was just browsing some Final Fantasy fanfiction. And I noticed way too many yaoi stories in comparison to hetero stories, so I decided to keep track.
Know how many SquallxRinoa stories I saw in the first dozen pages? ......zero. Unless you count one story which was SquallxIrvine and mentions Rinoa broke up with Squall.
So, a dozen pages, the score is zero SquallxRinoa. By comparison, know how many SquallxSeifer stories there were?

Btu I agree, it's the same in the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom. Yugi is established to love Tea, and depending on which version you read (anime or manga), she either loves Yugi or Yami, or maybe both. But Tea is hated in the fandom, so people pair Yugi and Yami with each other instead. Bleh.
