| Welcome to my talk page, friend. I have some rules here that I would like to be sure you'll follow:
- Use the time section on your template. I like to easily see when you wrote.
- Only leave a message or add to the end of a section. Do not start a new section if your message is relevant to one that already exists.
- Do not insult me or leave loads of vulgarity (as defined by common sense). I'll just delete it.
If you do not follow my rules on this page, I will personally correct your edit, and the intent of your message may be unsympathetically skewed in the process.
Also, I prefer that you use a talk template. If you don't have one, there is a tutorial here. If you can't, then at least sign and date.

| As you probably have seen, I've been messing with the spell pages adding MP costs to them for each game. Do you think this is worth doing at all? I'm curious to know what a 2nd person has to say on this ^^;;

| For the games in which each spell has only one MP cost, yes it is. I wouldn't bother for, say, FFII, but when the cost is constant it's fairly important info. I'm trying to help with the costs in TAY, but I've got to get back to my game before I can get the info.

| I'll take a look at it. And I'd appreciate it if you could help with those spells a lot MC. I'm going through the White Magic spells atm, so that leaves Black, Time, and Blue if you want to pick up from those. I'm going in order from top to bottom as well, and for those that are in more than one game (I'm trying to get everything from FFI, and then IV to X-2, since XI and beyond I don't really mess with even though I could probably look at the pages for them ^^;;)

[edit] I wonder...
...where did you find all those ID names for the CSS? @_@ I'm trying to do some minor tweaks in monobook skin for my other wiki and still confused on how to get the name of CSS ID for it~ =.= - SilverSummonerTaLk 07:27, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
- You could probably get some good examples from Help:Examples_of_customized_Monobook_skins. Most of those wikis have good documentation, so there'll usually be comments showing what each block does. Master Conjurer 17:22, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] After Years Walkthrough
Let me know if I'm being too aggressive with my additions to your walkthrough. Another user commented on my talk page saying that you might mind. Seeing as how this is a wiki and you appreciated my previous addition I thought it was probably alright but I'll gladly back off (with apologies) if its unwanted. TedSligh 23:58, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- My only concern is that your additions are correct. I'll only become angry if you add false information or change something that's already correct. By the way, those are good maps. Did you make them? Master Conjurer 00:01, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Cool. I'm testing all of my additions and holding off on adding them (especially the unequip tips) until I'm sure they have a positive affect. Yes, I created the maps. They were quick and easy. Photoshop with Show Grids, each block is a single pixel then I scale the entire image up 1600% using Nearest Neighbor scaling before adding the text and saving. TedSligh 00:06, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Spell Images
If it's a spell in a FMV does that come under this new DS Spell Images catergory? I wasn't sure. Terra_Homing 14:04, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Nope. ILHI (W/B) 16:52, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Okay cheers mate. Terra_Homing 17:16, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] *sigh*
Don't act before a discussion has come to a climax. AJD got tested for this, I don't see why you're different. Har, I can give you loads of articles that violate the naming scheme, except they don't violate the naming scheme. Because there isn't a naming scheme. Ask Faethin and he'd probably prefer articles to only use capitals when there should be capitals. So that is "Wind drake" and "Curse of the five wyrms". Characters using their titles is probably more common than not, except a lot of characters don't have titles at all. We have Sorceress Adel and Count Cidolfus Orlandeau. Right now I can see loads of them, just by looking at one page. ILHI (W/B) 21:09, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Furthermore, you move pages with the history. So you VFD the redirect/destination (in this case the disambig) and then you move the article. Keeping the history. Bluerfn once shouted at BH because of this. ILHI (W/B) 21:13, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Personally, I prefer lowercase, myself. (Just look at one of the wikis I run.) The thing is, the lack of a naming scheme and no effort by anyone other than you to come up with one annoys the hell out of me. I don't care whether or not I agree with whatever comes up, but, damn, we really need one.
- By the way, why capitals in the categories? Wikia suggests lowercase for everything but proper nouns.
- As for the furthermore, the history can be dumped into the talk page or a subpage. I'm used to not working with admins, and waiting for action or a response from one is another one of those things that bugs me. Master Conjurer 21:19, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- History can be dumped in a talk page, but usually when you look at history, you expect things to be there. Unless people say in their edit summary that the edit history is in the talk page... pasting the history in a talk page is usually done if you had to. We used the house the List of Enemies page in the categories, and you can't "move" a category, so in this case we pasted the history in talk.
- The categories being uppercase is a different issue. I suppose the main reason is because when you type "Final Fantasy VII enemies", the first three things are all capitals, so it just doesn't look right with the fourth one not being in capitals. I think 8bit put it down to obsessive compulsive disorder (I hope it was OCD he said). I think the same reason is why it was decided that the List of pages have the last word capitalised. "List of Final Fantasy VII enemies".
- So categories are like that because I think 8bit was making them capitals.
- I'm used to being an admin. With all the cool functions like moving filenames, suppressing redirects and moving over existing pages. And here you can't expect admins to work fast, especially back in the day where the VFDd articles were looked through once a week or less. You usually forgot that you had VFDd an article to make way for move, I've probably forgotten some in the past that still are the same.
- As you might have gathered, I hate this place. A lot of the time people don't read talk pages. I wonder if there will ever be a resolve on the character title issue. I believe DC moved Beatrix to "General Beatrix" a while ago because other pages used titles. This sparked up debate over what we do. At the other end Bluerfn moved NORG to "Master NORG", and then someone said that it should be "Garden Master NORG", so they moved it. Then Bluerfn moved it back to "NORG". And that was it. There was no end to the discussion. The Cissnei/Shuriken (Female) debate lasted ages without a resolve. Even though the answer was a fairly obvious one. It did in the end AND because AJD acted.
- I've found the easiest way to get something done around here is to act. This will either grab the attention of someone and they'll open a debate or will go unnoticed, and therefore "accepted". After a debate over whether to split status and spell pages, I decided I'd split "Haste" into "Haste (Status)" and "Haste (Spell)". AJD quickly picks up on this, we go back to that debate and yet nothing has happened since. I've just decided I'm right. I'd split the rest but let's just say I have other things to do around here. One example being accidentally typing too much on a user talk page.
- So on the topic of acting, I don't like it when other people act. Mainly because they're acting against what I want. I have a view of perfection for the wiki, and perfection is everything being done my way. It's how I work on my wikis.
- So basically, knock yourself out with the removal of character titles thing. It's what the wiki wants to agree to, just can't. ILHI (W/B) 21:57, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- I know what you're talking about with the view of perfection; I have one, too. Unfortunately, my schedule doesn't allow the diligence you display. As well, a number of things have sent the wiki further from my own view, the capitalization being one. As a believer in the concept of a wiki, though, I have to accept that the net push of many users acting is forward. A project is no project if you plan forever, right? If a problem arises from my action, I'll cease the action until a resolution. If none does, though, I have to assume that part of my vision is acceptable. Master Conjurer 00:06, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
Just to let you know, avrilfan is my sister, and I mess around with her alot. Also I wasn't actually trying to be mean. I just like messing around with my sister and brother.(which you might also like doing if you have a brother or sister.) So please forgive me for what I said to my sister, avrilfan —Ff7emily
- I guess there was a misunderstanding, then. This is why I torture my sister in reality. Master Conjurer 23:54, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] WikiFauna?
May I ask? What kind of WikiFauna am I? just can't think of it... DB36 13:45, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- I don't really know. Some people don't fit neatly into any one type of fauna, and you seem to be a fairly well-rounded editor. Master Conjurer 14:59, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

| Werefang and I use quicker parameters for our templates, {{{1}}} and {{{2}}} where yours uses {{{time}}} and {{{text}}}. The problem was that Werefang's template has an older version floating around that still uses {{{time}}} and {{{text}}}. The codes I gave him allow both versions to work at the same time.
As for complex templates, a few users just can't settle for the "generic" look. A few notable template-masters are
- TacticAngel, the inventor of the talk template (and owner of the template so simple it's complex),
- ILHI, the first to round the edges on the template (as they were octagons before),
- Born from Darkness, the main developer of the three-sectioned template,
- And of course, me, the perfector of the random images and other rolls of the dice! ^_^
I also believe ILHI is experimenting with the use of HTML-created pseudo-images to replace local images. I'm sure a few others are working on changes to the template, but I just haven't noticed.

| —W/B I'm settled with TTT2 right now. I can think of many ways to make it more complex but I don't want to. My template did used to use HTML round-edges. Now it uses -moz-border-radius. The idea behind my current template is it uses far less coding. I hate TTT2 because it used so much code it slowed down pages so much that it didn't take long before I couldn't access my talk template. Though I might switch back to my older, cooler template soon.
Most peoples (unsupported) custom template will work fine now, the new parameter "top-section" means you can customise the entire top-text on the template.
It's funny, I only used the Talk template on my website recently. Before then I used some simple code (which I didn't create) and then customised it with similar parameters. I practically coded the entire template. It was 5492 characters long before, and when I tried to shorten it I got it down to 3080. Now it's 4603 which is only because I've been making it more customisable.
As for BfD's three section template: I used a three-section template before she did. It used a third parameter where I'd type the song I listened to. I removed it now, but you may occasionally find a song-title there. It might be lost, I never cared for my talkbox's history, so when I was moving it around, I probably deleted it. And BfD still asked me to help with the coding, you can see in the history.
And I use one and two too. If there was a first to use {{{1}}} and {{{2}}} it might've been Hecko, I think he mentioned it somewhere on this wiki (it might have been on another wiki though) though TA and Bluer use it.
And HTML images are win.

| I said BfD was the main developer, not the creator. I merely meant that she's the one who seems to always be working on it (though looking at TalkTextTest2 indicates your part, surely). {{{1}}} and {{{2}}} are fairly common now. I mentioned it because of PM's question about the code I gave Werefang ({{{time|{{{1}}}}}}). By the way, my massive heap of random weighs in at 6,998 bytes.

| Oh. Thanks for the, uh...time thing. I'll just stick to the usual one for now. One thing I don't get is how to alternate templates. I tried doing that and it turns out that I can't substitute {{{time}}} and {{{text}}} for the 5 ~'s and what I want to type.

| It says on your userpage that you've written a walkthrough for the FFVI anthology. On the "To Do List", it says that the Wiki needs a walkthrough for the PS1 version of FFVI, so I've started writing a walkthrough for that, using the FFVI and FFV anthology game (since it was also released on the PS1). I can't find your walkthrough anywhere on the wiki. So is there a difference between the PS1 version of FFVI and the Anthology? Should I stop writting my walkthrough if you've already written one?

| If your habits and ideas change, then they change. I highly doubt anyone would give you a hard time if you where to release your true username. And if it helps, I would back you up on this. If I got A11 unbanned, I can cover you on this (Either that or I will ramp up my annoyance to 11 until people stop bitching about it, sure, Fae might have a heart attack, but its worth it.). I actually have a similar philosophy (though if I am bored I will hit "random page" and see what comes up, fixing has I go along) and after that...Unpleasantness back in April, I considered doing something similar. Long story short, I don't care what name you use, along with how your edits change, and I doubt anyone actually will.

| Where are you from? I heard you're from Indiana. Is that true (cause I am).
