Excuse me Fae, but what exactly is the reasoning behind her having a page here? And yes, there is a relevant reason why I'm asking.
FëasindeTalk"In this spheric universe, love is inverse." 01:40, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Well, the Wiki aims to cover everything Final Fantasy, in matters of its canon, and the notable fanwork inspired by the series: 8bit theater, Dead Fantasy, Dion Rogers' Rinoa, Kate Covington... There's probable lots and lots such notable fanwork we could include.
Why?
Deadlyslashsword - +It takes disaster to learn a lesson, but you're going to make it through the darkest nights+ TALK - 05:47, 15 August 2009 (UTC) - Am I too late...to be saved?
Well, I'm sure not many will agree with my point of view, but as I see it, it isn't our responsibility to cover any Final Fantasy material that doesn't have a Square-Enix label on it. It isn't official, so it does not necessarily reflect the view or the purpose of the original work. Sure it's good to know that Final Fantasy has it's hardcore fans, but the fact that this wiki exists is a greater example.
And on the flipside, yes, the fanwork we cover include some great works, but there are a lot more great fanartists, fanfic writers, and rearrangers that deserve attention as well. One example that comes to mind is the website ocremix.org. It is a collaborative site of remixers devoted to rearranging video game music. They are very similar to Kate Covington in the fact that they rearrange skilfully and wonderfully tracks that include but isn't limited to Final Fantasy tracks, and they have a great number of fans, too. Why don't we cover them? Because our coverage of fanworks should be limited? Or maybe because Kate's rearrangements are unique? I wish to know the answer.
I'm not sure what the official policy of this wiki states in reference to fanworks, but I am of a mind not to cover them at all, for more than one aforementioned reason.
FëasindeTalk"In this spheric universe, love is inverse." 16:21, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
The key phrase there is there are a lot more great fanartists [...] that deserve attention as well. They do. I absolutely endorse their inclusion on this Wiki provided their work is notable for the Series. The next step would be to expand our policy on the subject of notable fanworks.
If we think it isn't our responsibility to cover any Final Fantasy material that doesn't have a Square-Enix label on it, then I'd feel inclined to point out it isn't our responsibility to cover any Final Fantasy material at all. It's really our choice to include fanworks or no. Perhaps as a community we should discuss this further, but, personally, my stance is: Go fanworks! Provided they are notable.

Look, I get you are an Admin and everything. But at this point I don't give a rip. I want to know, and right now. What exactly did I do to deserve you constantly taking shots at me. You have referred to me has ignorant for not completely understanding the English spellings used in a country I have never even so much as set a foot in (while several other users are trying to convert those spellings to the American version, the exact same thing I was doing), you belittle me whenever I make my opinion known on most things, and just recently you claimed that you "Cringe every time you see me on the mainspace". Now I make no claim to be perfect (I reference this fact no less then twice on my userpage), but I have been working on becoming a better user by checking more thoroughly for typos in what I post and editing more frequently on the mainspace. I am just doing what any user does and contributing to the wiki to make it a better place. But this is rather hard to do when I am being bullied by a holier then thou bureaucrat who is SUPPOSED to be setting the example for users on here. Now, if you have a legitimate reason for these things, I would rather like to hear it so I can work on whatever problem I have. If you have to real reason for this, please cease and desist immediately. That is all. Exdeath64 05:11, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Okay. Where to begin.
Look, I get you are an Admin and everything. But at this point I don't give a rip.
You don't have to. The fact that I'm an admin is irrelevant for most matters. I'm a guy that can block people and delete pages. Little more.
You have referred to me has ignorant for not completely understanding the English spellings used in a country I have never even so much as set a foot in
I did not mean for you to think I was calling you ignorant for not knowing the differences between English spelling and American spelling. I was only telling you that changing everything into the American spelling convention was not necessary, as few people do think this is important.
(while several other users are trying to convert those spellings to the American version, the exact same thing I was doing)
Name three of them, nay, name two. Go on. Let's see who are these "several" users.
but I have been working on becoming a better user by checking more thoroughly for typos in what I post and editing more frequently on the mainspace.
I told you once and I'll tell you again: I don't believe you. "Has" instead of "as" pops every. Single. Time. You require its use; you've even gotten to the point of capitalising the "H" in "has" and consequently led me to think you're misspelling the word on purpose, as if you were trying to leave a mark of your presence. Also, you continue to use the second person pronoun when we've repeatedly asked users not to do so unless a strategy is being discussed. Some users, (mostly Yuanchosaan and I) are always behind your trail fixing these things, and by always I mean every time I see your name on the mainspace.
Which is why I said I cringe.
But this is rather hard to do when I am being bullied by a holier then thou bureaucrat who is SUPPOSED to be setting the example for users on here
Now this phrase makes me have mixed feelings. On the one hand, good grief, how many friggin times have I already explained the above stuff to you? On the other hand, even if it might not sound truthful to you, I do not like bullying; the very fact that you feel bullied by me makes me feel quite guilty as I hate all forms of abuse.

I reconsidered. The conclusion is still no. The nomination page is huge and only spams the Recent Changes. Dissidium
I saw your edit on Wikipedia. You're right, "dissidium" is not a word. It's actually just a fan corrupted word of "discidium", a Latin word that *does* exist, and means "disagreement, discord", etc. Drake Clawfang 17:22, September 3, 2009 (UTC)
Nope. That's not the full meaning of the word. Discidium means "tearing apart; separation , division; separation in feelings, disagreement" [5]. Anyway, they may look similar, but their pronunciation are quite different: discidium is pronounced more or less like "dees-kee-dium".
I've done my bit of research. The word *dissidia is not attested anywhere. It is a hypothetical, though valid, neologism that means "discord". Faethinte audio 18:02, September 3, 2009 (UTC)
Ah, it's pronounced differently than Dissidia huh? Well I guess that's the problem with the Internet, you can't tell that sort of thing normally. Like I said, my guess is that "Dissidium" is just a fan-corruption of "Discidium" to strengthen the idea of the connection of the word to Dissidia. Drake Clawfang 18:07, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

Did you make this animation? If the answer is no you need to get the author's permission to use it. No buts about it. You need the author's consent in the form of an explicit quote.
If the answer is yes then there's two ways of licensing it: you can keep it copyrighted so that no one can use it without your permission or you can release it under the Creative Commons SA license, which basically means everybody may use it as long as you get the proper credit.

I'm more of a fan of Stevie's older works (you can tell because I refer to the group and not exclusively her), but Landslide is nice, and so is Seven Wonders. I've never heard that Room on Fire song until you linked me to it O.O Nice Latin-sounding guitar in the background, puts a new different background behind her voice. ^^
But yeah, Stevie's performances in Fleetwood Mac are awesome. I'm a bit biased towards Christine McVie because she's a pianist (You Make Loving Fun + Songbird = <3), but Stevie's part in Rhiannon is freaking amazing. I love how she can alternate between a raspy and perfectly sweet voice.
FëasindeTalk"In this spheric universe, love is inverse." 20:57, September 19, 2009 (UTC)
I'm a huge fan of Stevie Nicks. Christine is lovely and all, but Stevie is way more of a rock'n roll chick and I just love her mystique. I like FwMc quite so, but I enjoy more her solo work. Have you listened to the song "Dreams"? Stevie wrote that as a FwMc song, but the second part (yes, there's a Dreams pt2) called "Outside the Rain" is one of my favourite songs. If you get the chance, pick up the album "Belladona". I'm sure you'll love it.

I have a question. Currently, all the enemy pages for Mystic Quest are given the tag "Final Fantasy Mystic Quest" where applicable. Should we change the tag to simply "Mystic Quest"? Drake Clawfang 22:05, October 4, 2009 (UTC)
I guess so. That's what we do for Revenant Wings or Ring of Fates. Faethinte audio 04:22, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
Alrighty, I'll get moving. Drake Clawfang 04:27, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, that's all great, but Mystic Quest and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest are two completely different things. Mystic Quest is not Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. ILHI(W/B) 19:02, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
Really? Because when I click that page, it tells me the game is called "Final Fantasy Adventure". So if we need to tag anything for that, we can tag it "Adventure". Drake Clawfang 19:18, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
Please read further into that article. It was released to Europe as "Mystic Quest". While the rule is always North America > Europe > Japanese in terms of what the article is named (I don't think there is ever a Euro translation where there isn't an NA translation, but I might be wrong), the point is "Final Fantasy Mystic Quest" as a tag can only refer to one of the games we cover. "Mystic Quest" can refer to two, but it is an exact match for only one, and it's not covering the exact match. An Adventure tag would be "Adventure", because there is no SE game we cover just called "Adventure". If you want to find real examples of places where "Final Fantasy" is redundant, go pick on the Tactics series. ILHI(W/B) 19:30, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
There aren't any SE games just called "Revenant Wings, Dissidia, Ring of Fates", etc. Those are subtitles to the normal "FF" moniker. I do see your point, I just disagree with it. If this becomes a problem with the two games sharing a title, we can just do what we did for Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III: add a note at the top saying "For the game known as Mystic Quest in Europe, see Final Fantasy Adventure". Simple solution. Drake Clawfang 19:36, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
No, no. I'm fine with how everything is... or was. I just don't think that moving everything to the "Mystic Quest" tag because other things don't use its full name was the best idea. "Mystic Quest" can refer to two things, "Final Fantasy Mystic Quest" can only refer to one. So, to me, it would sound like the best tag to do to avoid any confusion whatsoever. Now, are we going to put a note at the top of every tagged FFMQ page with "This page is about an enemy in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, for information about the game known as Mystic Quest in Europe, go to Final Fantasy Adventure and click around". ILHI(W/B) 19:49, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
No we won't do that, because that's stupid. "Final Fantasy II" can refer to two things, so do you want us to change around all the FF2/4 tags? Someone types in "Malboro (Final Fantasy II)" looking for the enemy Cecil fights, gets taken to the one Firion fights and goes "WTF"?
Like I said, just add the note at the top of MQ and let that be it. You're making a mountain out of a molehill. Drake Clawfang 20:03, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
I'll also point out Adventure currently has no Enemy pages, so what tag confusion can there be at this time? Drake Clawfang 20:05, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
It does not. But that's not entirely the point. We cover, even if only briefly, Adventure. Which is also called Mystic Quest. Which can confuse. We do have two tagged Adventure articles, Dark Lord (Final Fantasy Adventure) and Watts (Final Fantasy Adventure). I can't remember the reason we aren't covering FFA in full. I'm sure it's either "Adventure sucks", "the wiki sucks", or more likely, it's a Mana game, not an FF game. But I still think it should be covered. ILHI(W/B) 21:44, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
Oh yeah. You're right there. But as I said, "Mystic Quest" can refer to two things, "Final Fantasy Mystic Quest" only to one. "Final Fantasy II" can refer to two things, but then that's unavoidable. MQ has another option, II doesn't. ILHI(W/B) 21:44, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
FF Versus XIII stuff
The other day while browsing videos on IGN, I came across this video. Words flashed across the screen and I thought they were Latin at first until I picked up some words in Italian. This was going to be a "please translate" message, but now, I thought I'd just share with you what it said (unless you hadn't already seen and translated the video):
Il camino per i cieli.
The road for the skies.
La morte e la dea.
Death and the Goddess.
La stella incontrata di notte.
The star encountered/met at night.
La memorie di morte
Memory of death.
Nothing new here >_> Laterz Faethin. P.S I was thinking about making a muzak contribution, in these coming months, to one or two of the OST pages, any format change? -Azul(talk ・contribs) 00:16, October 10, 2009 (UTC)
Good to see you Azul. The Italian is pretty messed up in that no verse seems to have perfect grammar. Taking into account this, you did a pretty good job; the only thing I'd say is that I think incontrata means specifically "found", as in finding a star at night. Faethinte audio 04:09, October 10, 2009 (UTC)
Right. I thought that sentence was referring to Stella and Noctis "encountering" each other at night, but they could be using it as.... uhh.... I can't seem to find the word <_> Anyways, either way works :} Thanks. Azul poofs back into obscurity, for the time being. I noticed that in the Kain Facts, you make a big to-do about "Kurayaminokumo's" guitar solo. Though I've heard the theme before, I'm not aware of which remix/part of the song you're referring to, and it intrigues me. Have you a link perhaps? Drake Clawfang 06:25, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
Beginning at 2:02 and ending at 2:47. That one requires you to be a FAST guitarist, perhaps Michaelangelo Romeo-fast. Though in all fairness, I like the keyboard solo as much as the guitar solo. The extended solos of Kurayaminokumo are what make it one of my favourite tracks. Faethinte audio 15:21, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
I mean which remix? The page for the theme had five different ones... Drake Clawfang 17:19, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
"Kain Highwind can play KURAYAMINOKUMO's guitar solo. With one hand." "Kurayaminokumo" is the CoD's theme as played by the Black Mages. How many versions on the page feature a guitar solo? Faethinte audio 17:50, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
One which I haven't heard yet, hence my asking. Nevermind. Drake Clawfang 17:51, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

Your name does not show up on the Upload log for the last five days. Perhaps you uploaded it on a different Wiki? Anyway, I delete images that lack proper license or a proper category.

What copyright did I violate. Drake Clawfang 21:11, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
Re-uploaded with the license. Even if you don't ask before hand, at least let me know in the future. I didn't even notice it was deleted until I visited the Award Template forum. Drake Clawfang 21:15, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
Images
Hi! :D
I just wanted to let you know why I was "resizing" images. I was merely trying to upload better quality versions of the image file. If it's a problem I can stop. The FFVI Squall.jpg that I uploaded, while being smaller, was a better quality (as jpeg's are not ideal for sprites). I can stop if it's problematic. Sorry for any trouble --LiCobra 00:26, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
It's okay, but I can't see how uploading smaller versions of the images improve them. The best format for sprites is png, but you cannot upload an image over another if they're different kind of files, i. e. a png cannot replace a jpeg. Faethinte audio 00:30, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
Ummm... never mind then. I'm a spriter so seeing an oversized image bothers me a tad. I'll stay off the wiki now. Sorry :/ --LiCobra 00:33, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
Nobody is telling you to bug off. And what do you mean by an "oversized image"? Better resolution, better illustration. Big images can be handled to to illustrate their game element in a better way. Faethinte audio 00:38, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
FFIII DS enemy images
Ash Crimson - New Hero Team TALK - 01:42, October 22, 2009 (UTC))
I posted this in the To-do list discussion but no one would answer so... I have a few questions.. should I replace all the FFIII enemy images that have already been uploaded? And should I replace the boss images so that they match the enemy images in size and quality? also.. I'm not 100% sure if I'll ever be able to finish because my bestiary isn't 100% I'll try and get as much done as I can though. :\ any help is appreciated. (mostly just cut and paste from the original post) thanks
Well mainly because most of them vary in size.. like some are huge and some are really tiny... also some are super blurry and stuff. (response to what you said on the to-do list talk page) - Ash Crimson 20:36, October 23, 2009 (UTC)
IRC "troll"
Coeur du Lion Bleu - "Be careful, dear friend, lest you fall into the endless ocean of stars..." - 水風死 TALK - 22:38, November 7, 2009 (UTC)
There is a very annoying person on the IRC and no ops in sight. Will you come?
Seconded. Apparently, before I arrived he was making lots of lewd remarks, and he's recently liked to a porn game. Goes by the name of Malcolm_seX. Me, User:1stclasswarrior, and some of the others are trying to convince him to leave, but to no avail. Also, the S&M subtext of "accepting his punishment" is getting on my nerves.
Edit: Never mind, crisis averted. He left.
FëasindeTalk"In this spheric universe, love is inverse." 06:53, November 8, 2009 (UTC)
And did someone keep a log? Did someone at least wrote down the guy's subnet mask number? See, asking on a talk page to come to the IRC is not only quite a senseless way of summoning somebody to a channel, it should also be apparent that an away status on said channel implies Exactly What It Says On The Tin.
Spare me any kind of smart-ass replies, I'm in no mood. The next time you guys want somebody banned on the channel write down his or her info.
Feavyre, I logged on soon after they left the message. You might like to doublecheck the ban listing, in case I messed up (again >_<").

Don't mind DSS, Fae. That was me, using a nick I've used several times before, not to mention several people called me by name, but I guess he just doesn't pay attention. And I wasn't "trolling", unless asking BL why she visits the IRC when she claims to hate it is trolling.

Drake, you're a jerk. Do I still get points for trying, Fae?

This is not well known by now? Once again you obviously don't pay attention.
Linux
I am running a HP pavilon dv7-1245dx entertainment notebook PC, with a partitioned hard-drive with Unbuntu Linux (Version 6.02 I THINK, its been a while since I was on the other OS since I cannot do anything with it right now) and Vista (IE the prime reason I want to get linux working posthaste.) Sorry it took so long to reply, I lost my home wifi almost two weeks ago and have been having to use my online time better, and the wiki comes after myspace (I only use it to keep in contact with old friends I never see), tvtropes and news outlets. Exdeath64 22:13, November 9, 2009 (UTC)
6.02? That may be a part of the problem, as Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala was released just a few days ago already. But, to tell the truth, I've heard HP's are a bitch to work with when using Ubuntu. My girlfriend owns a HP and Ubuntu gave her loads and loads of trouble. Try upgrading to a more recent version (don't worry, recent versions run fine on old computers) or at least try running the OS from the liveCD. Faethinte audio 04:16, November 10, 2009 (UTC)
If I get K.K, can I just update unbuntu, or would I have to re-install and repartition everything all over again? And I tried the CD thing, but it can't hurt to give it another try I guess. And what do you mean "Old" computer? Its top of the line (even more so now that I have had some time to screw with it, I can never just leave technology alone, I have to improve it if I know how and can do it without sacrificing human lives and causing large/moderately sized explosions.), if not a little dirty and I just bought the thing in March. Exdeath64 21:39, November 10, 2009 (UTC)
A friend of mine recommends that you reinstall Ubuntu 9.10 (as opposed to upgrade 6.02 to 9.10, which is possible). Just save your home directory onto some other partition (if you have one) and just install Karmic over your current version. When you're done, try the network. If it doesn't work, get back to me. Faethinte audio 22:04, November 10, 2009 (UTC)
edit 22:08, November 10, 2009 (UTC): You don't have to repartition anything. During the installation, when the system prompts you to choose your partition, just select the one where you installed 6.02 originally. Faethinte audio 22:08, November 10, 2009 (UTC)
