Table width classes
Edit
Cat, I'm fairly sure we discussed this before. The width table classes were not added to monobook for a reason. I disagree with that reason mind. I'll see if I can find our discussion, but somewhere on Bluestar's talk page is the reason. 79.69.196.41 23:25, December 17, 2012 (UTC)

- User talk:JBed/Archive#full-width class.
- Of course, I personally believe it should be in monobook, so if you want to get opinions (presenting the idea it will help people make tables for Oasis) you can add it via consensus. 79.69.196.41 23:29, December 17, 2012 (UTC)

- I know how, however I don't like enemy templates. And I started trying to implement a new system to FFD but then I couldn't decide how I should do it.
- And now I know how I should do it but it's too late to do it tonight. 79.69.192.62 00:29, December 19, 2012 (UTC)

Removing something from the Monobook view
Edit
I'd like to remove from my Monobook view that IMO stupid row of buttons above the editted area representing bolding, italics, internal and external links, H2 headings, and such, but I don't know if it can be done. If you know a code for it, please tell me. I dislike it and sometimes acts as a disadvantage for me when editing articles.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 18:57, December 21, 2012 (UTC)

That's much clearer: I noticed the {{{game}}} field while editing the code, but really...it would be kinda stupid to sneak-edit the code just to notice another paramater, but you provided some information so that's good. FFT Image
Edit
Would it be possible for you to upload a image of the main menu taken from the overworld in Final Fantasy Tactics on the Menu article when you have time. Offering some FFT images
Edit
Hey! Think you'd be able to contact me via tumblr(arubboth@tumblr) since trying to navigate through here for communicating is a bit hard.
I was directed by JimCloud1993 to contact you since you work with the Tactics pages. I have just a couple images to offer if they haven't been added yet to FFT. They're from the card books.

Ah yes, just wondering if you put all of those FFT images you removed from the Image Hosting Page on pages or something? I noticed that you chopped out like the entire section for it there. Just making sure that it's on pages somewhere so that it's not clogging up Unused Images (even though Unused Images is being stupid right now and shows things that are on pages already...makes it harder to figure out what needs to be removed and whatnot than necessary >__>).

The FFT images I removed will all be used in the next two to three weeks or so. Since not that many people are going to check the Image Hosting 3 page, it'll probably be easier to just remove them now rather than hunt them down every time I make a new locations page.

I think the idea originally came from BlueHighwind or Fenrir9, not sure which. And FFHacktics got all the nice maps from the game originally.
But procrastination is all in a day's work for the FFWiki Editors, right? | |||
Procrastination? Hell yeah. I never finish anything. I finish parts of things, but rarely the full thing. In early 2009 I started the category overhaul and we got as far as renaming all the existing categories to use the OCD rule. And the Before Crisis enemies also started even earlier in that year, but I only made a few. And thems help pages and project pages? Every now and then I have reason to go on those pages, then I just call them shit and walk on.
Nowadays I just essentially create "prototypes", that would be the first in a massive project but I never can pull myself through the entire thing. See VII's location overhaul: Nibelheim; IX's location overhaul: Dali; and X-2s location overhaul: Celsius.
The amount of things to improve on the wiki overwhelms me. JBed (talk) 19:38, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

Opinion
Edit
I darn wroted a help page for Selection Functions.
Since this is a topic about something most of our users don't know about, it would help if I could get feedback from people to see if they understand it and say whether anything needs to be clarified or made clearer.

I only know how to use #if, #ifeq and #switch (plus choose/option and the parameter pipe, but everybody knows how to use those), so I'm not the best person to go to, but yeah, most people aren't going to care either way. FFT Portrait Gallery

I've always wanted to do a gallery page for all the portraits of FFT (including WotL) on the wiki, similar to the FF# Enemy Abilities Gallery page. Hello, my name is Nova. I got into the Final Fantasy series literally a day ago and I'm very curious about how the games work. Do you have a moment
Edit
I figured it would work better if i contacted you here, we have a new user at FFA Wiki called Ramsti, now this doesn't bother me but it's what he wrote on his profile that does
I am only here to help this place grow and expand. I am glad to help here finally.
Now normally something like that is nothing to get concerned about but the fact he wrote finally makes me think it might be Mar1 again, i was thinking of doing an I.P Address check from the Wikia Central, what are your thoughts?. The Nemesisx 02:30, April 8, 2013 (UTC)
Glad to know it's not just me that's thinking the same way, keep me posted on any updates please, thanks in advance. The Nemesisx
Just realized something, Ramsti's username spelled backwards says Itsmar. The Nemesisx.
With their help we should be able to block his I.P without any issues. The Nemesisx 05:42, April 8, 2013 (UTC)
- The name could be a coincidence. The last few times Mar made a sockpuppet he didn't try to hide who he was, and so far Ramsti hasn't done anything suspicious; but I suppose there's no harm in checking his I.P, so long as we keep things under wraps. Wouldn't want to scare off a new user.

Change instances of "IOS" to "iOS"?
I wonder if that would break something else? It needs to be specifically done on "Template:FFV Enemies" and "Template:FFV multi Enemies" pages, since the old parameters used IOS over iOS and if they were ever used they need to be fixed. JBed (talk) 21:41, May 9, 2013 (UTC)

- The templates keep repeating until the page can no longer display them and breaks.
- It used to not be a table at all, just a list, because info wouldn't fit to a table very well in Oasis.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:14, May 23, 2013 (UTC)
- I was looking earlier, and it looked fine to me, but only when it was the most recent revision, trying to look at similar old revisions just causes it to not load. I don't know what the fuck. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 01:17, May 23, 2013 (UTC)
The page contained a template. Because the page looked different on Oasis and monobook. So instead of inputting the details of each weapon twice, a template created both, then hid the one not relevant to the user's skin.
Now that I think about it, that would have completely butchered the page for mobile users.
But the old table design was too wide for Oasis. And before we used that table design we used what has been the Oasis design.
So the page contained a template and embedded itself. But templates always take the current revision, so if you look at a past revision of that page, it will be embedding the current version (since no onlyinclude tags used). If you want to make old revisions viewable again, you'll have to add empty onlyinclude tags to the page.
Ergo, catering for monobook users... never again. 2.102.231.93 14:17, May 23, 2013 (UTC)
- ...That seems incredibly overcomplicated, especially when the full-width and half-width tables look perfect in monobook. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 22:23, May 23, 2013 (UTC)
- ... Huh? It wasn't always a table.
- It used to be a table, but we couldn't think of a design to make it fit in Oasis.
- So a design was written for Oasis. Either I designed it, or it was a design used on the page before it was ever a table: I forget.
- But the table was kept intact for monobook, because tables are generally preferred. JBed (talk) 00:00, May 24, 2013 (UTC)
