Reason for removal? Edit

Hey, I just noticed that you were removing the deletion template for the music pages on the articles I had marked, based on the MoS's notability check, but you gave no reason for it, so I was wondering if you could tell me why you were doing so. Thanks!

The tracks reoccur on other media/albums don't they?

Only once listed for both of them, and that's what I was going off of. MoS says they need at least 3 appearances on 3 separate media: Once in the original and two elsewhere.

The MoS says this? I'll doublecheck and see.

Ah yes, you're right. Good of us to have a notability guide.

Lindzei Edit

Is the Narthex statue being Lindzei from the Ultimania Omega? And I always thought it's Eden! Because...you know...alternate dimension inside Eden and all, I thought Narthex is like "the brain". But cool, maybe all gods are actually goddesses then, if Pulse is also female. (What a translation blunder if that's true, or Japanese just doesn't differentiate between the two?)Keltainentoukokuu 16:47, October 22, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu

Yeah its from the Ultimania Omega. That's the best part is when the Ultimania really pinpoints stuff like this so we're sure of what we write. Since the statue looks female, I think its safe to say Lindzei is a goddess. BLUER一番 19:22, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

Official texts on wikiEdit

A while back, we used to have a lot of random anons coming onto the wiki and changing character's heights. To settle things once and for all (or what I thought to be, I think there's an official contradictory source somewhere -- but to settle some official heights) -- I used the VII euro manual. Later on, I decided to host the Euro manual on wiki. Final Fantasy VII/Manual.

Now, the benefits of this is it allows people without the manual to use it to support what they're saying, it allows people with the manual to not have to find it, and it allows Ctrl+F to quickly navigate it. It's also word-for-word, so if the manual uses "Tifa Lockheart" and "Barrett Wallace", it gives you semi-official "aka"s for characters. It will also allow the ability to compare discrepencies between manuals if the American one is different to the Euro.

I don't know if there's any legal issues with doing this. I fear there might be. However, I want to know if you think having the manuals on wiki is a good idea? And whether I should kill my days adding them? 88.108.110.204 11:49, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

Need an Outsider's Opinion Edit

There is an ongoing discussion on the Talk:Action Encounter page as to the significance of the difference between Action Encounters and Fixed Encounters. All the arguments can be viewed on the first page, and though the debate has carried on for over a day now, I have noticed a lack of momentum, and thus thought it would be time to introduce a neutral third party to end the debate once and for all.

If you have the time, and no other has done so thus far, can you please review the debate and make a decision, as we both seem incapable of doing so at this point.

Also, in a rather unrelated matter (but I fear it will result in a similar stalemate as it is between and same person and I), could you please clarify if Garnet or Dagger is the appropriate title for Princess Garnet of Final Fantasy IX, in the context of a page such as Garland (Final Fantasy IX Boss).

I thank you for your time, and apologize for being unable to resolve this matter between yourselves. Likeacupcake 13:19, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

This message is to inform you that you're assistance is no longer needed, as a decision had been reached. I thank you for your time. Likeacupcake 15:09, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

Vagrant Story Question Edit

In the wiki's location articles for VS we have these table things with all the info in 'em, as well as the info in list format. Which is the one we're supposed to use? Example: Wine Cellar R8.50Mango 14:56, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

TBH, I was planning to use tables to list out the Enemies and Treasures in one section, instead of a lengthy list spread into two. Now, I'm not so sure. BLUER一番 15:02, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
So I should just wait for a bit, or should I start moving the info into tabular form? R8.50Mango 15:05, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
Start moving and we'll work from there ^^ BLUER一番 15:06, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
Yes Sir! R8.50Mango 15:08, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
Hehe, good luck to us all ^^ BLUER一番 15:15, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

Speaking of Vagrant Story, how should we record the drops from enemies? They differ depending on the room, and some enemies appear in quite a few areas. — YuanSalutActa 00:15, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

Isn't that why we did an enemy article? BLUER一番 11:40, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but not all the enemies have the same equipment. R8.50Mango 11:53, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
As above. For example, one of the Skeletons in the Academic's Corridor has a chance of dropping a Saint's Nostrum, while the other drops its Polearm. That's just within the one room. How can we record all of these without bloating the infobox? I'm starting to think we might need a separate table. — YuanSalutActa 11:15, November 5, 2010 (UTC)
Well, you have that text space on the left side of the infobox, yes? Why don't we use that? BLUER一番 16:36, November 5, 2010 (UTC)
In that case, I'll remove the "Item drop" variable from the infobox. — YuanSalutActa 03:24, November 6, 2010 (UTC)

Well, all right. I have second thoughts about the current formatting of the locations pages. We need ideas!BLUER一番 12:51, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

Nibelheim. I'm sure if we wanted to we could intergrate the enemies into a simple:
;Encounters
*[blah]
*[blah]
At the bottom of each section about a location with random encounters. That any good? That design was originally chosen as it made sure to give every sub-location a mention, and made it easier for players to locate treasures. 80.42.253.221 17:32, November 3, 2010 (UTC)
VS doesn't have any random encounters and I think we were using this format before. Oh, right. About the images Bluer: Is it okay if they have Ashley in them? 'cause Imma screenshoot them. R8.50MangoExdeathbattle 09:26, November 5, 2010 (UTC)
I think we should, as always, follow the MoS.

More VS stuff. I concocted a new, better looking enemy template for it - User:SilverCrono/Sandbox. Tell me what you think. --ShirubaKurono Dissicon ff13 Lig3 07:12, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

Not to shatter your self esteem (again) there Crono, but we're trying to get rid of tables and infoboxes because they (apparently) don't work in Oasis. Though I see no problems with it. R8.50MangoExdeathbattle07:59, November 7, 2010 (UTC)
Remove all tables and infoboxes? What? I meant for the enemy template, not items or whatever. I know nothing about VS, I just remade the template cuz the old one was ugly. Wtf is u talkin bout? --ShirubaKurono Dissicon ff13 Lig3 08:01, November 7, 2010 (UTC)
Nevermind then, I was thinking about something else R8.50MangoExdeathbattle 08:05, November 7, 2010 (UTC)
Let's see if we can get it to work then. I've replaced the present template with your design. BLUER一番 11:49, November 7, 2010 (UTC)
Why have we just changed the structure of enemy templates? Where's the consistency? 80.42.254.253 14:19, November 7, 2010 (UTC)
It's just a test. I hoped to hear comments on the template talk page. BLUER一番 14:25, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

Right, I'm adding the location images like you asked me to </late>. This is okay? And are we going to remove the infobox table thingies, or are we going to keep them? R8.50Mango 12:48, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! To me, it looks okay. As for the table thingy, well, it depends now. If the writer is comfortable working with a table, that's fine by me. I was thinking a column on "Connected Rooms" would sound great; listing rooms that are connected. BLUER一番 16:33, November 24, 2010 (UTC)
Awright, will do. R8.50Mango 16:54, November 24, 2010 (UTC)

About the mess up Edit

Hey, I want to thank you for responding for me. I guess I sort of paniced when I happen to see it on the Recent activity. I really wanted to show some friends prodress on my work.

So it's still possible for me to make a subpage within my subpage so long as I use the user: and it doesn't end up on the Wikia recent activity? Thank you for your time. Razordash 12:21, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

Don't worry about it. For one thing, it's the job of the Recent Activity to log in whatever was happening in the wiki. But it's not something to be embarrassed about.
It's possible to make a subpage of your subpage, as long as the naming of all the main subpage remains the same. If it's "User:Razordash/Subpage" the subpage would be "User/Razordash/Subpage/Subpage". It will still show up in the Recent Activity since it's essentially a log. Either way, keep up what you're doing and do your best :) BLUER一番 13:39, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

Image attribution. Edit

It seems that attribution under thumbed images has started to creep back into the default Wikia skin. It's evident on Diamond Weapon but not all pages seem to be affected. Fortunately there's a simple fix in the .css file:

Change this:

div.picture-attribution {
display:none !important;
}

To this:

.picture-attribution {
display:none !important;
}

This eliminates any use of the picture-attribution class rather than div elements that implement it. Thanks! BlueGoobbue 04:34, December 16, 2010 (UTC)

Done~ BLUER一番 23:54, December 17, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry to be a bother, but it seems that the change needs to go in Wikia.css instead of Common.css. The former was created as a copy of the latter so they both had the div.picture-attribution bit. Hopefully changing Wikia.css will be the end of it. Thanks again! BlueGoobbue 23:39, December 18, 2010 (UTC)

Surely you aren't so blind to see that there actually has been cheating? Other than the lop-sided votes, straight up we can see two almost identical IPs, 95.154.230.xxx. And anyone with the least bit of sense would have made sure their IPs weren't almost identical. 80.42.251.136 13:39, December 26, 2010 (UTC)
You assume cheating - can you prove it? Lop-sided anon votes is hardly an indicator of cheating, it often ends up that way in many DNC fights. DoreikuKuroofangu - Visit the Soul Shrine! 13:40, December 26, 2010 (UTC)

Music Edit

While you're working on music, should the sound tracks Ronfaure have its own page? It's now been in XI(and its OST), Dissidia 012, Piano Collections Final Fantasy XI, XI's 8th Anniversary Track, and Distant Worlds II. Just curious if enough of those counted. Jimcloud Cloud Chocobo 16:22, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

Yes. The general recommendation would be that the track has at least two other versions on different albums/games; so according to your info, Ronfaure should easily have its own article. BLUER一番 16:28, February 18, 2011 (UTC)
All righty then. Should I split the page up like so: Ronfaure (Location) and Ronfaure (Music).. or Ronfaure (Final Fantasy XI) and Ronfaure (Music)? Jimcloud Cloud Chocobo 16:41, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

FFWiki Youtube Account Edit

As I recall, it's your email that's currently being used in said account, so I come to you to bring up an issue. I went to log into the account to upload new EX Burst vids for the Wiki, and couldn't because YT now has this ridiculous policy that you have to link your YT account to a Google account, so when I tried to log in (and I suspect it'll happen if you check too), I got a screen to the effect of "link to a Google account or sign out".

So what do we do? DoreikuKuroofangu 22:19, April 8, 2011 (UTC)

Joking, but really, can't we just make a Google account for the wiki? Making an account isn't that hard in itself. Change the YouTube email to a new one for the wiki and we should be fine, right? Bluestarultor Best-of Stellar Arena sigicon BSA 22:37, April 8, 2011 (UTC)
Bluestar's idea seems good to me.
In relation to that I think we need to reorganize the wiki's social networking capabilities. We certainly do need to start utilizing these tools, and staff handling the wiki's Youtube, Facebook, Twitter etc. BLUER一番 23:41, April 8, 2011 (UTC)
Agreed. On the YT thing for now, would you want to make the Google account for it, or shall I? IIRC, Google accounts in turn need an email for them, don't they? Chapter 4 Ramza turnaround art Edit

Hi there Bluerfn,

I'm a huge fan of FFT and everything that spawned from it (Ivalice Alliance). I am an avid fan of Akihiko Yoshida's art, and when I'm not scouring the internet for new art/higher res art of his work, I'm cursing Square-Enix for not releasing an extensive artbook showcasing all of it.

I first saw Ramza's Chapter 4 armor here on the ff wiki, which was provided by you. Since then I have been desperately trying to find out two things:

1) I've been trying to find a higher rez, crisp and not pixelated image file, AND/OR

2) I've been trying to figure out what product features this image.

I first thought it was from one of the "Final Fantasy Tactics Character Card Books," but after previewing the contents of the two available volumes, I was sad to see the cards were just the single character/light yellow background with decorative corner art available all over the web.

Plus, those card books were published in Japanese. Ramza's Chapter 4 turnaround has English captions, which leads me to believe it is from an English product of sorts. The time stamp on the file you uploaded says it was created in August 1st, 2003. That tells me this is not promotional work for the WoL PSP release, but probably some sort of product from the PS1 FFT's 1997 release.

If you have any information regarding the source of this image, I would really appreciate it! I've been trying to find this image for many months now, and I'm going a little batty. I LOVE Yoshida's work. If there was an art book full of his FFT turnarounds— AND I don't know about it— I want to remedy that situation post haste!

Thanks for your time, patience and understanding with my request,

Getting a banner for The Keyhole on the front page Edit

As has been expressed here, The Keyhole (the Wikia KH Wiki) already has us listed as an affiliate. I believe that us not having kept up our end of the link shows bad faith on our part and I'd like to see it rectified. I realize this revolves around the current discussion, but the consensus seems to be that there's nothing wrong with linking both on our front page regardless of who is linked in our articles, which is not so prevalent that it can't be decided later. I'm sending this out to all active admins in hopes that there will be communication and ultimately a fast result. Bluestarultor Best-of Stellar Arena sigicon BSA 19:22, October 16, 2011 (UTC)

We should verify this status with KHWiki.net so as to give preferential recognition until a final decision is made. - Henryacores^ 19:25, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
I fail to see why we shouldn't recognize an existing affiliation when nothing is stopping us from affiliating with both. As I said, it seems people agree we can affiliate to both, but only need to link to one in our articles. This has zero bearing on that. This has a bearing on us having a banner for an affiliate along with all our other affiliate banners on the front page. We can decide which our articles should link to separately from this. Bluestarultor Best-of Stellar Arena sigicon BSA 19:49, October 16, 2011 (UTC)

RC-AJAX isn't a biggie but who knows what they'll toss out the window next... (Cat + meow)(RC + Sbox) = FFW16:12, December 1, 2011 (UTC)

Never mind, it works again. (Cat + meow)(RC + Sbox) = FFW16:13, December 1, 2011 (UTC)

Shadow of the ColossusEdit

Hi, I think it was you who recommended this game to me. I got the Ico HD collection for PS3 and gave it a go. I thought both games were amazing, Ico maybe moreso than Shadow, but both were very good. I think I sucked in Shadow of the Colossus though...Wikipedia says average game time is 8-10 hours and I had 17 hours (lol) so... Did Ico in 10 hours though and Wikipedia says average game time 7-10 hours so I was only on the worse side of the average instead of god awful. ;)Keltainentoukokuu 17:20, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

I really struggled with Colossus number 15. First I just couldn't figure out how to climb up high enough to jump on it (hindsight of course that is really obvious), and then struggled to jump on it, and then struggled to get the last vitals on the hand...aaaargghhh. Also Colossus number 3 was hard but that was probably because I just hadn't really got the hang of it yet. Also fell off like a million times in the last Colossus but I guess it's the point that it is the hardest and needs the best precision with jumps and stuff.
The one where you ride the horse and shoot the Colossus in the eye was awesome. The level design was just very good in both games, the world in Shadow and the abandoned castle in Ico. Riding around on your horse shining the sword was so cool.Keltainentoukokuu 04:47, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

FF Tactics ImagesEdit

Nice. I see you uploaded the Onion Knight job art. Do you intend to upload Dark Knight, too? If not, I've got the images. Should they be transparent? I feel that drawn art shouldn't really be cut up like that, but that's just me. ▫ Sir ISStalk 03:47, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

BTW, I've decided on Sir ISS as my username here (just the signature) ;) ▫ Sir ISStalk 03:48, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

I'll answer to Sir Icy! Anyway, after returning here with bucketfuls of art (and FFIX being a particular favorite of mine), my latest project is to identify and perhaps upload as much concept art of minor and even obscure characters from the game. A lot of them are on this page. Perhaps, I can ask you for assistance? ▫ Sir ISStalk 04:29, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

What I meant was, I've got a beautiful magazine-type artbook (mook) from Japan (not the Art of Final Fantasy IX). The images are crisper and cleaner looking, and great for scanning. It's funny, I remember not liking the art style back in 2000, but I quickly grew to appreciate and even love it. It seems that the aforementioned character list was mainly organized by somebody named Xenomic. Ring any bells? If you're not familiar with the more obscure characters and what they look like, maybe this person would. Also, perhaps, a screenshots resource somewhere on the web, where I could compare the characters to the concept art? Either that, or do it the hard way and power on my PS3, and play the actual game, but that's more time-consuming than anything else! I feel pretty passionate about this "project" and I'm hoping nobody will shoot it down because these are minor (and hence, useless) characters, but there is SO MUCH trivia and little bits about things on this wiki, I just can't see how someone (not you) might try to discourage me. I remember a couple of people being extremely nitpicky here, but I understand. This wiki's their baby. ▫ Sir ISStalk 05:00, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, Blue. You are wise, as ever. :) ▫ Sir ISStalk 06:11, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

Happy Holidays!Edit

Hope you are enjoying your holidays! I wanted to bring this to your attention. What do you think? ▫ Sir ISStalk 06:58, December 25, 2011 (UTC)

Not interested for now. BLUER一番 00:41, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

FFWiki YouTube Channel Edit

Catuse says at 19:14, February 10, 2012 (UTC) for great justice...
"Never trust a man until you've run a mile in his shoes. Then you're a mile away from him and you've stolen his shoes."
Hello Bluer, I was wondering if I could use the FFWiki YouTube channel when I reupload the videos at Limit (Final Fantasy VII)/Videos. I was told to ask you about it. The FFWiki channel calls for "trust". I'm not sure if that means that I'd be given the password or not, but I'm not going to use it maliciously. Thanks either way

Erm, I sent you the email shortly after you got back to me... did it not go through or something? I can use my own YouTube channel if something's wrong... (Cat + meow)(RC + Sbox) = FFW 22:39, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

DrakeCHenryA has it. BLUER一番 00:41, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Edit

If you're still here when you get this, could I request some Admin-type assistance please? Doreiku Kuroofangu 14:16, February 18, 2012 (UTC)

Just post on the Admin Noticeboard, I'm sure other admins can do it when I'm not here. BLUER一番 10:40, February 19, 2012 (UTC)

The YT ChannelEdit

Hey Bluer. I was wondering if you had the new password for the FFWiki YouTube account, since the password seems to have changed. If you do, could you email it to me? Thanks. ScatheMote 23:37, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

Hey SM. DrakeClawfang has it. BLUER一番 00:41, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

Feolthanos Exultant Edit

Here's a blast from the past. Do you by any chance remember where you got this artwork of Feolthanos Exultant from? http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Feolthanos_Exultant

I thought I had every official book out there in Japanese and English for Revenant Wings(The Ultimania, Bradygames guide, the V-Jump Flight Master guide, and the Famitsu Expert Guide Book)....and yet I cannot find this art in any of them. I have everything else accounted for, and added the missing images as well, but this one is a mystery, and it's killing me not being able to find it anywhere but on this wiki. Espritduo 18:42, July 3, 2012 (UTC)

I've got the image from the Revenant Wings Ultimania. It's not under the enemy section but somewhere within the pages - probably from the novella section (if it had any). BLUER一番 00:41, July 18, 2012 (UTC)
Found it on page 238. Man, I scoured that book, and missed it every time. Thanks! Espritduo (talk) 01:03, July 18, 2012 (UTC)
Good to know! BLUER一番 01:17, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

Twitter Edit

Hello Bluer. I think we are ready to restart the FFWiki Twitter page. Could you DM the password to my personal twitter account (@Jeppo99) or catch me on the IRC (I'm on later this afternoon) and I'll take it from there? Thanks in advance. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 09:55, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

Hello Jeppo. I will pass the responsibilities to you. BLUER一番 00:41, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

Please comment on a potential redesign for Halloween to get publicity from Wikia. Doreiku Kuroofangu 01:59, October 16, 2012 (UTC)

The Halloween redesign looks great! The logo is nice and appropriate. Maybe the greenish text on Monobook could be placed over a background - I know there's a way to do that somewhere - so it doesn't mesh with the background. I suppose that's all from me. BLUER一番 09:15, October 19, 2012 (UTC)
I suppose you are talking about the nagivations?
Try this:
#column-one div.portlet h5{background:black !important;border-top-left-radius:4px;border-top-right-radius:4px;border:1px solid #FF8C00; border-bottom:1px solid black}
