I am Sorceror Nobody (非存在最高のエンティティ Hi sonzai saikō no entiti, "non-existent supreme entity"), not to be confused with Sorcerer Nobodies. Although I am a Nobody, I'm not under Xemnas's control, nor am I affiliated in any way with the Organization. Moving more towards Final Fantasy, my favourite characters include – but are far from limited to – the Emperor (faaaaabulous~), Terra (sexy), Kefka (literally crazy awesome), Sephiroth (coolest villain), Vincent (also cool), Kuja (one of the best villains in the series, period), Auron (High Lord of Badass), Balthier (the leading man, who else?), Lightning (uber sexy), Sazh (one of the best characters in the series, period), Fang (attitude and awesome) and Barthandelus (sheer Magnificent Bastard). I seem to buck a few popularity trends too; for example I actually quite like Genesis. I don't see why people hate him so much, although I must admit his endless LOVELESS recitals can be a bit annoying. I also don't dislike Vaan or Hope, but I do dislike people gratuitously bashing them.
Although I'm not particularly keen on real sports, I love Blitzball... in FFX. They killed it stonedead in X-2. Don't get me wrong, I like Sphere Break, but what they did to Blitzball was utterly terrible. I mean, Brother was a good player in X, but all of the Gullwings start crap in X-2. What went wrong? That is, other than his crush on Yuna, which is very wrong...
You should bear in mind that I have imitated Uncyclopedia's style with many of the hyperlinks on this userpage. In other words, it's generally worth hovering your cursor over the links to see what they actually link to! I also have a couple of personal in-jokes, as it were, that I use very occasionally. The most prominent is that any time I mention the backstory of FFVIII's characters, I inevitably refer to it as "contrived", "lame" or similar, and always make the derogatory phrase link to Edea's Orphanage. Also, since obtaining Dissida, I've started to rip into BradyGames whenever a relevant opportunity crops up. Piggyback is far superior.

As a nonexistence higher even than fal'Cie, I am able to bind other users to my service as Sorceror l'Cie... although unlike fal'Cie, I tend to do it with permission only. Furthermore, I don't hand down Foci as a hazy glimpse of poor-quality FMV footage like the fal'Cie do. No, my l'Cie receive their Foci in top-notch Blu-ray quality, and get to keep the disc it's on as well – DVD is available if the l'Cie doesn't have access to a Blu-ray player. The Focus vision comes complete with surround sound with full orchestral backing from the musical perfomer(s) of your choice (or, by default, The Black Mages). Both subtitles and widescreen are also options that I offer. Sorceror l'Cie also obtain a much stronger form of magic than fal'Cie l'Cie do, derived as it is from pure nega energy. As you can see, my l'Cie get real perks! On the other hand, my Cie'th are correspondingly much more grotesque and misshapen – although this actually makes them extremely awesome too – but the universe has to balance things out somehow, right? I also reserve the right to assign new Foci to my l'Cie at any time (forewarning is given of this). Any user branded a Sorceror l'Cie will receive a personal version of the above template, filled out with the specs that the transformation grants them. This example template shows what the effective specs would be if I myself were branded... although of course I can't be my own l'Cie ...or can I? :P

My first (but hopefully not last) guide. It's probably one of the largest writing projects I've ever undertaken, and I hope it proves to have been worth writing. It's also the first Ring of Fates guide to be completed on the wiki, so I also hope it earns its place as such.
You may notice that I frequently refer to it as a "guide" instead of a "walkthrough", as the content of it extends somewhat beyond just the storyline and sidequests.

My main reason for creating this is that I love the game. Another reason is that I have the BradyGames guide, which is functional enough but otherwise shite. The book itself is comparatively poor quality, and the content has errors, needless repetition and the exclusion of a lot of useful info. If only Piggyback did guides for handheld games...
Because D012 > DFF, and because this guide has long since stalled, I am considering converting this into a D012 guide. If I do, I'll probably leave in the DFF info.
Mainly on a whim. I'm playing VIII, and there have been a few instances of me thinking something along the lines of "If I were writing a walkthrough, I'd make X remark about that". So, yeah. Now I can make X remark to my heart's content :P

While I in no way condone vandalism, reading her userpage and talk page brought me to the conclusion that the infamous vandal End Game is really quite a fascinating person

Previously, Monaco > Monobook. However, more recently, Wikia Central has brought in a raft of unwelcome alterations. I put up with it until they moved second-order section headings below their accompanying horizontal lines. This was the last straw, so I'm now converted: Monobook >> Monaco. Of course, with the incoming Oasis, I am even more glad of Monobook. There are no words to describe the true horror of Oasis.
I am really anal about UK/US spellings. Anything I write, apart from quoted text, will always use UK spellings. It may be common to see mixed sentences like "The Iron Armor is low-grade armour" because the US spelling is part of a quoted item name. No matter what Manual of Style changes are made to move this wiki towards the exceedingly unnecessary and boring state of "spelling consistency", I will persist in using UK spellings in anything I write. What I won't do is change US spellings to UK ones. I leave other people's US spellings alone; why can't the same respect be given to my UK ones? Just because most PAL games retain US spellings doesn't make it justified. Quite the opposite: it's utterly disgraceful that the localisation is incomplete. Put simply and undeniably, the games industry at large treats non-Japanese and non-US gamers like shit. We still don't even have Kingdom Hearts Re:CoM released in PAL regions – a point on which I personally am especially sore.

The Featured has now been suspended. With the updates missed now reaching their third month in a row, I clearly have lost incentive on this. It might be revived at some future time, but don't expect anything.
Each month, four things are selected for me to "feature": a character, a concept, an enemy and one other thing that isn't covered by those three categories. Each will have a basic description of what they are (e.g. the character may be an "antagonist") and an appropriately chosen picture. I will also make a brief commentary on each featured item as well. You can read the archive of my past featured entries here.
By default, the articles to be featured are chosen by me. Which is fair enough, seeing as it's my Featured. However, it can make things a bit more interesting if I have to write about something that I did not choose, and thus I accept other user's suggestions for which articles I should feature.

In his guise as the human Primarch, the fal'Cie Barthandelus is a pretty Magnificent Bastard. Manipulating the player party every step of the way, steering them towards his goal of Cocoon's destruction. XIII may have lacked many things, but a decent love-to-hate villain is not one of them. His mind games are especially epic in Oerba... although I am slightly disappointed that anyone other than Snow fell for his Serah illusion for more than half a second >_>

Even after having turned to stone the Cie'th cry out, imploring other l'Cie to fulfill the Focus they could not.
It is a cruel fate indeed to turn Cie'th, never able to escape your failure. On the other hand, were it not for the eternal regret, there would be no missions :P
As mission systems go, it doesn't feel particularly contrived. It makes sense within the mythology, although one does have to ask why it is that not one of the Cie'th had a Focus that was something other than killing monsters... and also how they hoped to complete it at all, given that the monsters respawn if you repeat the mission. Of course, that's a case of suspension of disbelief with regards to the gameplay, ne?

The roiling skies let loose a vile beast without a soul: Omega was its name.
Typically the strongest enemy in each game it has an appearance in, Omega is a name that is instantly recognisable to players.
...or indeed to anyone familiar witht the Greek alphabet, where Ω is the final (i.e. ultimate) letter.
Anyway, the strength of the Omegas varies considerably. In VI, it was added to the GBA port, and is pretty formidable. Not appearing in VII, it was revealed in DoC to be the Planet's last resort WEAPON. In VIII, it was the strongest enemy by far... although given how broken VIII is, that's not really saying a lot. There was no Omega in IX, while the incarnation in X was, quite frankly, feeble, as was the X-2 one. However, there are powerful enemies in both games, Nemesis and Paragon, which are of the same breed (read: palette swaps). Omega Mk. XII is variably considered to be hard; I personally didn't have too much trouble with it, but I'll agree that it's not easy. Finally, although comparing Dissidia's summons to one another is not easy, as their effects are quite varied, Omega is possibly the most potent summon after Shinryu (which the player can't use anyway). Rapidly and repeatedly halving the opponent's BRV is good both offensively (easier to inflict Break) and defensively (halving a lethal BRV total).
When the name Omega crops up, you can usually bet on it being attached to something noteworthy.

First of all, yes, I am aware that it's on the 360 as well as the PS3. Do I look like I care? :P
A heavily polarising game, dividing people between loving it and hating it. I'm in the former group. Sure, it's a little too linear, although that's as much a story imperative as anything else, but I like the characters, I like the music, and I absolutely love the battle system. As growth systems go, the Crystarium is pretty cool, and the equipment upgrade system is pretty interesting, if a little infuriating. Especially when it comes to Trapezohedrons.
In fact, considering the problematic development, the game probably could have turned out much worse. Haters should stop hatin' so much.
What, then, is my opinion on the recently-announced XIII-2? Firstly, it should be pointed out that to make any kind of comparison to X-2 would be incredibly pointless and trollish. Besides, even if it were a valid comparison, I don't hate X-2. It's inferior, but it doesn't deserve the hate it gets. Secondly, since I like XIII, I look forward to a further exploration of that world. I also look forward to more of Lightning, but that's a rather shallow consideration :P Still, there was apparently a lot of stuff cut from XIII, and it would be the obvious step to build that into XIII-2, making the game that much richer. We can only hope that Square Enix manages not to disappoint.

Flan's Elbow Colosseum
Like the Dragon's Neck Colosseum, but less prominent and a lot sillier. I mean, how can a Flan even have an elbow!? In accordance with this outright nonsensicality, a lot of FEC fights have abstract participants, or look one-sided but, on consideration, may not be. That said, we do also have relatively tame stuff about half the time :P
