I will serve well, maaaaaaster </creepy hunchback>
Damn Monobook for forcing me to use this thing!Edit
I've been around since 7 september 2010. Not so much for anyone reading this page as for myself. I have a terrible memory.
About Me (cause for some reason you people want to know. Stalkers.)Edit
I'm just a normalish guy from a small town in South Africa. There is literally nothing to do here and so I turned to gaming to keep me occupied. The first Final Fantasy I played was FFIV which a friend had lent to me (Hobosamurai). I hated it with all my heart and gave it back to him the very next day. The story doesn't end there though, later the same friend gave me a 13 part retrospective on the FF series made by gametrailers.com. This is where my obsession began. Skeptical at first due to my previous disappointment I soon warmed to the series around part 5 or 6 when FFVI was shown. I thought to myself "I would stab a man to play these games" and after burying the body I began at I(one) determined to work my way up from the beginning. This promptly fell through when II sucked, I couldn't get a copy of III, IV made me make a sandwich to calm my nerves and V bored me out of my skull. Getting through VI was possibly the best thing that ever happened to me. I had a proper nerdgasm at the Opera scene and I have a save state just when the final blow vs kefka was struck so that I could watch the ending again and again. Better things were to follow with VII.
(Two paragraphs will be enough to scare off the stalkers right?) VII Proved a bitch and a half to procure so I had to resort to blatantly stealing it from a friend (Don't worry, the cops will never find the body) who never actually played it. First playthrough I used a gamefaqs walkthrough which, while enjoyable, didn't add anything to the game for me. Then I discovered Him. The Glourious God of Walkthroughs. BlueHighwind. Though because of Him I avoided VIII like the plague and didn't finish it until recently. I was instead drawn to FFIX and enjoyed it greatly but was dismayed to find the walkthrough deleted when I wanted to play it again. Lack of PS2 prevented me from playing FFX but then I got off my ass and bought it to play XII(Next paragraph will be reserved solely for Ivalice) X was super easy and I can't say anything about it other than Tidus wasn't as bad as people make him out to be and Yuna wasn't as good as people make her out to be.
My near-insane (scratch that, totally insane) love for Ivalice began when I played FFT. Oh. My. Godthisisafuckingawesomegamewhyaren'tyouplayingitrightnow! Story. Gameplay. JOB SYSTEM! I PAYED someone so that I could play this game after I borrowed it for a day. I can explain this with an excerpt from the people at Socksmakepeoplesexy.com
"Pat," Polly answered. "A little kid running around with a cereal bowl on his head is silly. Final Fantasy V's story is just retarded."
"WHAT?" I asked. "WHAT WAS THAT? I'M SORRY, I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER ALL THIS JOB SYSTEM."
Admittedly this exchange was about V but the same holds true here. Play it sucka.
(Four Paragraphs is enough to make anyone give up right?) FFXII is the most awesome in the main series and not just because BlueHighwind says so. No Random Battles. Gambits Make Everything Better. Damn Good Story. Friggin BALTHIER! About the only thing bad about the game was that you had to work your ass off to get anything good. I have internet. I could play a MMO if I wanted Square. I don't need this in my living room please. And get rid of VAAN for goodness sake! Other than that this is by far the best Main Series game out there.
And now for the Coup De Grace: VAGRANT STORY Why do you think it's the game I chose to Walkthrough? Because I have not found another game that even comes close to beating it in terms of story, gameplay and protagonist. Getting a Holy Win is impossible, but for goodness sake internet people! You Don't Need It! The game is already easy enough! Chaining abilities, RISK, the puzzles...All brilliant. Story: Those Flashbacks, Is Ashley a murderous psycopath(As I like to think) or a man given a pimpslap by fate? Coherency draining in face of awesomeness...The only problem I had here was that Nobuo Uematsu was uninvolved. Make. A. Remake. And. Fix. This. Square. Hitoshi Sakimoto can do battle music. He does good battle music.
My opinion on the other games is limited. FFII was okayish in retrospect, III wasn't too hard to procure(emulators), IV was as shit as ever, V really starts to get good when you find out Exdeath is a tree, VIII was a pain in the ass until I read Paramina's Walkthrough (She is a Walkthrough Godess akin to BlueHighwind (Only less offensive)(And with all walkthroughs intact)(Because of the lack of offensiveness)) and a replay of VI with Drake's Walkthrough actually got me through the Dragon's Den (He is another in the pantheon of...walkthrough..writers...Holy shit I just thought of a kickass religion)
That should get rid of the stalkers.
EDITI finished Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- on 18:57, January 19, 2011 (UTC). Unbelievably sexy game. I love it, even so far as to say it was near Vagrant Story in terms of awesomeness. All it needs are less missions, and the Final Fantasy Theme. Dissidia had it. CC can have it too. About the music, Takeharu Ishimoto makes one good song and then remixes it. This is not as major a problem as you would think, as the song he makes is pretty damn epic and some of the remixes are <3. F'r instance, The Burdened and The Price of Freedom. Look them up on YouTube. You will orgasm, I guarantee it. The game itself was excellent, bringing together graphics, gameplay, story and music into one heck of a package, it's only flaws being the missions and the way the Malboros stuff around before you can kill them. Yeah, that's it's only problems. Awesome.
My Vagrant Story Walkthrough, a Proudly South African Product!
Projects I'm Currently undertakingEdit
Why do you want to know? I'm not gonna tell you. Geez don't look at me like that...Okay okay I'll tell you, sheesh kids these days... A long time ago I was driving through the local Pick 'n Pay supermarket parking lot when I heard a man cry in the distinctive way that only South African Hawkers can do "Et Rend Feeeeefti Mengoes for saaaaaooooole!" and found it awesome. To this day I have kept the name, even going so far as to be called by it at school because I use it on all the sites I frequent. If you see a R8.50Mango anywhere at all, that's me.

|I just thought I'd go ahead and challenge you. Not out of spite, for perspective purposes.
They're not comparible. Iraq contains loads of information. We can't do that here because there isn't that much information to go on. We could compare Cloud Strife to our Cloud Strife, but you have to remember that their coverage is different to ours.
I would personally disagree. You see, Category:Articles with Incomplete Tables, Category:Articles Needing Images, and Category:Stubs will tell you that wiki isn't that great. Especially the latter Stubs category which is full, but not as full as it should be. I have preached before (under my old guise, and it still holds true) that I could go through every page on the wiki and make a change. I never had the time to do that, what, with all my other projects going on. Most of these projects never finished. Just because there was so much to do.
I used to be known for my Gnoming capabilities. "Gnoming" is a term that basically means minor edits spanning many pages. It could be fixing links after a page move, or just fixing links that were never fixed. It could be fixing spelling errors in articles, it could be table coding. Now I expect you might say to me you're not very good with coding - not many people are. You might say you're not good with spelling - I personally just use a spellchecker set to US English. You might say you can't find things to look - put in an effort?
Of course, not everyone is in to the Gnoming sort of thing. If you have any image capabilites, there's some work. I've uploaded many images, most of them either sourced from the internet, VII PC hacks, print screens from YouTube, or reuploading existing images. So you might say you're not very good at finding images - sometimes they aren't on the internet but we have YouTube. But you might say YouTube isn't good quality - well it's better than nothing. You might say you don't have the patience to look through videos for hours on end - well, if you actually want to help, with a bit of determination, why not? So you don't have the tools to take things directly from the game, most people don't. Reuploading existing images? And by that I mean uploading better versions. You might not have a good graphics program that can deal with transparency, or convert to HQ png. Well, there is something you can do. If files are bigger than 2000px in either dimension, they you can save the thumbnail, and reupload it. The brilliance of this is you don't have to do anything, and you're helping the wiki not breach fairuse. Or maybe you want to upload new images but you don't know what to add - Category:Articles Needing Images
Maybe you don't want to deal with images. Maybe you want to help with content? But there's no information to add, is there? Well that's wrong. Category:Stubs. You own some games, they are your source. You have YouTube? That is your source. There are GameFAQs? That is your source.
I consider myself an expert at FFI, IV, VII, VIII, and IX, CCVII and a semi-expert on FFII and V. Now, I think this because I've completed/played the games. Yes, that's all I need to declare myself an expert.
Now, I'll just assume you're not going to want to do tasks like Limit (Final Fantasy VII), or Nibelheim. Nibelheim will tell you why none of our Locations articles are any good. And "Limit (Final Fantasy VII)" will make you wonder how the wiki survived without such a massive chunk of information on the wiki.
I'll go back to my original point and tell you how there is no content on the wiki whatsoever. I will do this by going through the categorisations.
To get to the main point, wiki lacks information for every game in every aspect.
Hope this helps :) 126.96.36.199 21:50, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
