Hi. My name's Leon and your name's Hank, but you probably knew both of those things already. Anyway, I used to edit this wiki a lot, but now I only edit it a little. As of this very second, I've made 11,408 edits to this wiki. Below is my page about stuff nobody cares about and Japanese video games.
Me
Edit
I'm 18 years old and from Manchester, England. My birthday is on the 28th of March. I expect presents from all of you. Especially you.
I like video games a lot. My favourite series' are Mass Effect, Uncharted, Fallout, Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and Yakuza. I also like Final Fantasy games, but you probably haven't heard of those. I also like to watch people play video games 'cause it's a great source of humour and a fun way to experience cool games that I can't play myself for whatever reason. My favourite LPer is Chip Cheezum. You should check out his stuff because it's pretty awesome. Here's a Final Fantasy related thing he did that'll hopefully reel you in.
I'm planning to do some LPs of my own in the future. Stuff I wanna do include Sleeping Dogs, Child of Eden, and Resonance of Fate. I have some cool ideas for all of those. I also want to make a Dirge of Cerberus LP because I unfortunately know lots about the game and want to insult it. It'd also make a cool bonus feature for my walkthrough.
I have an account on Twitter where I sometimes say things. Follow it if you want to read the aforementioned things. If I recognise you from this site, I'll follow you too!
Me & Wikis
Edit
THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO, I joined this wiki to vote for Tifa in the DNC. I did it wrong though and my vote didn't count. After cutting myself a bunch of times to atone for my failures, I tried my hand at editing the actual wiki. I changed a use of "Aeris" to "Aerith". It was reverted quickly. After cutting myself a bunch of times to atone for my failures, I tried my hand at editing the actual wiki without doing something wrong. And I did! I made a minor correction to Balthier's page. Oh, how proud of myself I was. I bought myself cakes and balloons and everything. Anyway, in the next few months, I found ways to make myself a useful editor by fixing links and making the wiki feel more consistent. I did this around 10,000 times, and then lost access to the wiki because laptop problems. But then I fixed my laptop problems! But then I got internet related problems. But then I sorta fixed those problems! But by then, life had thrown cool things at me so I had become too busy to devote as much time as I used to to the wiki. So I left quietly. But now I'm back! Sorta! I'm still too busy to go on many hour long edit sprees like I used to, but I'm editing little stuff every now and then.
Stuff I do here is very minor. It's mostly just link fixes, grammar corrections, and stuff like that. I'll do other things sometimes, but it's usually just the stuff I just mentioned. Technically, my biggest contributions to the wiki are the two walkthroughs I wrote.
- My first walkthrough was for Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII- and can be found here. It's an awful walkthrough for an awful game. 90% of it is describing cutscenes and the other 10% is telling you to shoot enemies when you see them. And I also say good things about this game in it, which makes me want to punch myself. I replayed the game recently and found so much new stuff to make fun of, so I've started to very slowly rewrite this walkthrough. So far I've only finished a few bonus subpages, but I'm gonna get started on the actual game soon.
- My second walkthrough was for Final Fantasy XIII-2 and you can read that here. This is significantly better than my first walkthrough. It covers the entire game, from fragments to trophies. I'm pretty proud of this, since I wrote it in a week and I did it like a month after the game's release. It could use some improvements, however. It's not the prettiest thing since I wrote it entirely offline, so there's very little wikicode here and literally just one image in the whole thing. Fragment locations are a tad vague at times, and some boss strategies could use work too. I'm a little overly gushy about the game in it too, since I loved this game so much when it first came out and couldn't bring myself to find much flaw in it. I definitely intend to fix these problems eventually. This is currently the only XIII-2 walkthrough on-site. People are probably using it sometimes, so it should be the best walkthrough it can be, right?
I also started walkthroughs for II and XII, but never bothered finishing them. Sowwy. As for future walkthroughs, it's probably safe to expect one for Lightning Returns -Final Fantasy XIII- whenever that comes out. After that, I might also go back and write one for XIII so I'll have written one for that whole trilogy.
I also used to edit some other wikis. I'm an admin over at the Heavy Rain wiki and I did quite a bit of work on that. I adopted and am bureaucrat at TimeSplitters wiki, but I didn't really do a lot over there. And I'm the founder of Dragon's Dogma wiki, and all I have done there is promote people who actually care about the game/wiki. I'm not planning to go back and edit any of those wikis, or any new wikis, at this time.
My ability with wiki code has diminished a little since I've been inactive, but I still consider myself reasonably well-versed. I'm also good with HTML, CSS, and JS. Yay for me!
Me & Final Fantasy
Edit
This is the part where I bitch about video games because yeah. Not gonna talk about all of 'em in detail because I'm lazy. If you're offended by my opinions, then you should probably get out more.
Final Fantasy
Edit
It's really boring, but that's sorta okay because I don't really expect much from a game as old as this. For a 25 year old game, I guess it's alright, but I don't actually enjoy playing it. Music's cool though.
Final Fantasy II
Edit
Same deal as the first game really, except with less nice music. A lot of people complain about the character growth stuff here, but I didn't mind it.
Final Fantasy III
Edit
Tedious as hell with no real story. DS version is even worse, and it's graphics are really weird.
Final Fantasy IV
Edit
Cool game. Cecil is a funny name. It's the oldest Final Fantasy I can be bothered to play through multiple times, so obviously I find it at least somewhat fun.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Edit
Bad game. Ceodore is an even funnier name than Cecil. I don't quite remember why I don't like this game, but I'm certain I had some good reasons.
Final Fantasy V
Edit
It's okay.
Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals
Edit
I don't know why this even happened.
Final Fantasy VI
Edit
I'm bad at explaining why I love VI so much. It's just really good at everything it does. Music, characters, gameplay, story; all of it is excellent.
Final Fantasy VII
Edit
Awesome game. I don't like anybody's opinion of it though. Everyone either likes it too much or hates it too much. Anyway, this was the first FF game I ever played and was also my first RPG of any kind. I enjoyed it a lot even though I was really bad at it. Then I got better at it, and enjoyed it even more. Characters were cool. Tifa's one of my favourite characters in any game. I don't understand how people were/are attracted to her though, since she's a weird block thing in this game. I like a lot of the other characters too. Even Cait Sith is okay in this game because he doesn't have that horrible accent he showcases later. Gameplay's great here. Soundtrack's one of the best ever. So... yeah, awesome game.
Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-
Edit
The best of VII's children without a doubt. It's competition is some of the worst crap in the series, so that's no saying much actually. Anyway, the main draw here is the gameplay 'cause it's a lot of fun. Story is stupid for the most part but it picks up really well towards the end, culminating in one of my favourite endings in any game. Soundtrack is okay.
Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-
Edit
Very, very bad game. Awkward gameplay, ridiculously retarded story, terrible voice-acting, and some of the worst character designs in anything ever. I don't think this game has any redeeming features at all. For some dumb reason, my past self decided to write a walkthrough of this game. A bad one too. Don't read it. Don't play this game. If you absolutely have to experience it, head on over here and read this awesome SLP.
Dirge of Cerberus is without a doubt the worst game in the series. Maybe even the worst game that Square Enix have ever made. Wait, no.
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Edit
It's so pretty looking and everyone does a lot of flips and stuff, but ha, this is a really bad movie. Everything's all lame and whiny, and it all just sucks so much. It was cool when I first watched it because... I don't know, I guess I was just an idiot. The music is nice though. I especially like the track playing when everybody's on motorcycles and shit's exploding everywhere. Advent One-Winged Angel is really cool as well.
Final Fantasy VIII
Edit
I don't like this game. It looks really cool though.
Final Fantasy IX
Edit
IX is cool. I didn't enjoy playing it that much for some reason, but the story was nice and I like a lot of the characters.
Final Fantasy X
Edit
I liked X lots. Battle system is fantastic and in that aspect, this game is one of my favourites in the series. The story is good for the most part. Characters are mostly cool. Music is amazing. Voice acting is some of the worst I have ever heard. I don't understand how it ended up so bad. James Arnold Taylor and Hedy Buress are good voice actors, I liked them a lot in other games (e.g. the former in Ratchet & Clank, and the latter in Valkyria Chronicles). But here, they're absolutely awful.
Final Fantasy X-2
Edit
I don't know what happened here. I wanted more FFX. Instead, I got weird back massaging minigames. What?
Final Fantasy XII
Edit
XII is my favourite game in the series because it's an absolute pleasure to play all the time. Story isn't anything to write home about, but I don't really mind about flawed story if I have as much fun as I did with XII. The game also has some really cool characters like Balthier, Basch, Gabranth, and Ashe. Has some bad ones too. Nothing's perfect.
I own International Zodiac Job System now too. It's in Japanese, so I can't play it that often, but it's still pretty great. The titular job system is well implemented, but I don't know if I prefer it to the original system.
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Edit
It's fine, I suppose.
Final Fantasy XIII
Edit
Bad game. Takes too long to get going and when it does, it's still disappointing. Story is stupid. Characters are stupid. Well, that's not completely true. Snow is fun sometimes, Sazh is awesome, and Fang is cool. Everyone else is stupid though. Voice acting is varied in quality, with Fang's VA doing a nice job, but Vanille's doing an absolutely awful one. Snow, Sazh, and Hope's were okay, and Lightning's sucked. Gameplay's really boring and the first five hours of it is just hitting X. Boss fights are tedious. Music is really nice though. I recommend having a watch of this old stream by Chip Cheezum of the first two hours of the game, since he's a cool guy and his opinion matches mine pretty well.
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Edit
XIII-2 is a really fun game to play, and I love it completely. Except the story. The story's nonsense, but that's understandable since it's a sequel to nonsense. This game fixed almost everything wrong with XIII. For example, XIII started letting you develop your characters around three hours into the game. This was bad. However, XIII-2 lets you develop them after around three battles. This was good. Overall, XIII-2 is a great example on how to make a good sequel. Also, the soundtrack might actually be my favourite in the series 'cause it has loads of really awesome tracks. Crazy Chocobo is probably the funniest thing the series has ever done. So yeah, fantastic game that I wrote a walkthrough for.
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
Edit
So good in every way. I really love the art style and voice acting in particular. Oh, and Balthier's here for no reason other than fanservice. It's cool fanservice though.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Edit
It's fun and interesting to play, and I have no real problems with it.
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
Edit
Mystic Quest is a really bad game. It's not even the funny sort of bad. It's so boring and lacks any sort of challenge. The story is pretty much non-existent, and the characters are just sorta there. Just don't play it.
Dissidia Final Fantasy
Edit
Gets boring, easy, and repetitive really fast, and the story is just bad fanfiction.
Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy
Edit
Same deal as the first Dissidia, except now I can make Tifa beat up Vaan and Lightning, which is a cool thing.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy
Edit
Fun game with a dumb name. I don't recommend buying a 3DS specifically for it, but if you already have one of those for whatever reason, then you should definitely pick this up because it's one of the few games for that console that isn't crap or a remake of something I've played a lot already.
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales
Edit
Not bad. It's a kids game, so it's really easy, but it's still sorta fun. Story and characters are cute. Minigames get a tad repetitive. Pop-up duels were cool. Soundtrack's nice.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fate
Edit
It's okay. Gameplay is kinda awkward, but it's playable. Story isn't remarkable, nor are the characters. Voice acting was surprisingly decent though.
Final Fantasy: Unlimited
Edit
It doesn't suck completely.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
Edit
It's not that bad. Plot is a little dumb and the characters aren't that good, but it's still watchable. Looks super amazing. I don't understand how this was made in 2002 and still looks as good as recent CG movies and game cutscenes. Voice acting's alright. I hate Steve Buscemi though.
Kingdom Hearts series
Edit
Not really a fan. It's weird Disney x Final Fantasy crossover fanfiction with a bunch of generic original characters who all kinda look the same and have wacky, dumb hairstyles. Also, Sephiroth is voiced by Lance Bass. I really wanna know how the hell that happened because it's so funny and weird. Inevitable third game is gonna be insane now that Disney have got Marvel and Star Wars in their hands too. Gonna have Sora, Wolverine, and the crab from The Little Mermaid teaming up to fight Darth Maul. I could totally get into that.
