Music of Final Fantasy Tactics is a work of classic in the modern game music history. One of the prominent successes of its soundtrack is that composer Hitoshi Sakimoto wrote several motives which are ingeniously variated and even interwound in the scores.

On a trivial note, although Masaharu Iwata is the co-composer of the Final Fantasy Tactics soundtrack, his scores never shared the motives with Sakimoto's, except for BackBorn Story which only contains a very small fragment of A at the coda. This trait of composition continues in their later works such as Stella Deus, Final Fantasy XII and Odin Sphere.
