Tycoon Meteorite is the first visitable location in Final Fantasy V. It is located in Bartz's world to the west of Tycoon and the south of the Pirates' Hideout. Early in the game, it is blocking access to Castle Tycoon.

History[]

FFV Tycoon Meteor Lenna

Bartz finds Lenna at the meteor

Galuf Halm Baldesion used the meteorite to travel to Bartz's world,[note 1] after sensing Exdeath was beginning to reawaken.[3] The meteorite crash-landed near Castle Tycoon, causing Galuf to suffer amnesia.[note 2]

Upon arriving to investigate the crash, Bartz Klauser witnessed an unconscious Lenna Charlotte Tycoon being approached by a pair of Goblins and engaged them in battle. After saving Lenna, the two discovered the amnesiac Galuf collapsed at the meteorite and tended to him. Afterwards, Lenna and Galuf left the meteorite together with the intent to visit the wind crystal's shrine.[4]

Later, when adamantite was needed to upgrade their airship and travel to the Ronka Ruins, Galuf recalled adamantite reserves being present in the meteorite.[1] To obtain it, he, Bartz, and the party defeated the Adamantoise in battle.

After the earth crystal shattered and Galuf returned to his world, Bartz and the party met with Cid and Mid Previa at the meteorite. There, Cid and Mid hypothesized that Bartz's party could use the adamantite to travel to Galuf's world. Deducing that the adamantite left in the meteorite was not enough, the party traveled to the other three meteorites to gather the required amount.[5]

Finally, after leaving Ronka Ruins, Tycoon Meteorite must be returned to visit Cid and Mid, where a quest to obtain adamantite from Walse Meteorite, Karnak Meteorite, and Gohn Meteorite begins thereafter.
