Template:Sideicon Template:Location Tycoon Meteorite, also called Tycoon Meteor, is the first visitable location in the Bartz's World of Final Fantasy V. It is located to the west of Tycoon and south of the Pirates' Hideout. Early in the game, it is blocking access to Castle Tycoon.
Story
Bartz finds Lenna at the meteorite.
While Bartz Klauser is out camping in the Tycoon region, he spots a meteorite crashing down. Upon arriving on the impact site Bartz witnesses an unconscious Lenna being approached by a pair of Goblins and engages them in battle. After saving Lenna, the two discover Galuf collapsed at the meteorite and tend to him. Afterwards, Lenna and Galuf head for the Wind Shrine.
The meteorite is not visited again until the rise of the Ronka Ruins into the sky, when the valuable mineral Adamantite is required to upgrade the party's airship. To obtain the Adamantite, the party must first face the Adamantoise and defeat it in battle.
Cid and Mid at the Meteorite.
The meteorite is visited one last time after the Earth Crystal has shattered and Galuf has returned to his planet. The party finds Cid and Mid at Tycoon Meteorite and learn that Adamantite can be used to power up the meteorites, and travel to the other world.

Etymology
A meteorite is a solid piece of debris, from such sources as asteroids or comets, that originates in outer space and survives its impact with the Earth's surface. It is called a meteoroid before its impact.
In the pre-GBA versions they were known as meteors. A meteor or "shooting star" is the visible streak of light from a meteoroid or micrometeoroid, heated and glowing from entering the Earth's atmosphere, as it sheds glowing material in its wake. Meteors rarely explode in the Earth's atmosphere. The term has become associated with quickness with the adjective "meteoric". In the context of myth and superstition, meteors and comets sighted in Ancient and Medieval Europe were once held as ill omen, said to be the message of the heavens' displeasure of man's affairs to herald grave catastrophes.
Pieces that withstand atmospheric ablation are known as meteorites, but the name of the spell in the series refers to the overall phenomenon.
Seeing that meteor refers to a piece that does not withstand atmospheric entry, the meteors were renamed meteorites to the GBA and following versions of Final Fantasy V.
