Tycoon Meteor(大物の流星,Ōmono no ryūsei?) is the first visitable location in the First World of Final Fantasy V. It is located to the west of Tycoon and south of the Pirates' Hideout. Early in the game, it is blocking access to Castle Tycoon.
The meteor is first seen during the game's opening, falling down from the sky. As soon as the player first gains control, they are supposed to visit it. Upon arriving here, Bartz witnesses an unconscious Lenna being approached by a pair of Goblins and engages them in battle. After saving Lenna, the two of them discover Galuf collapsed at the meteor and tend to him. Afterwards, Lenna and Galuf leave the meteor together with the intent to visit the Wind Crystal's Shrine.
The meteor is not visited again until the rise of the Ronka Ruins into the sky, when the valuable mineral Adamantite is required to upgrade the airship. However, in order to obtain the Adamantite, the party must first face the Adamantoise and defeat it in battle.
The meteor is then visited one last time after the Earth Crystal has shattered and Galuf has returned to his planet. It is here that the party finds Cid and Mid and learn that Adamantite can also be used to power up the meteors, thus being able to transport the party to Galuf's World. It is from here that the party sets out to revisit the three other meteors.
