Tristam

Tristam is the least reliable of Benjamin's four allies in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. He is a mercenary, and will leave Benjamin to fend for himself at the opportunity for a treasure hunt. His town of origin is unknown, and he wields Ninja Stars, Explosives, and the Dragon Claw at various points in the game (he later gives the Dragon Claw to Benjamin). He enlists Benjamin's aid in raiding the Bone Dungeon in exchange for an elixir, during which time they fight the Flamerus Rex. He then briefly rejoins Benjamin after Reuben's accident, but quickly deserts after he hears of a treasure hunt. After Benjamin has beaten the Dark King and is preparing to sail around the world, Tristam makes his way onto the boat at the last second, hoping to lay claim to any treasures the pair would find. As an interesting bit of trivia, Tristam is the only character in this game to get a theme song and as a ninja, he is the only NPC in Mystic Quest with a defined job class.
